The cosmic foundry roared, it's miniature sun burning away in crackling licks of flame as I dumped the vibranium ores onto the hard light conveyer belt and discarded the glass containers into a portal. They were of no use to me anymore.
I had gathered all the materials required and returned home again.
Star was playing on the computer and Riley was still asleep.
Good.
Now it was time to forge my daughter her very own god killing weapon.
Before she wakes up, as promised.
Pulling out a flask of mega seed juice, I downed the whole acrid solution in a heartbeat.
I watched as the world dissolved in pure maths and rational forms, everything, every truth seemingly just a touch and a glance away, begging to be explored.
It felt as if the world itself was at my fingertips, that I could reach out and grab reality by the balls.
The feeling, be it the first or the 5000th time experiencing it.... it never gets old.
I smiled.
Let's grab reality by the balls then.
Part one. The blades.
The vibranium melted into motes of bubbling orange white slag, suspended in the density field.
I adjusted the filters on the field as the slag passed through, separating the slag, impurities and other minerals from the pure ore at the molecular level to get the purest form possible.
Then, came the pounding. Of the metal. Using my gravitron press, with the fine tuned force of a captive black hole I evened out the ore, and the gravity well pulled, forcing it into the desired shape in a vacuum to avoid contamination from other elements.
Slowly and steadily, refining the process over and over again, I shaped the ore into a sharp blade. Eight of them to be exact.
Each burning white hot.
And while the metal was hot, I sent in my nano swarm, to reshape it's atomic structure into a specialized matrix, making it tougher and stronger yet more enduring and flexible.
Next came the quenching.
With a thought, a portal opened up below the blades, sending them to Charn, the ice world I used as a heat sink.
There, through a portal I activated my telekinetic module and gripped the eight blades, sinking them deep into the glaciers dotting the landscape, quenching the blades in the purest crystal springs, imbued with the old dead magic of a bygone era before time itself.
It would make sure that they were able to resist the rot of time and it's ability to wear down even the toughest materials.
It was no magic, but it was close enough to it that I could make it work.
Well, aside from the other reinforcements I was going to make so it wasn't as if it was a make it or break it arrangement.
I would toughen them up myself too.
The blades came out, quenched and ready for the processing.
I brough them back to the workshop and laid them out over a machining table, and got to work.
First came the drilling and fitting, as I put holes and magnetic gimbals through the holes, to attach it to a base.
Then came the polarity plating, to prevent magnetic interference from affecting their performance.
Then, the glazing, to give the surface of the blades a shimerring wave of patterns. A more natural, palatable look. Perfection is good, but too much of anything can look out of place.
Without the glaze the blades looked almost as if they were CGI. They were just that perfectly made.
The glazing however gave them a new life, a pattern of flowing waves, making them look as if the blades were made of flowing silver, glistening under the light.
Thirdly, I pulled out a gravity gun and adjusted the dial on it to make it spread out it's effect.
With it, I shot the blades, scanning over them with the gravity beams, to make their atomic matrix lighter than and sturdier.
Don't want Riley's leg getting buffer than Schwarzenegger with the weight she'd be lugging around, after all!
Another layer of polarity plating was applied after, just in case.
And finally, the finishing touches.
An inscription on each blade.
A dedication, to my daughter.
"May these blades protect you when I cannot."
That's a nice touch.
I smiled, running my hands along the blades, inadvertently cutting myself.
Suckling on my forefinger I put aside the blades and pulled out an old frame from one of my prototype suits.
Specifically, the leggings.
Time for the second component.
Part two. The frame.
Stripping away the modded kevlar and ceramic plating, and the hardlight enforcer shielding, I pulled out the thigh patches, made of a light but durable extradimensional alloy.
Using them as a base I fashioned a ring of metal and soft polyfiber, set in with a near frictionless and satin soft padding to prevent scrapes from movement and rubbing to get two bracelets...armlets? Leglets?
Whatever those are called.
Bracers for the thighs, with four holes carved out within.
"Computer, get me a sample of those leftover Endbringer muscle tissues." I ordered.
A canister shot out from the storage wall and landed gently on my table, before me, popping open to reveal a purple-black mass of tissue with grey veins and neon blue, almost transparent viscous fluid for blood.
I nodded in appreciation. This was a set of tissues I had made in an attempt to create my own Endbringers.
The plan hadn't quite gone as planned, hence Galatea having to stay back to search for the remaining ones, but the results weren't half bad.
Muscle tissue and nerve sets tough enough to survive a nuke and walk it off like mosquito bite.
