Chapter 33 The Devil?

"I didn't expect to see you here, welcome old friend."

Roy says.

Hayden and Sinfield both stare at the man.

The man steps further into the building.

Sinfield steps back, cautious.

Hayden picks up the gun off the floor.

Revealing himself, it was Arthur who was wearing a different suit.

Navy blue with a black tie.

His shoulders were covered in snow.

Arthur dusts the snow off as he speaks.

"Roy, I thought you knew better than that. It's pathetic. Watching you scowl around in the shadows scheming. You're foolish, you think I wouldn't notice the spike of energy."

Roy chuckles.

"Did you really think you could get away with it? You really think I wouldn't notice what you were doing, Roy. Controlling my subordinates, trying to intimate our power. You are just a mere human, a pawn."

Arthur said, stepping closer to Roy.

"Your heart is beating really fast, I won't kill a bug."

Arthur turned his back.

"Kill Roy, I'll punish both of you later. Hayden, Sinfield, did you hear me?"

Arthur turns around, looking at them both in confusion.

"You still don't understand, do you, Arthur? I thought you would've realized it by now."

Roy said, laughing.

"What did you do?"

Arthur asks, turning around as he walks towards Roy again.

Hayden aims the gun at Arthur.

"Put the gun down, Hayden."

Hayden still focuses on him.

"I freed them from your sire line, they are no longer under your control. Matter of fact, they have their own free will. Do you sense the fear in their hearts?"

Roy says, as Arthur stares at Sinfield.

"That's it, you're starting to see it now, aren't you the bigger picture? I've already become what I intended to be. My mere existence is just a threat to your whole entire kingdom you have created here. It's okay, Arthur, and you have been in too long in my opinion. People will now know there is a way to become you and be stronger than you. Without all the years of experience or power you have obtained. Because they also know the truth about you, Arthur, you aren't a vampire."

Roy says as he smiles sinisterly.

Arthur falls to his knees, as he holds his head.

"I remember all of it. It still haunts me."

Arthur says.

Roy kneels down and taunts him even further.

"You're a demon, you don't even belong in our realm, Arthur. But there is a reason you are here in the realm you originally came to where you didn't even rule. Their society killed you. So you have to come to our realm seeking peace. But you can't breed with mortals. You came to do research on them, trying to find a way. To reproduce in this world, it creates a kingdom hoping to go back to your home. Finally, reclaim what is yours."

Roy says as he slowly stands up.

"Shutup!"

Arthur stands up shouting, reaching towards Roy.

Hayden shoots Arthur in the head.

Arthur turns back frowning, as the bullet falls from his forehead.

"Hayden told me everything, Arthur."

Roy says chuckling, as he punches Arthur.

Arthur grunts as he kicks Roy through the wall.

Hayden continues to shoot Arthur.

Arthur is stunned by the bullets.

Hayden continues to press the trigger out of fear.

The clip is empty.

Hayden stares at Arthur as he walks towards him.

Sinfield wraps his arms around Arthur.

Roy walks back into the building dusting himself off.

Sinfield struggles holding Arthur.

Hayden reloads the gun.

Shooting at Arthur again.

Arthur grunts as the bullets hit him.

"Enough!"

Arthur shouts, enraged.

Arthur breaks free from his grasp, punching Sinfield.

Breaking Sinfield's nose, he bleeds all over the floor.

Arthur raises his hand, controlling Sinfield.

Sinfield is sent flying through the building.

The bloodstains on the floor then rise up, forming into a spear.

Hayden shakes in fear.

"Did you think I let you shoot me for free, Hayden?"

Arthur asks, as the shiny red spear pierces Hayden's chest.

Impaling him on the floor.

Roy claps.

Hayden struggles as he tries to free himself from the spear.

"I'll handle them later. They are my men. I have to take care of them."

Arthur says.

"It's a shame you left them alive. I never planned on fighting to the death."

Roy says, walking towards Hayden.

"Do what you must, you aren't going anywhere."

Arthur says, stepping in front of Roy.

"But can you stop me?"

Roy asks, punching Arthur.

Arthur catches his punch grunting.

The impact of the punch created a shockwave blowing the building away.

"Gah!"

Arthur struggles holding his punch.

"This power feels incredible, it looks like the more I die the stronger I become!"

The medallion shines.

Roy pushes Arthur back with his punch.

Arthur his arm, but Roy follows up with another punch.

Sending Arthur flying into the street.

Arthur coughed up blood, as he lay motionless.

In the street, his suit was ripped and torn.

Roy pants, as he breaks the spear holding Hayden.

"Come, we must go. That is all my strength. I cannot control it. My body can't handle all this power."

Roy says as he falls to his knees coughing up blood.

"I'm sure Arthur has more energy to fight. We must go now, Hayden!"

Roy shouts as Hayden stands helping him up.

Hayden, look at me and Catherine.

"What about them?"

Hayden asks.

"Forget them. Arthur wouldn't let a human live after finding out his secret. They will be dealt with, they aren't our problem anymore."

Roy says, as he and Hayden vanish in thin air.

Leaving traces of their blood on the wooden floor.

The snow falls upon us now, due to the wreckage of the buildings.

Standing up, I picked up Catherine.

Arthur regains consciousness.

He gasps for air.

Looking at me, he frowns.

Stomping towards me, I lay Catherine in the snow.

I draw my blade, as he approaches.

"It's you, it looks like he left for dead."

Arthur said, walking towards me.

"Stay away from him!"

Shepherd shouts, sprinting in the snow.

Shepherd throws a punch, Arthur steps to the side.

Grabbing Shepherd's neck.

Lifting up Shepherd, he sets his terms.

"Shepherd, you and the boy will tell me everything I want to know. If the three of you want to live, you work for me now."

Arthur says, as he throws Shepherd down.

Shepherd coughs, nodding.

"Let's go. I need to tend to the young girl. She has several wounds."

Arthur says.
