Chapter 7- Poisonous

After Amy said that, his golden eyes shone brightly in annoyance. He turn around and went to his tent, Amy sat on a big rock beside the tree and began to eat her food that Phoenix gave to her.

'What's with him? After he ask me he's just going to leave like that?' She said in her mind while tearing a small piece of bread then dipped it to the soup.

After eating, she went to Daniel's tent but he's not there. She saw Apollo who was outside near his tent and ask him.

"Sir Dixon, do you happen to see where Daniel is?"

"Ah the young Daniel? Commander Adelard summoned him to his tent." he said while pointing his head to the direction of Phoenix' tent.

Amy thanked him then enter the tent. She placed a blanket on the ground to be her bed for the night and then rest. It's late at night but Daniel isn't back to the tent yet.

'Why did Commander Adelard summoned him? Did something happen?' While thinking in confusion, Amy fell asleep.

She woke up at dawn and fix her long brown hair, tied it to a ponytail above her head. When she went outside the tent the knights are starting to prepare themselves to depart, then she saw Daniel approaching her.

"Eve, did you have a good sleep?"

"A little bit...but where were you? I heard that Commander Adelard summoned you, did something happened?"

"Hahaha no nothing happened, we just have a knight and Commander talk." He said while showing a smile on his face then enter his tent.

Amy went to her horse and prepare it for their departure. Phoenix lead them at the front as usual, while on their way to Citadel City Amy felt like her legs was about to be in pain very badly when they return to the castle as it is started to sting a little bit.

Suddenly, while riding her horse, her hair tie broke and her long hair fell on her back.

'Arg! Not now.'

Phoenix who was at the front riding his horse turn his head at the back and looked at her. A smile was formed on his lips as he glance at her beauty and its hair flying from behind then return his head. It is so fascinating.

'Such a beautiful woman'

The sun was at the top of their head whey got back to Citadel City. Amy got off from her horse and the hostlers took their horses to the stable.

"Take a rest for now and we will have a dinner feast later." Phoenix instructed them and the knights rejoiced at what they heard then separately returned to their rooms.

Phoenix shortly took a glance at Amy then entered the castle.

"Ah! I think I'll be needing a week of rest" she said as he jumped on the bed spreading her arms and legs.

Amy fell asleep in a span of couple minutes as she was extremely exhausted. She woke up and noticed that it's already dark.

'I must be really tired'

She went to dining area and it began to be filled with knights in a couple of minutes. The tables are full of magnificent food, steaks and different kinds of wine. She widened her eyes to what she was seeing and took a chair near Daniel's seat.

"It's always like this when we returned home safely and complete when doing the operation." Daniel said and took a bite on his steak.

"I hope we have an operation everytime." She said jokingly and they both laughed.

Phoenix arrived at the dining area not long after Amy arrive. He sat beside Apollo and then eat. After a while they started to drink wine and the dining area began to filled with chattering and laughed.

His eyes turned to where she is, two tables apart from him. Amy was drinking and laughing together with the other knight, he looked at her precious smile as he realized that she was smiling beautifully at men.

He let go at the glass wine he was holding at and it gave a loud sound, all of the chattering and laughing suddenly disappeared. They all looked at Phoenix as he stood up from his seat.

"Ahem...I want to congratulate everyone for returning home safely and that no one's life was taken today. Great job." As he said his last speech, he raised his glass wine gesturing for a cheers.

Everyone raised their glass and took a sip, as everyone applauded Phoenix was about to leave the dining area.

"Commander Adelard, are you leaving already?" Apollo said.

"I'm just taking a walk, enjoy everything and take a rest."

Amy was having fun laughing and drinking with Daniel and the other knights when suddenly, she felt dizzy and nauseous below her stomach.

'I must be drunk, I should stop here.'

She stepped out of the dining area and went outside. While walking she felt like her head was spinning and her face as red as rose was steaming hot. She reached a dark pace outside the castle, behind it there was a small lake with so many purple hyacinths and various kind of flowers around.

There was a small bridge in the middle of the lake connecting to the other side with so many different kinds of flowers. She stepped on the bridge wanting to get to the other side, when she reached the other side she hurriedly went to the flowers that was dancing by the wind. Their beautiful petals and addictive smell were intoxicating her.

Amy noticed a bell like flower standing near her, its pinkish color shone brightly by the moonlight. When she was going to touch it someone huge grab her small hand.

"Don't touch it."

A man with golden eyes was glaring at her with concern.

"Pardon?"

"Do you know what kind of flower is that!! Don't let its color fool you, it's poisonous." He shouted at her while still holding her hands in the air.

"Ah...sorry, I-I didn't know. But...can you let go of my hand? It hurts." He hurriedly let go of his hands as he realized that he was holding it tightly.

"What are you doing here this late at night? Don't you want to rest?"

"I feel like I'm getting drunk from the wine that's why I thought to take a walk to ease my dizziness and I saw this beautiful lake." She said staring at him with its her purple eyes.

"..."

"Ahm...Commander Adelard, may I ask a question?"

"What?"

"What kind of flower is this?."

"It's a foxglove flower and it's indeed poisonous."

"If it's poisonous then, why did you plant it here?."

"Because it can heal different diseases."

She nodded her head as a satisfaction to her answer then walk around while Phoenix was behind watching her. She stopped walking, turn around and ask him a question.

"Ah Commander Adelard why are you here too?"

He just stare at her while saying something in his mind.

'Are you really asking? It's because you were showing your precious smile to anybody. It's annoying.'

She walked again because he didn't give her an answer. 'If he's not going to answer me then why is he following me?'.

A suffocating silence filled the surroundings, only the wind hitting the flowers can be heard. She suddenly stumbled over a rock and Phoenix catched her holding her in her slim waist.