Veins so tough, I had to disintegrate them to get through.
A complete god roach of a design.
Yup.
Not quite Endbringer material I wanted but close enough to what I needed.
This will do.
I took the tissue and began to drip reagents onto it, telekinetically shaping it into a bio chip structure, chemically programming a functional algorithm into it that would serve as at the operating code of the whole machine.
I could have made a partial A.I. for it, but it's her first weapon. I don't want to spoil Riley.
I can always add it in later if need be.
Next, I extended out the receptor and sensors on the tissues and curled them further into a sort of aoft brush of sensory nuerons.
A miniature brain.
One each for the two bracers.
With the control mechanism ready, I slid the tissue into a thin niche I had left out for them in the bracers and soaked them in a nutrient mixture. Adding in a pinch of growth formula and a slight but fast acting mutagen, the tissues sucked up the nutrients solution and grew into the niche, effectively fusing with the bracers, the bio chip's receptors extending out of the niche, just shy of breaching the boundary as it coiled around them like an overgrown oak, gnarled roots digging out of the bracers and forming musculature on it's surface.
This way when she wears them, her thighs will be in touch with the receptors so she can use her shard to mentally control the blades' movements.
With that, the frame was complete.
I brought out the blades, threading their gimbals through the holes in the bracers, before soaking it in a nutrient mixture again.
Thsi time, the tissue grew out over the gimbals, wrapped around the two components and then onto the blades' handles, acting as the muscke to make the blades move.
A completely biological motor of sorts, photosynthetic and photovoltaic in nature, making it more pet than weapon.
A living murder plant of sorts. Just made of meat. Endbringer meat.
Finally, I passed the whole thing through a magnetizer array to magnetically lock them in place and make sure they don't fly off in battle even after the monster muscles tire out, just in case. Though, that was unlikely to ever happen.
Better to be safe than sorry.
With that done, I took a step back and admired my creation. Two thigh bracers, each with four razor sharp vibranium blades attached to them, allowing for three dimensional mobility and attacks from any and every angle.
A perfect combination of attack and defense.
And they looked like spider legs. Something Riley adored.
Was it creepy that she liked spiders so much?
Yes.
Was I going to do anything about it?
Nope.
She can like whatever she wants.
My parents discouraged me from anything I liked.
Out of good intentions yes, but look at where that got me!
A success, yes. But also horribly apathetic and cold.
I don't want that for Riley.
I still love my parents and all, but they sucked when it came to discussing their kids' hopes and dreams, maybe because they themselves didn't have that choice given to them in their lives.
Maybe they thought such a choice didn't exist at all.
I swore to be better than them.
And I will be.
Just two more things to do now.
I unlocked my shard, and let the power through me, as the room lit up with a kaleidoscopic aura casting a halo around me, motes of multicoloured iridiscent light floating around me like little fireworks.
I grabbed the bracers and folded the blades into themselves, before pushing my power into it, layering enchantment after enchantment, concept after concept onto it.
The first concept I tied to it was flight.
The blades, stretched like wings could allow her the conceptual power of flight, unhindered movement across the sky.
The second concept I attached to it was unbreakable. To make extra sure that they were durable.
The third concept I attached was the ability to shoot laser beams, condensed from the solar energy they took up, basically goving them Superman's heat vision.
Because it never hurts to have some long range capabilities.
The fourth and final concept however was the most important.
Self preservation. I gave the weapon a tinge of sentience and extreme protective feelings, to make sure she doesn't accidentally lop off her own head with it.
I know I should trust my kids more but no way am I trusting an excitable little girl with a living eldritch murder weapon without making sure she won't hurt herself.
Now that I think about it, I really should focus on training with my shard powers.
I mean, the ability to turn anything I touch into a noble phantasm was goddamn overpowered.
Can't be wasting that.
I have another year or so to spare before the crap really kicks off here in the MCU. Might as well put it to good use.
"Computer, remind me to start practicing with my shard power tomorrow morning, first thing." I commanded.
"Yes, sir." The A.I. replied and a ping notified me that it had been added to my to do list for tomorrow.
Now then.
I yawned and stretched, with satisfying pops and crackles echoing lightly in the workshop.
"Hrrmmmm!" I groaned, and gave the weapon one last look over, before atomizing the blades into nubs on the bracers, functional particulate tech.
With a thought the portable weapon could be unfurled like a cocoon, anytime, anywhere.
Let's wake Riley up and see how she likes her new pet/weapon!
