Chapter Forty Five

Lia was sighing.

She is just going to get that out of the way, so the rest of the story makes sense.

She was sighing, not out of pleasure, unfortunately, but out of discomfort.

She was doing that because it was summer and their main air-con unit broke down during the time Chase was out of the house running errands and buying groceries.

Frankly, she was melting. She was sprawled out on their couch, almost down to her undergarments, wearing cycling shorts and a loose tank top she did not know she had.

And because she felt like she was being suffocated and sweating in places she didn't want to sweat, she started sighing. She started with just a little "aaaaahh," but nothing too loud.

But by the time Chase was home with three bags of groceries and her dry cleaning, she was too hot and annoyed that she was in the middle of conducting an orchestra of sigh.

This obviously shocked the man a little.

Okay, maybe more than a little.
