Chapter 25: Terrors Divulged

Ryre left without another word, dragging the two boys along with him. Gisella felt a swell of emotions in her, most of all thankfulness, due to Ryre’s intervention.

Her eyes moved from the unconscious boy on the ground to a coughing Otho. His face was already starting to sport a purple mark on his right cheek and she knew he must have about a dozen more all over his body with the way those boys were attacking him.

She didn’t have any time to consider what else may have been wrong with him before she was being pushed aside.

“Get away from my brother, you wretch,” one of the girls said, “Haven’t you laid your hands on enough men in this castle already?”

Offended and shocked, Gisella raised her voice to the women in front of her, “And what exactly do you mean by that?”

The women in front of her only scoffed.
