Chapter 15: Guess it's plan B

{Carter}

"For fucks sake!!!!!!!!" June yelled as he kicked around. All their stuff was either broken or burned. "How did a dragon and a chameleon get past us so easily?!" Niki said with all her spines shooting out. Carter sniffs the air and touches the ground saying "They must have used the fighting as cover. With us fighting our battles we'd be too distracted.".

They all sat down and June said "Yeah? Well now even if we wanted to leave we can't!". June flew off and grabbed his sword on the way out. "So we have to go and we can't.... at this point we all need help.". Carter looks up and says "Well first I say we give these guys a taste of their own medicine!". Niki shakes her head and says "You saw them! They have their own legendary weapons now, and with the scythe on their side....".

Carter looks and says "They are the opposites of our weapons, which means that they must have to search for them too. If it really is Darren and Emerald, then they aren't leaving until they find the opposite weapon of the scythe. This gives us time.".

June then flies back panicked and says "They're coming! Now would be a good chance to activates whatever master plan you have!".

"This is a horrible plan!" June said as they all stood waiting. "If we hide they'll just hunt us down again. Fighting them is our only option. Now shut up and stick to the script!". Emerald, and Darren came out with Ace behind them. "Well if it isn't my three favorite enemies!" Darren said looking at Carter, Niki, and June. "Just figured I'd make this a fair fight!" Carter said.

While they were talking Zira flew up with some smoke bombs and got ready. "Emerald you take the girl, I'll handle June, and Ace.... The cats all yours!" He said smiling. The moment they moved Zira dropped the smoke bombs.... Nothing? The bombs all stopped in mid air and then got thrown away from the fight.

"HEH?!". Slowly a long pink tongue appeared and she saw May hanging by her tail waiting for her. "Nice try." She said as she flung herself towards her, tackling her out the air. When they hit the ground Carter looked over and yelled "Plan B!". They all rotated fights and chose their targets. "HEY!" Ace said to Carter. Before he could chase him down Niki kicked him in the gut.

Before Emerald could go after her June knocked her away, and Darren was forced off by Zira. Carter then got a running start and rushed to tackle May. The two were both experienced and had no special weapons. Carter sighed, put away his claws and said "Why are you doing this?". She paused at him as he said " I've seen people like your boss before, so why?".

She glared at him as all her scales turned red along with her hair and tail yelling "You have no idea what you're talking about!". Carter started walking over to her and said "Do I? I work as a hunter, and believe me when I say that a chameleon and komodo Dragon have no business with each other. Unless of course.... He has something to gain from you? You let your fear of him limit your actions and control you, but you still follow him blindly as he hurts people.".

Her colors then start going into a purple color as she says "T- that's not-". "Your colors say it all. Your boss is a cold and harsh asshole. You should think about leaving him and bringing your friend with you. Consider my offer, and you'll be considering your life.". She then turns invisible as Emerald gave the signal to retreat.

The others go over to him and he says "I think plan B worked.".

{May}

"So hey, Ace." She said making sure her boss wasn't around. "What now?!" he asked pulling feathers out of his hair. "Do you think boss is well....". Ace lifted up his hands and says "Cold, harsh, mean, evil, dark, abusive, power hungry, and self absorbed? Yes.". She nodded and said "So what would you say if I told you that we should.... leave?". He stopped and said "You know what.... That's not a bad idea. In fact-". He then stands up and says "Let's leave tomorrow night! Right after boss leaves!".

(Carter POV)

I'm not stupid. I know when violence get's you nowhere. "Do you really think this will work?" June ask me. "Yeah. We just have to be patient. If I can convince her to come with us then we'll have a new ally. We'll also stand a better chance.". I see Zira walk up to us and say "Carter, how can you be so calm about this?! If this goes wrong- If SHE goes wrong, they'll have a major edge on us!".

I glared at her and said "You think I don't know that?! I'm prepared to keep things steady, and if things go wrong then-". I pause to speak. "I'm ready for that.". I am many things but a unprepared person is not one of them. Animal or not, I will handle this. I just have to control my actions and time them right.

{May}

"Ace come on man where are you?!" She said waiting. "Sorry I'm late! I was running an errand." Ace said jumping down. "Come on! We've got a few hours until he gets back so come on.". They walk into an area in the forest while May thinks. She then stops when they get to a clearing and says "Ace.... Why did you join me?". He stops in the clearing and says "What are you on about?".

"Ace.... Don't fuck with me Ace!". She then turns pale and then red. "It's a-" She then stops as a sound of what sounds like a puncture happens and she slumps to the ground. Emerald is then standing where she stood with Darren and her Boss. "A- Ace.... You bastard!" She struggled to say. "May.... you were such a good worker for me. When Ace told me you were planning to run away I just couldn't take the risk." Her boss said.

"The venom of the stone fish is going to leave you in too much pain to move and too weak to call for help.... But I'm gonna leave you alive for now. Next we meet I hope you stat dead." He says shooting a flare up. "Sorry lady, but A wolfs gotta do what a wolfs gotta do!" Ace says as they leave and she goes unconscious.
