Halloween

It was finally Halloween. Ashlynn didn't like Halloween. It was a sad memory. Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vermon would never allow her to go trick or treating. She would watch kids dressing up and getting treats with their friends in the backyard. Dudley would always brag about his sweets.

In charms, they were learning the Wingardium Leviosa charm. It was fabulous. Ashlynn softly touched the feather and stroked it. Then she placed it on her desk and pointed her wand at it. She muttered, "WIngardium Leviosa". Her feather slowly rose from her desk. Professor Flitwick looked at her and smiled. Ashlynn noticed that Hermione had also made her feather rise. Professor Flitwick gave them each 3 points. Ashlynn wasn't surprised that Hermione had succeeded. She was a smart girl even though she didn't like her. She was bossy and too talkative. Hermione had been treating her like her rival or something ever since she had realized that Ashlynn was good in class.

After school was over, Ashlynn went to the lake. It was very peaceful. She sat down on a rock and opened the second year potions book and started to read it. She could hear the waves, wind and birds singing. She smiled.

Ashlynn was reading for about an hour when the silence was broken. A cure hit her. Ashlynn jumped, expecting painful boils or something far worse. But she saw that her black clothes had all turned red. Red with yellow stripes! Gryffindor's signature colors! She wiped around and saw two boys, one with black hair and the other with red hair, running away. She sighed. Couldn't she have one day of peace and quiet?! SHe looked at her clothes again. This was a simple curse. A color changing one. She could change them back right now. But when she tried, nothing happened. Ashlynn suddenly realized that those two boys who were obviously Ronald and Harry had messed up this simple curse. They had messed up the curse that the counter spell couldn't work.

It was already time for the feast in the great hall. All the teachers and students were there. She could ask a professor to change her clothes back.BUt the students would see her as well. Her reputation in the school was bad enough. If she walked in like this, the Slytherins would be disgusted even more (If that was possible) and every student body would laugh at her. She should wait till the feast is over in the bathroom and ask a professor for help.

Picking up her book, Ashlynn walked towards the bathroom hoping that soup and water might do the trick.

When she arrived at the girl's bathroom, she heard someone crying. She was irritated that someone else was here but she knew the girl who was crying wasn't going to come out quickly. SO she stayed quiet and tried to wash out the red and yellow ink from her robes. After a few minutes, her robes were clean. Ashlynn got curious how the Golden duo had messed up the curse. She was about to leave when she saw a troll. She got a bad feeling and she did a disillusionment charm she had learned a few days ago on herself. She was now invisible.

The troll looked rather confused but quickly forgot about it. The troll turned to the stalls. Suddenly Hermione Granger came out. When she saw the troll, she screamed. The troll lifted its club and smashed the stalls. Even Though Hermione managed to duck out of the way, she got hit by the stall wood that exploded. Hermione fell to the floor and she fainted. Ashlynn was shocked. It had happened too quickly. Even If she didn't like Hermione, she didn't want her dead. She had to kill the troll.

Ashlynn faced the troll who was now trying to kill Hermione. Ashlynn pointed her wand and muttered the bludgeoning Hex. It was her first time trying this spell and she had just read about it in the library. She put extra magic in the Hex. She put her unpleasant feelings in the Hex. And it might have been too much but the troll got a huge impact on it's head that the head started to bleed and it died. Ashlynn looked at Hermione. She was still unconscious. She thought about bringing her to the nurse when she heard footsteps. She saw the Golden Duo. And a few minutes later, she could hear more footsteps.

Ashlynn had to go. She silently crept back to her dorm.

When she was safely in her room, Ashlynn undid her disillusionment charm. She was very tired. It was too much magic. Disillusionment charm and a bludgeoning Hex. They were both fourth year and above level spells. Besides, she had put too much magic in her second spell. She was sleepy. And soon, her room was filled only with Ashlynn's exhausted breath.
