Chapter 32 Roy's Intentions

As we leaped out of the balcony, we landed in an alleyway.

Shepherd lands swiftly.

My body slams against a dumpster.

"Come on get up kid."

Shepherd says, holding out his hand.

He lifts me up and we begin to sprint away from the church.

"Who is the girl?"

Shepherd asks.

"She's my friend."

I said, looking at Catherine.

She remains unconscious.

"I really hope she feels the same way about you. The other kid wasn't a big fan of your moves."

Shepherd says while chuckling.

"You think that's funny?"

I asked, frowning.

"The real question is, how well do we do this girl? I don't like the idea of taking this girl back to Roy."

Shepherd says.

"We have no choice. She has to be safer with us than anywhere else."

I say.

We approach the laboratory Roy and Hayden are waiting at.

Bursting through the door, we pant after escaping the onslaught from the church.

We both pant. I fell to my knees.

Shepherd lays down Catherine next to him as he catches his breath.

"That was faster than I expected."

Roy says.

"Who is the girl?"

Sinfield asks, standing in the corner.

"A friend she is with me."

I said, hearing Sinfield walk closer.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Shepherd asks.

Sinfield knocks Shepherd off his feet.

Shepherd grunts, catching himself, using the counter.

Sinfield walked towards me, slamming his foot on my back.

Knocking the breath out of me.

I gasped for air.

"What the hell?"

Shepherd asks, shouting.

"Now, now don't make any unwanted moves."

Roy says, as he aims his pistol at my face.

"Do what you do well, he won't die."

Shepherd says.

"That doesn't matter, it's what we do for him while he recovers. Do you not realize the power you have in your grasp exactly you don't. You are both just like Arthur, fighting for your own ideals, your own ambitions."

Roy says, as he shoots Shepherd in his hand.

"Gah!"

Shepherd grunts as he holds his hand.

"Don't worry, I just have the medallion. Where is it?"

Roy asks.

"What do you plan to do with this project? What is it you are really after? Roy, what is it you want to accomplish?"

Shepherd asks, as blood leaks on the floor.

"I don't have time for this, Shepherd. I won't ask again."

Roy says, as he shoots Shepherd again.

"Agh!"

Shepherd continues to grunt.

"I'll empty the rest of the clip onto the girl next, if you don't give me the medallion, damnit!"

Roy shouts, as he aims his gun at Catherine.

"Wa.."

I try to speak by reaching out.

Roy turned to me, looking at me with disgust.

"Let him speak, Sinfield."

Sinfield lifts his foot.

"I have the medallion. Don't hurt her, please."

I said, reaching into my pocket slowly.

Pulling out the medallion, Roy grins as he snatches it from my hand.

"Perfect, you are both amazing."

Roy says.

"Are we done here?"

I asked, Sinfield slammed his foot on me again.

Gasping again for air, I clenched my fist.

Roy aims his gun at Catherine.

"Stop, we can talk about this."

Shepherd says.

"No, I need a sacrifice and she will do it."

Roy says.

"What do you plan to do, Roy?"

Shepherd asks.

"Stop asking questions, you're distracting him!"

Sinfield yells, applying more pressure on my back.

I groan in pain.

"I'm sorry it had to be this way. Shepherd just didn't need any loose ends. When you came in here with that girl, I realized you couldn't be trusted anymore. You are not the same as you were before, Shepherd."

Roy says.

Roy puts on the medallion.

"Grab the serum, Hayden. Let's get started as soon as possible."

Roy says as he moves the table.

"We need to inject this into your veins. I'll attempt to fuse your blood cells with the serum as it multiples. We will see what happens."

Hayden says, as he prepares the needle.

"You wouldn't dare! You said you were going to free Hayden and Sinfield from Arthur!"

Shepherd shouts.

"That has already been done, Shepherd. We achieved that long ago."

Roy says Hayden injects the serum into his vein.

Roy lay in the middle of the ark that was drawn onto the floor.

Hayden moves the curtains as the moonlight shines on the medallion.

The medallion begins to emit energy.

Hayden in the middle of the ark as it glows bright red.

Roy's body begins to shrivel up slowly.

His legs and arms began to bend and fold.

Roy groans out loud in pain.

"ARGGGH!"

Hayden holds out his hands.

Using his blood magic, Roy shouts even more.

He coughs up blood.

"You're killing him, Hayden!"

Sinfield shouts as he lifts the foot of my back.

Stepping towards Hayden.

"Step back, I need to focus. I'm almost done. But the serum is multiplying too fast for me to fuse his blood cells with it."

Hayden says as he struggles.

The ark circle begins to decrease in shrink.

A pillar of light shines, as the medallion activates.

Hayden stops and falls to his knees.

Roy's body heals, growing bigger, while his skin turns grey.

"The medallion is powerful. It can resurrect while granting immense energy."

Hayden says as he pants, standing up.

"So in other words, that was his saving grace if his body couldn't handle the strain of this power we have granted him."

Shepherd says, as he reaches for the counter, to stand up.

"Stay down, pretty boy, until the boss decides what to do with you two."

Sinfield says.

"Try me, I'm right here."

Shepherd says.

Sinfield smirks as he cracks his knuckles.

"I've been itching for a brawl. Being under Arthur all the time has made me soft."

Sinfield says.

"Then you will be disappointed in me as well."

Roy says.

He stands up stretching, his skin now gray and his eyes glowing red.

"I'm hungry, I'm going to devour the girl, then I'm going to kill you both."

Roy said, walking towards Catherine.

"I won't let you!"

Shepherd says, punching Roy.

Roy catches his fist, twisting his arm.

" Remember what I told you. Remember, no matter what you do, you will always die. That is the position you put yourself in Shepherd."

Roy says throwing Shepherd through the wall.

Pulling out a dagger, I threw it at Roy's eye.

He deflects it.

Smirking, I sprint at him, slashing my blade.

He smacks my blade away.

"Weak."

Roy kicks me in the chest.

Knocking me down.

"Too tired to fight, huh? Thought this would be entertaining."

Roy smiles sinisterly, as he hovers over me.

Stepping on my wrist, slowly crushing it.

"Is this what it feels like? To be one of you?"

Roy asks.

"This is childish, you shouldn't have stayed after you completed the ritual. I have been looking all over for you, Roy."

A man said, standing in the doorway.

"Never thought I saw you."

Roy said as the man gained all of his attention.
