CH 26

"Ms. Clover, it's great you are here now." Cass looked at Rose confidently after she said that. She was so sure that she has won now that the secretary of the CEO was here. No one argue with the process, only the results... and this results is so glaring.

"It's against the company's ethnics to retain a staff who is been defamed on the internet as it could cause a decrease in company's stock"

Cass said.

Ms. Clover doesn't really know the true identity of Rose, only that she was really rich. So she decided that she won't offend Rose neither will she honor here, but she will act according to the law and the rules. This was her turf, she wasn't gonna let a little girl who's still wet behind her ears get the best of her.

"Yes, that is true there is a part of our code of ethics that says something about that"

"Yes, and the reprecussion for ruining our company's image is been fired. Ms. Clover I implore that you help us solve this issue."

Ms. Clover looked at Cass with disguised disgust,

'Was this b*tch trying to use me for her own benefits? How dare she?'

Just because she doesn't like Rose, that doesn't mean that she liked Cass either. She didn't like this Cass b*tch at all and she wasn't planning on letting her go scot free.

"Yes, of course. If she is found guilty, she'll be be laid off. Don't you agree, Ms. Rose? But there is something else that I'll have to deal with." Ms. Clover said.

Rose looked at these two jumping clowns in front of her, there acting skills where so terrible. She looked at this Ms. Clover and shaked her head, she really didn't know how she offended this one again but one thing she's sure of is that now that Ms. Clover has offended her... ha.

"What do you have to deal with?" Rose inquired.

"Of course, someone will have to be suspended first"

"Yes yes, suspension." Cass said with the mindset that it was Rose that she was talking about.

"The reason behind this is due to slander of fellow colleague, and the staff been punished is Ms. Cassandra"

Ms. Clover been the secretary to the CEO had the right to mete out punishments to staffs.

"Yes yes... what?!" It took a while for the name Ms. Clover said at the end to hit Cass.

"Me?!!" Cass was stupified.

"Yes, for one week"

"I'm sorry that can't be possible, it's not slander unless it's wrong and that post has not been proven wrong." Cass said righteously.

Ms. Clover was vexed that Cass dared go against her in public like this... But she could not say anything because Cass right. Now, a part of her really wish that the photo was proven wrong.

"So you both agree that if your claims are proven wrong, Ms. Cass will be suspended for a month for slander right?"

A part of Cass freaked out, "Ms. Clover said a week!"

"Oh I see, are you scared that you'll actually be found guilty? Since you think you are not guilty, one week or one month... it really shouldn't matter, should it? Or is it possible that you really posted incorrect information?" Rose smiled at Cass.

"She seems so sure of herself then"

"Right, but now she's freaking out"

"Could she really be guilty of it?"

"True, since she lied to us once, she might have been lying all along"

"Exactly, Rose looks too innocent to do that kind of thing"

"No! Don't you know that it's the innocent looking ones that are usually guilty. I stand by my word that the post is accurate" Cass freaked out with the crowd against her that she just blurted out whatever was on her mind. After she said that, she reassured herself that nobody would find out about what she did.

"Really?" Damien who has kept mum since finally spoke up.

Cass looked at him, why was he speaking up now.

"Yes" Cass reaffirmed.

"So if it turns out that you really posted it, You would go by the company rules and leave this company for good?" Damien asked again.

Rose looked at Damien, 'He seemed to have found something' she thought. Damien looked at her and rubbed her hands reassuredly. Rose knew that she didn't have to expose her identity anymore, he seemed to have found another way.

Cass fretted, 'Could they have found something out? No that's impossible, I contacted a very capable hacker to erase the videos from that day. But I can't be so certain.'

"No, I don't mean it like that"

Immediately Cass said that, she noticed that both Damien and Rose immediately heaved a sigh of relief. Rose knew that Damien was setting an detailed trap against Cass, so she chose to put her trust in him and act with him.

Ms. Clover who was watching all these, was also wondering if maybe they had found proof that Rose is not guilty, but she when she observed Rose's and Damien's reaction to Cass's denial, she felt that they had nothing.

She immediately said, "No no"

"I meant that no one is above the law, if peradventure I am found guilty, I should also follow the rules" Cass said righteously. She noticed that as she said that, Damien and Rose seemed a bit frightened and perturbed.

'Yes, I had made the right decision.' Cass thought.

"Are you really sure about this?" Rose asked.

Cass noticed that Rose was holding her breathe.

"Yes, yes I'm sure. No one is above the law."

"Alright then" Rose said.

"So where's your proof?" Cass asked.

"Or could it be that you really have no proof and you are just trying to avoid the matter?"

"Yes, this has been going on for a long time and we don't still know who is right and who is wrong"

"Obviously, it's Rose that's at fault... see the video is still on the company's homepage"

"But Cass lied that she wasn't the one who posted it and she was. How sure are we that's she didn't photo shop the video?"

"It's not possible, it's not a picture but a video... could it really be photoshopped."

The crowd was divided into three sides, one who supported Cass's claim, the other who believed that Rose looked too innocent to do that kind of thing and the last, the neutrals, who just wanted to watch a good show.

Someone suddenly said,

"Everyone, check the company's homepage."

Everyone took out their phones and looked at the homepage, expecting some juicy news. And they were not disappointed. Gasps and different mutterings could be heard from their mouth.

They were all enthralled with the video that they were watching, Damien brought out his earpiece, handed Rose his phone and gently inserted the earpiece into her ears.

Ms. Clover and Cass was wondering what was going on she also took out her phone and looked at it.

Cass body felt weak as she started watching the video, 'Is that not me?'

'Is this not the motel that I did that?'

As she watched the video, fear gripped her.

"How?!!" She said.

"I said how's this possible?! I made sure to delete the video, why is it still here?!"

Most of the staff had finished watching the video, just looked at Cass, they couldn't believe that there was someone as heartless as Cass. They heard what she said and they were further convinced that she was the one in the video who said all those horrible things.

Ms. Clover who was standing beside Cass quietly moved away from her. She couldn't afford to be associated with someone like her.

The content of the video showed Cass with some men and "Rose" in the motel. But on closer look, it was only the side of her face that bore such close resemblance to Rose's own. In it, Cass instructed the men with her to take compromising positions with "Rose" in intervals as she took their pictures. To make the situation worse, the video that was posted has the audio intact. So all the wicked things Cass said about Rose in the video was audible.

"No no no this can't be" Cass said.

"That's not me. It's really not me"

Rose removed the earpiece from her ears and looked at Cass who was acting like a mad person, waving her hands around trying to convince the crowd that she was innocent.

'Pity? No I don't feel any pity for her, it's what she sow that she has reaped now'

"Yes, it must have been them." Cass pointed to Damien and Rose. "They must have photoshopped all these"

"Look at her still not admitting that she did it"

"Exactly, the truth is glaring at her face"

"So she was lying"

"Hey, I remember you saying that Cass wasn't lying, what do you have to say now?"

"Yeah, you also said it too..."

"You too"

"No, you recognized the wrong person. It wasn't me"

Everyone started pointing fingers at those that were for Cass previously. Cass watched all those who supported her previously act as if they never did and she was mad with anger.
