More Friends Means More Shenanigans

Luca opened the door for Ganodo and they both walked into the clinic.

A nurse sitting at the desk looked over at them. "Oh, are you checking in to get treatments for your injuries?"

"Me and Rambone, the one that's unconscious."

"Oh alright, can you tell me your name as well?"

"Luca."

They then typed a bunch on the computer and got up.

"Come this way." The nurse showed them to two small clinic beds next to each other. Ganodo put Rambone down on one of them. Luca sat down on the other as Ganodo took a nearby chair.

"Let me take your temperatures, blood pressures, and heart rates." Luca nodded and each followed accordingly.

"Mmhmm. So he is unconscious like you said, but all we can really do at the moment is monitor his situation and we'll have to give him CPR if he's out for too long. For now, I'll take a look at you first."

She nodded once again and sighed, a tear silently falling down her cheek. "Cool."

The nurse looked at her in sympathy. "You good, hun?"

She looked away. "Y-yeah, I'm fine. Just got reminded of something."

"Okay. Where you are feeling pain?"

"My back and my right arm."

"Can I feel them?"

"I guess... yeah." She answered hesitantly

The nurse lifted the back of her uniform top to feel around. Luca nearly flinched as she felt over for a few seconds.

"It's pretty red and bruised. Here, I'll put some ice to keep behind there." They walked over to a cabinet and opened it, grabbing and putting it in the bruised spot. From there she tucked down Luca's top to its normal spot.

"Eeesh, that's cold."

"Hahaha, you'll get used to it. Don't worry, it won't last long." She laughed.

Rambone then jolted around a bit in the bed.

"Speaking of not lasting long, there he is." Ganodo joked.

He slowly opened his eyes and took in his surroundings, gently sitting him. He rubbed his eyes.

"Huh, the clinic? What happened?"

Ganodo laughed and smiled at him. "Hahaha bro... you got knocked out and I chipped in."

"Who the hell are you?"

"I'm Ganodo Howell. Nice to meet you."

"Uhh... I guess nice to meet you... then?" He scratched the back of his head. "I'm Rambone Lewis."

"Your friend over there introduced me to the two of you."

"Yeah, he did. Saved our asses." Luca said and then suddenly nearly let out a scream as the nurse touched the elbow region of her right arm.

"You got fucked up more than me, seems."

"You say that like it's an achievement. I nearly died, wowie."

The pain in Rambone's back and belly then kicked in. He gripped his stomach, gritting his teeth.

"I didn't mean it like that."

"Ah, I se-- ah, ah, ah..." The nurse was wrapping bandage around the wound.

Rambone did a small flinch in empathy.

"I'll be fine. What ab-bout you?"

"I should be okay too."

"Yeah, you'll be fine after a few days. Just be careful." The nurse said.

"Gotcha."

The nurse shifted her attention to Rambone.

"Will you let me feel over your belly and back for a sec?"

"Sure." He let go of his stomach and she lifted his top up and felt over him.

"Yup. That's banged up, too. Your belly is swelling up pretty bad, too."

"I'm not fat!"

The nurse chuckled.

"No, not that. Can you hold your shirt up like that while I tie bandage around you?"

Rambone nodded. "Oh, sorry."

"It's okay."

He complied and the bandage was wrapped all around the wound region.

"No ice?" Rambone said.

"I think you'll be fine without it."

"Huh. Alright. You three are free to leave."

They looked at the clock in the room, the time told them it was about 4 P.M. The three of them would leave and start back up their chatter just outside the room. Well, they tried to little success.

"Let's head to the food court to talk. I need to get to know you, Ganodo."

Ganodo brought up his upper lip and gave a sure to him. In the food court, they took a table and began talking. This time to success.

"Who are you, Ganodo?"

"Well, for starters, I just saved both of your asses back against those shady dudes. I'm working on some personal projects in the area while spending some time at the arena for the money."

"Like what?"

"Doubt you'd care. Just bland writing and art projects."

"Ugh. Yeah, don't care too much about that stuff. Boring."

"I mean I want to become a creative genius. It's what my parents wanted me to do when I was little."

"Oh, what do you mean by that?"

"Long story I don't want to tell."

"Dude, we got tons of time right now. Go ahead."

"Don't want to."

Rambone backed off. "Understandable."

"But, didn't you want to show us a bit of one?" Luca asked.

"Oh... oh that. Yeah, I'll do that later today after I get some stuff. And Rambone, the only thing I can really tell you is that some stupid shit I did lead to this and that, which brought me here to get money to go to college."

'Where are you from? I never got the chance to ask you." Luca asked.

"I come from way up northeast in some rural place of Aplad. I'm here because college over there is expensive as shit."

"And your parents were just... okay with you leaving?"

"Yeah. I managed to talk them into it. Just not about all this arena shit."

"Interesting," Rambone commented.

"But, where are you two from?"

"We're from nearby, not too far away."

"Oh, for real? Where?

"Leeside. Just a few miles out."

"Wow. That's dope. What do you guys do in your free time?"

"I don't know... we kinda just... I don't really know."

"Kinda just what?"

"I can't really answer that, to be honest."

Luca was fidgeting with her hands on the table. Ganodo got up from his chair and pushed it in.

"Well... I have got to get going. I'll see you guys around sometime soon. If you give me your phone numbers, I can give you a call."

"I thought only the central office could call us."

"Nah, just not like, spam callers."

Luca got up too and whispered their phone numbers into Ganodo's ear.

"Thanks. I'll note it down when I get home."

"See you. Was nice to meet you." Rambone was the last one to stand up. He shook hands with Ganodo and Luca and Rambone waved him goodbye.

As Ganodo walked out of the food court, Rambone jogged his memory.

"What are we gonna do about Cara, for the second time around?"

"I don't know. Either she'll be fine or she's currently dead."

"What do you think?"

"I don't know."

"I'm just hoping that she's okay at this point."

"Me too."

"Yeah, no shit."

Luca snickered.

"Well, hey, let's think this over as we get a quick workout in. Sound like a fair idea?" Rambone asked.

"Sure?" She replied, she tried to add on to the statement but lost the words.
