Chapter 37 Flying Dragon

Leaning against my car with Tari.

Police sirens are rampant around the block.

Blue and red lights shine around the city.

"It's been an entire week since those innocent people died. Since those gang members woke up into different creatures than they were."

I said, gazing into the sky, as snow flakes fell.

Tari walked up towards me.

"You think this guy who has something to do with it is here?"

Tari asks, as she throws a snowball at me.

I sigh.

"So how did you find this guy?"

Tari asks.

"Well, whenever I'm near a powerful energy source, this amulet tracks it down for me."

I said, holding out the amulet. It's covered in bronze with a silver chain.

There sits a white crystal in the middle.

"Sir!"

An officer came behind me saluting.

His name is Kenny Michaels, he has short orange hair with brown eyes.

Kenny is tall but chubby.

I salute back.

"I've called all the available officers to lock down this area, in search of the prime suspect."

He says.

"Good work Kenny."

I said, patting his shoulder.

"You know we are being issued equipment to deal with supernatural scenarios such as this one. Today we are lucky to have you back, Sanders."

Officer Kenny says.

"I can't wait to see what unit I end up using?"

I said, putting my hands in my pockets.

"Anyway, who do you think there is?"

Officer Kenny asks.

"It's a lead."

Pointing at that apartment building.

A helicopter hovers near the building.

The atmosphere begins to change as citizens start to horde the police cars as well.

"Who ordered a chopper?"

I asked, trying not to yell.

"I didn't, I just put out the request like you asked, it looks like the media wants to get involved."

Officer Kenny says as he shrugs.

The building shakes, hearing shouting.

"Well, then off, I'm going in. Tari, stay here."

Yelling at Tari so she could hear, I ran into the building.

Sprinting past the officers as they evacuate the people in the building.

Going up the stairs, I began to hear yelling.

I hear the floor being crushed as a body slams against it.

After going up several flights of stairs,

Reaching the apartment, I saw two men wrestling.

"Stop right there!"

I shouted, pulling out my gun.

"It's a cop, Nathan, calm down!"

Jericho says blood is sputtering out of his mouth.

Staring at the man holding Jericho, his one eye glows yellow.

While the other glistens with pure energy, with a scar stretching across his cheek to his forehead.

Stepping into the light.

I see his long white hair and aging skin.

"Nathan, what happened to you?"

I ask.

"Sanders, what the hell?"

He recognized my voice.

Nathan releases Jericho from the headlock.

Jericho coughs and falls to his knees coughing.

As he slowly crawls away from Nathan.

Walking towards Nathan as he holds his head.

"Let's get you out of here. I can help you, and your people."

I said, offering a hand to him.

"No, no. What have you done?"

Nathan asks.

"What?"

I was confused.

"Thorne! THORNE!"

He began shouting.

"Nathan, calm down."

The helicopter lands on the building on top of the apartment building.

Making a lot of noise.

"I can't control it!"

Nathan shouts, as he begins growling.

"AAAAAAAAAAAARGGGH!!!!!!"

Pulling out the amulet, it rings and shines as purple energy pulsates through the white crystal.

Jericho walks towards me.

"It looks like Thorne's aura. She must have some type of control over Nathan."

Jericho says.

"Is that bad or good?"

I ask.

"I think it's worse."

Jericho says.

Nathan becomes feral, clawing at his own flesh as he growls.

He heals rapidly.

His one yellow eye glows.

"You should've helped when you had the chance!"

Nathan shouts, lunging at me.

He slashes at me, catching his hand.

I shoot him in the chest, emptying the clip.

The bullets drop to the ground.

"Jericho, get out of here!"

I shouted as Nathan smacked the gun out of my hand.

Punching Nathan, he slashes at me. I evaded the attack.

Nathan reaches out for me, grabbing my neck.

He would slam me through the floor.

"Agh!"

I groaned, standing up from the rubble.

Nathan pounces on me. I caught him.

Slamming Nathan into the wall, as it creates a crater.

"I'm sorry I couldn't help you, but this won't make you any better!"

Stunning Nathan I punched him several times.

"Killing innocents won't save your family!"

I shout, he catches my punch.

"What do you know?"

Nathan asks, as he pulls me in and slashes at my chest.

Cutting through my skin.

"Graaah!"

Moaning in agony, I punched him as hard as I could.

Nathan stumbles. Grabbing his collar, I threw him through the wall, into the next apartment.

"I'm sorry Nathan, I can't let you do this anymore. I'm going to help you no matter what."

Nathan roars, as his voice changes.

"RRRRRROOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!!!!!!!!!!!"

The entire wall collapses as he pounces on me.

He is covered in white and fur with a giant physique.

His snout is dripping saliva as he growls like a feral beast.

Nathan tackles me as he attempts to bite my head off.

"Damnit Nathan!"

Holding his snout open.

I growled, shifting into my beast form.

My suit and mask are burnt off in the process.

I growled, shifting into my beast form.

My suit and mask are burnt off in the process.

Growing wings, and a tail in an instant.

My skin was immediately covered in black flames and scales.

Snarling as the floor begins to break underneath us.

Wrapping my tail around his neck, I pull him off as he struggles.

Nathan slashes my face.

Trying to grab him, I missed, as he leaped above me.

"ARGGHHHHH!"

I growled, as he pulled my tail across the room after landing.

Slinging me out of the window.

Catching myself, I flap my wings.

Flying towards him.

Nathan gets on all fours, charging at me from the apartment.

Nathan punches me, causing a shockwave.

The shockwave shatters the glass.

Grunting, I latch onto him with my claws.

"ROAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!!!!!!!"

Tackling him through floors of the apartment building.

Not seeing where I'm flying too, we crash into the next building over.

Panting, I stood over the white beast.

The beast whimpers.

Raising my arms, my sharp claws reflected the light ready to cut off Nathan's head.

Realizing what I'm doing, regaining control over myself.

Nathan remains still, he lifts his head back.

Wrapping my tail around his neck, I choked him.

As energy pulsates through my hand.

I stare at the black flame that is now imbued with my claws.

Clenching my claws, I punched Nathan, rendering him unconscious.

Hearing the police officers as they approached the building.

Latching onto Nathan's back with my talons.

Avoiding the police and citizens' views.

I flew off into the air, out of the helicopter's reach.
