Crossing The Lines

Manila, thirty years ago...

The two little children attended the same school together, and the little girl loved every second of it. It was her fifth year in elementary school. The little boy, though a few years older than her, always played with her at recess and sat with her at lunch. He didn't really care much about his friends who whined at him because, for him, his little best friend always comes first. And they would go back home together, walking hand in hand while singing, or talking, and, of course, laughing. They were Alex and Adrian.

And today wasn't little Alex's day either, because everything seemed to be going bad. She was upset that she didn't have lunch with her best friend because the little boy had to see their teacher at the office. And he hadn't come to see him yet.
