Chapter 26: A Second Attempt

The day had come when the troupe was expected to perform. Gisella felt something in her stomach then; she was nervous.

Gisella had never felt nervous about her dance, not since her early training days, and she didn’t know how to handle all the emotions that shot towards her.

“You’ll be alright,” Roseia encouraged.

But Gisella knew she didn’t know if that was true or not either. Otho had still yet to recover from his injuries from his attack, his entire body was littered with bruises and he felt pain whenever he walked.

“We’ll have to be, won’t we?” Gisella said. It was her light hearted attempt at trying to make a joke in this situation but neither of them smiled.

“I hate them so much.” Gisella heard her say from beside her.

At this point, Gisella could not blame Roseia for her feelings of contempt towards the people of this castle. Less so the servants, she thought as a memory of Ivan flashed through her mind, but more so those who wore the silver and gold bands.
