Arrival to Pewter City

"Use Metal Claw!"

I ordered as Charmander's Claws shined a silver color, it had a metallic look to it, it looked solid and whole, it wasn't like the iron tail that just started to become whole after two weeks of training it, Metal claw was different though, Charmander's evolution line is more attuned with their claws, so its easier to learn claw based attacks, along with already training with iron tail, Charmander already know how to draw out steel type energy.

"Char!!" he shouted as he slashed downwards on the Pidgey who was charging in with a quick attack but as it was on its last legs, it quickly fainted to the attack.

"Looks like metal claw is usable in battle now, it's time to move on now."

I said as Charmander looked happy with his accomplishment, he had quite the bounce in his step, although it could be a little faster, as well he should learn how to dodge, but, I'm gonna let him have this moment, it has been a constant failure with Iron tail so far, some achievement with something else would be good for mental health.

I picked but my bag and walked down the path with Charmander by my side.

=------------------------------------------------------------------------------------=

Normally when one walked through a route, forest or cave, there is a path laid out by Gym leaders, Officer Jennys, or Nurse Joys to the next city or town based on the shortest way to get there.

But since I walked off the path to get the pictures of Beedrill, Pikachu and Fearow, even then I ended up teleporting or using some kind of high-speed moment sending us even deeper into Viridian forest, we ended up spending over two months in Viridian Forest, we had to stay in one place to recover my own broken legs., I believed we were even close to the region border to Johto, I even saw a few Skarmory flying overheads, of course, I took pictures of them, who else can brag they saw a Pokemon that is only available in another region at the start of their adventure, other than Ash, or Goh, not much for sure.

About my newfound powers, I know psychics, aura masters, people that can heal Pokemon on a touch, people who can talk to Pokemon without telepathy, those who can fuse with Pokemon, those who can touch Pokemon and calm them down with a touch, those who attract Pokemon like Zubats in a cave, people who are Pokemon, Pokemon that are people, People who made Pokemon, Pokemon who made Pokemon, people who jumped into magma with no issue, people who took hyper beams from a Champion's Dragonite with no issue.

Safe to say that my own powers are nothing special in the long run, even then, the only thing I can do is create a tiny flame and speed myself up, with yellow butterflies covering me, I don't know why butterflies are around in the Pokemon world were real animals don't exist, they seem to be light constructs, maybe my abilities are light-based and the heat of the light I produce makes a flame from the surrounding air, but I don't have enough power to actually make enough light so I can see it.

But the bright side of things, I finally found my way to Pewter City, I sat there was a giant flat rock on the cliff, perform as a platform to overlook the city, but I wasn't going to stand on it, I have a record of falling off rocks and boulders.

I made my way into the city, it was surrounded by mountains and the biggest mountain which seems to be Mount Moon, the place of my next two Pokemon if I get lucky.

The city itself was pretty small compared to the ones that I'm used to, the Gym was basically A giant slab of rock balanced on a smaller slab of rocks, the Pokemon Center itself though was gigantic, it looked to be the size of a Football stadium, and had the height of one as well, it was a bit smaller than the Viridian City Pokemon Center from what I remember, but I couldn't say for sure, I only saw the thing for around 30 seconds before it got turned to dust.

There wasn't really much in terms of tourism, there is a museum that only features Kanto-based history, and then there is, not much else at all, a gym, but the gym isn't a tourism spot.

=-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------=

As I entered the Pokemon Center, the first thing I noticed was that the Pokemon center was almost filled with trainers with Pokemon, mainly secondary evolution grass or water types, some of them were injured, and others trainers were visibly nervous, from my perspective, they looked to be challenging the Gym.

I walked up to Nurse Joy and handed her Charmander, and then later registered for the League.

Although I was a bit late, there are still 12 months until the league actually starts, I have a year to catch a team, train them and battle the Gyms that are scattered in eight different areas, seven mono-type gyms with one generalist being the eighth gym, the default type for the eighth gym is ground, but more times than one is it, generalist.

A year of training may seem like a long time, but one has to consider traveling time and when you catch a Pokemon, most times a person doesn't even have more than 2 fully-evolved Pokemon, and most times those Pokemon are two-staged Pokemon if a person has a three-staged evolution, that would most likely be their only evolution with a possible two-stage if they are stone evolutions or catch them already evolved, so most trainers mainly have a team of unevolved Pokemon.

Ash going into leagues with unevolved Pokemon with one seemingly overtrained fully evolved Pokemon is standard for many trainers, what Ash does no longer seems strange to me.
