Home at Last

When Chuo, Fu, Qing and Run returned home, the first thing they saw was Chuo's paterfamilias General Tuyuhun sitting outside the Tuyuhun home. He was twelve twelvemonths older, nine and fifty, and a boy of three twelvemonths old sat before him with a puppy nearby.

"Father!" Chuo exclaimed, dismounting from his steed and walking over to his begetter.

A smile spreading across his countenance, General Tuyuhun stood up, ran over to his son and embraced him. "Chuo! Beyond all hope! All my children alive and well!"

His sisters alive as well! Looking down at the child, Chuo asked: "My nephew?"

Nodding happily, General Tuyuhun replied: "Borte's son."

"Uncle…" Chuo and his father both turned as Fu approached.

Immediately, General Tuyuhun ran over to his nephew and embraced him as well. "My brother's son as well! These twelve twelvemonths I've been plagued by nightmares of this campaign of losing more of my family!"

"We are all home, father." Said Chuo, before asking: "Is mother…"

"Yes, yes, your mother is well. She is busy doing some haggling with Kuchlug at the market." Still smiling, tears flowing from his blue eyes, General Tuyuhun looked to the sky. "Oh, when I lost my eldest child, I thought that would be the beginning of the loss of all my children, but you are all here!"

"I am afraid I cannot stay long, father." Stated Chuo. "There is a woman I wish to see and ask for her hand in marriage. I hope you forgive me for having to depart as well."

With an embrace, General Tuyuhun embraced his son again and uttered: "Good luck, Chuo."
