Monitoring the Situation

The den den mushi started. It wasn't until a couple of seconds later before the person on the other line picked up the line.

"Moshi moshi." the voice said.

"Borsalino, it's Kurosai" Percy said

"Ehh....admiral. What can I do for you?"

"Are you in the New world?"

"Yes" Borsalino replied.

"Where?"

"Kinoko Island"

"Good. You are to meet me at Dressrosa. If you arrive early, wait for me and the rest."

"The rest?" Borsalino asked in confusion.

"Sakazuki and Dragon are also joining us."

"Oh...." Borsalino said as he tried to process the information. "Are we going after someone strong this time?"

"Kaidou" is all Percy said and the vice admiral understood.

"I'll be there in 3 days" Borsalino said

"See you then" Percy said before hanging up.

*Katcha* "Hello?"

"Sakazuki, this is Kurosai."

"Admiral, what do you need?" Sakazuki said as he sat in his office on his ship.

"Where are you?"

"I am in paradise at the moment" Sakazuki said as he started to hesitate, "I am just now leaving my base."

"How long will it take you to Dressrosa?" Percy asked without inquiring further into Sakazuki's situation.

"Sir It'll be another 5-6 days if we hurry" Sakazuki responded.

"Do it. I need you there as soon as possible."

"What for sir?"

"We're going after Kaidou" Percy answered.

"I'll be there as soon as possible" Sakazuki said before hanging up the den den mushi.

"So we are meeting in Dressrosa" Percy said to Dragon who was on the other line.

"I see" Dragon responded, "Do you really need me?"

"If what I think is about to happen, then yes I do" Percy replied.

"What do you think is going to happen?"

"Kaidou and Attun are about to fight and we need to capture one or two of them. I can handle one of the emperors, you three are going to fight the other."

"And who are you going to fight?" Dragon asked suspiciously.

"Attun. I learned a new trick that will allow me to fight on the open waters with the leviathan. As long as you guys can hold back Kaidou from engaging me while I capture Attun, then our mission should be a success."

"Easier said than done. Kaidou is a monster. Even with the 3 of us, it will be difficult to capture him."

"Stalling is fine as well. As long as he doesn't interfere with my fight, we'll be good. Anyways, this is a precaution. Our main objective is to observe the fight and intervene if we see an opportunity. If we don't then we can just watch and enjoy the fight."

"Alright I'm in. Besides that anything new lately in Marineford?" Dragon asked.

"Not really, just got threatened by a small time vice admiral with his family's power that is about it."

"Could be useful" Dragon said nonchalantly.

"It's not. Pickle is merely a tool for the family so we can't exploit him like you thought. Though there is someone I want you to look for after this mission is over."

"Oh? Who is that?" Dragon asked curiously.

"His name is Doflamingo. Donquixote Doflamingo. His life is tragic. As his name suggests, he was a former celestial dragon; but his father decided to abandon his title and their family moved back down to the sea."

"How noble of him" Dragon said approvingly. "For the father to abandon his power and status must have been a great sacrifice for his family."

"It was" Percy continued. "Their family was naturally hated by everyone around them because of their former titles and they were forced to live basically on the streets. His mother died of an illness and Doflamingo, his father and brother were basically lynched."

Dragon was silent as he let Percy continue.

"After the lynching, Doflamingo decided to kill his father to regain his status as a celestial dragon, so he did. When he went back up to Mary Geoise, he was rejected by the world nobles. He hates them now. He is a perfect candidate for the revolutionary army. Plus, he ate a very powerful fruit the string-string fruit making him the string man."

"And where do I find this Doflamingo?" Dragon asked as he planned on how to recruit this fallen noble.

"That's the thing, I don't know where exactly he is at the moment. I think he is North Blue somewhere. He should be associated with a man named Trebol. Look for him and you'll find Doflamingo."

"...Interesting. After this, I'll certainly look for him."

"You'd better hurry up and do so" Percy said, "before he gets too corrupted by the idea of piracy for us to recruit."

It was a week later when the 4 battleships met up off the coast of Dressrosa. Percy, Sakazuki, Dragon, Borsalino, plus their second-in-commands were seated around a large table inside Percy's ship. They were staring at a drawing of an island.

"This is Risky Red" Percy announced to the crowd gathered before him. "It is one of the first islands after Fisherman Island when reaching the New world. I don't know why they decided to confront each other there, but they are. Our mission is simple. We are to monitor the battle and if there is an opportunity, we are to try capture one if not both of the emperors. If not, then maintain order around the island and make sure the damage doesn't spread too far. Any questions?"

Orange raised her hand "What if Kaidou and Attun notice us and decide to fight us instead?"

"Then we retreat. All of us here are strong enough to buy time for our ship to retreat a safe distance. Even though Kaidou can fly and Attun can swim, we can fight to a certain extent. Plus, I can control the ocean."

There was a surprise look on everyone's faces as they looked at the admiral.

"Oh yeah, I haven't told anyone. HAHAHAHAHA. Yea, I now have the human-human fruit model: Poseidon ability as well as the dark-dark fruit. Don't ask how, I don't know either. All I know is that I can create tsunamis and tidal waves big enough for us to escape."

Again, silence permeated throughout the room, finally Borsalino spoke,

"Boss, why does it sound like your deliberately leaving something out?"

The group nodded and looked at Percy, he just shook his head.

"Don't look at me like that. Anything else?"

"Is it just us?" Sakazuki asked

"Yes. This is all Marineford can spare. You are all the strongest outside the admirals anyways. Well, besides Garp and Zed."

"So monitor first and then assess?" Sakazuki's second asked.

"That's correct" Percy responded. "We don't want to engage unless there is a 100% certainty of victory. They are both emperors after all. Plus they will have their crews with them."

Another moment of silence passed before Percy spoke again,

"If there's nothing else, we leave now. And remember, do not engage first. Even if they try provoke you."
