Chapter 015: Meddling in Others' Affairs

Noon after school.

Chloe slung her backpack over her shoulder. Upon exiting the school, she saw Marcella Thomas and others waiting under the shade of a tree.

"Chloe, let's go now, so we don't keep Oliver Gordon waiting." Shella Norton turned around and left.

The riverside route led to the hospital, which was the same route Chloe was to take.

"Marcella, I told you she would eagerly follow us."

"Dreaming about Oliver Gordon, without realizing her place."

"Can a straight-A student and an idiot be together?"

Their words were filled with mockery and disdain.

"Chloe, where are you going? This way."

Approaching the riverside road, she noticed Chloe had taken another route and hurriedly called after her.

Chloe, as if she hadn't heard, continued walking forward.

Shella Norton, infuriated, ran up and grabbed her, only for her hand to slip off Chloe's clothes.

This nearly caused Shella Norton to fall.

"Chloe, what are you doing? We went to great lengths to create this opportunity, so why are you acting crazy?"

Chloe looked indifferent.

Shella Norton turned her head, saw the river nearby, grit her teeth, and ordered, "Quick, over here. Help me!"

Dragging Chloe's hand, she headed towards the riverside.

Apart from Marcella Thomas, everyone else ran over to help.

*

Two minutes later.

"Splash!"

"Help me, I can't swim."

"Marcella!"

Marcella Thomas looked stunned as she saw Chloe throw several people into the river.

The last person tried to run away, but Chloe kicked them into the river.

Marcella Thomas was shockingly enraged. "Chloe, are you trying to murder someone?"

Chloe turned around and left without even glancing at Marcella Thomas.

Stepping up a flight of stairs, she saw Oliver Gordon standing there.

He was called out by Marcella Thomas; when he arrived, he saw Chloe committing such an act.

His eyebrows slightly frowned.

"Chloe, aren't you being too much?"

Chloe walked past him, remaining silent.

"Oliver Gordon, quickly save them!" Marcella Thomas shouted loudly.

Oliver Gordon had no time for Chloe, running to save the others.

*

Hospital.

Wilbert Foster and others had specially taken the day off to visit.

Standing in the ward, they were lecturing Yvette Foster.

"What on earth were you thinking? Sheffield City's Taylor Family's medical skills were the top-rated, but you dared to reject such an opportunity, you really drive me mad," Megan Gibson scolded, pointing at Yvette Foster, as if ready to poke through Yvette Foster's head.

Wilbert Foster chimed in, "Yvette, where are the Taylor Family now? Let's give them a call now…"

"Dad is recovering, we planned to leave the hospital today." Yvette Foster ignored their words.

"You're so obstinate! Do you have the Taylor Family's number? Quickly give them a call! You don't know how to seize such a great opportunity. You're just becoming more foolish." Megan Gibson was very unhappy.

"Mom, I know very well who the Taylors are. They only want to study Dad's body, not treat him."

"What does it matter, even if they research, he won't lose any flesh."

At this moment, Chloe entered the room.

The conversation inside suddenly stopped.

"Chloe is here."

Wilbert Foster felt somewhat awkward.

Chloe went over to Fred Foster's bedside: "Are you leaving the hospital today?"

Fred Foster didn't want to stay in the hospital any longer. "If it's possible, I'd rather leave as soon as possible."

"What discharge? Looking at your condition, who will take care of you when you're out? If something bad happens, who's accountable? Yvette?" Megan Gibson was dissatisfied. "Listen to your daughter for everything, it's still our children who will have to take care of you when you're old."

Megan Gibson wanted him to recognize who his real children were.

Fred Foster's face darkened. "Yvette is also our child."

"She's married off, just like water poured out. Not only has she not brought any benefit for the family, she even brought back a big problem," while saying this, Megan Gibson gave Chloe a cold look.

Chloe ignored her and told Yvette Foster, "I will handle the discharge procedures."

"Let Mom handle it."

"That's not happening, we are not letting him out. Go and bring the Taylor family back, tell them the Foster family agrees to let them continue their research."

Fred furrowed his brows, "We've prepared all the paperwork, now we're just waiting to pay the bill so he can be discharged."

Were they really intending to give in to the Taylor family so easily?

Chloe took the documents that Fred had prepared and left to settle the bill.

"Chloe..." Wilbert intended to stop her, but he was silenced by the girl's icy glare.

Having a connection with a wealthy family from Sheffield City was a once in a lifetime opportunity, but Fred casually let it slip away.

Chloe left the hospital room.

*

After paying the bill, they brought Fred back to the Foster family home.

When they got home, Yvonne hurriedly rushed out. She saw them and was so anxious that she grabbed Wilbert's hand. "Wilbert, go check on Xavier. He has a high fever and he keeps talking in his sleep."

"What?" Megan, Old Madam Hawthorne, was terrified.

They paid no attention to Fred and hurried upstairs.

Soon, Wilbert came down with Xavier in his arms, quickly got in the car, and rushed to the hospital.

The house suddenly became quiet.

"Chloe, you're going to be late for school. Your Grandfather and I are here, here is some money so you can buy something to eat on the way."

Chloe took the money and left the house.

*

She went to buy some street food and was about to pay when a slender hand extended a big note.

Chloe turned her head and saw a tall man standing next to her.

The people around them were pointing and whispering, and several girls gasped at Len's divine beauty.

"Have you not eaten yet?"

His narrow black eyes looked down at her.

Chloe hummed in response and took the prepared food.

Len pointed to the car parked outside, "Let's eat in the car."

Chloe successfully sat in the car and started eating while they headed to school.

"What happened that day?" Len finally asked about what happened on Saturday.

"What?"

"You entered the building, how did you get in?"

"I just walked in."

Len curled his lips, "Little Sister, lying can get you punished, you know."

Chloe ignored him and continued eating her food.

After a moment of silence, Len said, "Our investigation confirmed that those items were most likely targeted at you."

Chloe paused her chewing, lowered her head, and continued eating.

"Have you offended anyone recently?"

"No."

"Little sister, I helped you, don't you think you should at least cooperate?"

"Help? What help?"

Seeing Chloe's puzzled expression, Len reminded her, "I drove the Taylor family out of the county town."

Chloe glanced at him, "Mind your own business."

"..."

*

As soon as she entered the classroom, someone called Chloe away.

"Chloe, the teaching director wants you to go to his office."

Three minutes later.

The sound of sobbing came from the office and a few parents standing in the office were frowning, talking to the teaching director and Miss Hunter.

Seeing Chloe, the parents turned around and glared at her coldly.

"Mr. Sullivan, this is the student who pushed my daughter into the water. She may look innocent, but her actions are malicious. How does your school educate its students?"

The one speaking was Shella's mother.

Her words criticized all the teachers.

The teaching director's face darkened.

Miss Hunter was annoyed and frustrated. The issue with the two students wasn't resolved yet, and now Chloe was causing more trouble.

Besides pulling down the class average, Chloe was also causing disruptions. Why did Class 2 have such troublesome students?

"Mrs. Norton, don't be angry. It might be a misunderstanding among the students."

Despite her irritation, as a teacher, Miss Hunter still needed to handle the situation.

Mrs. Norton sneered, "Misunderstanding? Last time, it was also her who locked my daughter in the bathroom and beat her up. Miss Hunter, we demand the school take serious action, they should expel the students who deserve to be expelled. Should such students continue to harm others?"
