betrayal Leads to a river of blood

"It seems, you two are better off than I thought you would be." Says a voice they both recognize.

"Sensei!" they both shout as they see Ren walk out of the building.

"Did you two sleep last night?" asked Ren

"No." they both answered.

"So what are you two doing here anyway?"

"I... need your help sensei," Ami answered.

"Me too."

"Oh, well let's go to my apartment and talk," he says as he turns and enters the building as Ami and Gari follow behind him.

(In Ren's apartment)

Ren is sitting facing his two students as he drinks some tea, clearly waiting for them to speak first, but seeing them just sitting there he finally decides to start.

"I am guessing you came hoping I could help you get over what you did yesterday."

"Yes," they answer

"Well, how can I help?"

"What did you do after you killed for the first-time sensei?" asked Ami

"..."

OF all the questions, he didn't expect them to ask this but Ren didn't see a problem with telling them.

"After my first kill. I came back to the village and reported the completion of the mission then went to sleep, woke up the next day, and killed some more."

Ami and Gari were surprised, they didn't know what they expected to hear but it certainly wasn't this.

"So you felt nothing?"

"...."

Sigh!!

"Look, I had long come to terms with killing as a part of being a ninja, so even though it affected me it didn't for long, nor was it enough to stop me from doing what I needed to do."

"But doesn't it bother you, killing others, being so prevalent in being a ninja?"

"...."

Suddenly the atmosphere in the room changed, as Ren's attitude became serious.

"That kind of thinking doesn't belong in this era, you two would not know this but right now this village is preparing for not one but two wars. When that time comes do you think our enemies would have this attitude, the era you were born into is one of war and death, it may seem unfair but for you to survive in this era you will need to be able to kill to survive when war breaks out it will be or duties as a ninja of the village to take to the battlefield where it will be kill or be killed."

Shocked at the sudden information, the two sat there quietly, shock evident on their faces.

"Just Imagine Enemy forces invading this village rapeing the village women killing children, stripping the village bare, could you stand that sight?"

"Are you fools who refuse to kill and then when something like that happens decides that you will kill now blaming the losses on the invaders when truthfully it is your fault that you refused to kill those that would dare to harm what you hold dear?"

"....."

"....."

"NO! I would never let it come to that." They both answer with firm resolve

"Good, you've made your choice, I should have to tell you the news of war is not to be spread right?"

"Yes sensei"

"Good, it looks like we have company."

Swoosh!

"Ren, the Tsuchikage has called for you it urgent." says An stone Anbu that is now standing in the apartment.

"Okay, I'll head over now."

"Sensei can we come?"

"Nope, the Tsuchikage just asked for me."

"Ren, the Tsuchikage said it was up to you if you want to bring your team after hearing the mission details."

"Oh."

(Tsuchikage Office)

"Ren, I see you brought your team," says Onoki

"Yeah, what's the mission you have for me?" asked Ren

"A village to the south has teamed up with an enemy nation and has caused the deaths of three chunin and two jonin from the village."

Ren's team stood behind him listening to them talk as the first statement shocked them greatly.

"A village in the land of Earth betrayed us? why?" asked Ren.

"It, because of the hidden rain, the hidden rain and its leader Hanzo had been robbing this village of its food, and they had reported to the village but as we couldn't send a Kage level ninja to fight Hanzo as the Kage level ninja would lose, and if I went and lose or was even killed the village would be in danger, we had left the village to Hanzo as long as he didn't kill any villagers and did this discreetly so no other village caught word of this, as it would damage our reputation, and Hanzo understood this and did just so as he knew it would result in war between the stone and rain, and no matter how strong he is he couldn't stand the complete force of the stone alone."

" But, something happened didn't it," stated Ren

" Yes, apparently a villager when to the leaf and begged for help, and somehow Hanzo came to an agreement with the leaf, and since then whenever our ninja went to that village they haven't returned."

"So the village thinks we abandoned them so they betrayed us, any idea what the leaf gave Hanzo?" asked Ren

" No, we only found out this information recently as the last jonin managed to torture a villager and send back this information before being killed."

" What's the mission?"

" I want you to completely destroy that village, leave none of the villagers alive, and kill any enemy forces present in the village."

The kids were horrified that the decision was made and the two speakings looked as if the decision hadn't affected them as Ren asked another question.

"How many people live in the village?"

" last we knew it was close to one thousand."

" very well, and I am allowed to eliminate the rain village nin as well?"

" Yes."

" I'll set out immediately."

Ren's team knew soon a massacre would occur and blood would flow like a river in the land of earth.
