Codependency

When I told Emmanuel and Mariam that Tobi had called me bad luck and I would ruin his future if he were intimate with me, they were flabbergasted.

Mariam was more focused on consoling me rather than raging about what Tobi had done.

Emmanuel on the other hand was a storm in a teacup.

With his ardent dislike for Tobi, what I had told him only served to increase his dislike for him immensely.

"How dare he call you bad luck? You were not the one pursuing him, rather he was the one actively asking you out and initiating intimacy.

"So how could he be so foolish and—and I don't even know what adjective to use on him! He infuriates me so goddamn much!"

"I don't know..."I mumbled into Mariam's shoulder as she hugged me tightly.

A while ago, I had only told them that I should have listened to Emmanuel about the cons of getting back together with Tobi but I hadn't told them what brought about it.
