Chapter Thirty Four

Julia is restless, the sound of the thunder roaring and the rain on the tent. It is dark, and they are in the middle of nowhere.

Waking up to a loud sound, she looks around, wishing Robert was by her.

There is a shadow outside the tent as she takes out her gun.

"Breath Julia, your training taught you to be in control of the outcome in every situation."

She is aware when you are tired. Your mind can play tricks on you.

Rather than be safe, she unzips the tent halfway as the wind and rain are gusting through.

She puts her head outside the tent, looking around. There is no one.

Zipping up the tent, she looks around. Kathy is sitting up, looking at her.

"Honey, did I wake you up?"

Kathy shakes her head no, she looks pales and her lips are dry.

"Are you feeling sick?"

Kathy does not answer. She stands up and moves closer to her mom.

Julia can feel her body feels feverish. Her cheeks are red.

She touches her forehead, but her temperature feels normal.

"Let's get some sleep."
