Joon Woke Up

Jaya took the glass--which contained sugar water--from the small table. They were in the 2nd floor room of this cafe now. Jaya knelt down and handed the drink to Joon who was still sitting leaning against Kenichi's chest.

"Drink first, Honey. I already made you some porridge, let Daddy Ken get it." Jaya said. After that, he glanced at Kenichi, signaling the young man to take porridge in the cafe kitchen, downstairs.

Kenichi took a deep breath to suppress his emotions. He got up and headed downstairs. There was a little remorse for hitting Jaya earlier, but he was proud to apologize.

Jaya takes over, he pulls Joon's head to rest against his broad chest. "Joon is all right, isn't he? Which one still hurts, honey?" Jaya spoke softly.

Joon shook his head weakly. He looked up to see his father Jaya's face clearly.

"Father?"

"Hmm?"

"Don't fight with Daddy anymore just because of me! Joon doesn't like to see you guys fighting."

"Ahahaha, we were just joking, honey. Not a real fight. It's the same as Joon and Gilang who always fight, understand?" Jaya spoke softly. He gently stroked Joon's face, which still looked pale.

Joon nodded. The atmosphere was silent for a few moments.

"Father?"

"What else, Joon?"

"I'm sorry ...."

Jaya's forehead wrinkled hearing the apology. He lifted Joon's chin to face him again. "Sorry for what?"

"Sorry for being weak all this time. Also sorry for being a burden to you guys." Joon spoke softly. There was a feeling of guilt surrounding his heart. He regretted that he had been naughty and unreliable all this time.

Jaya's heart ached to hear those words come out of the thin lips of the teenager--whom he had raised since childhood--that. Jaya hugged Joon's limp body much tighter.

"Joon no need to apologize! Remember dad's words! Joon is not a burden and Joon is not weak. So don't talk about that nonsense again, promise?"

Joon nodded, obediently.

After a few minutes, Kenichi came with a bowl of porridge that was still warm. He just heated it up.

"Joon is now eating porridge and taking vitamins, right? Father first went to the market to buy our needs."

"Joon bought meatballs, chicken noodles, satay, soto, rawon, pecel rice and nasi padang too, Dad. It feels like Joon hasn't eaten for a year."

Jaya and Kenichi laughed at Joon's request. It's also true what Jaya said earlier, Joon will wake up by himself if he feels hungry.
