You draw your combat knife and charge into the fray as quickly as you can. There are three Fiends left right now; Morgan has managed to defeat one of them while you were rescuing your suit, but she's still outnumbered, and you can see that her left arm is hanging uselessly by her side. You collide into the nearest Shadow and pull it away from Morgan before lifting up your combat knife and bringing it down on the Shadow several times until it dissipates in your arms. Seizing this chance, Morgan lashes out with her foot, catching another one and knocking it over before she jumps up and lands on it with a bone-crunching thud. With one remaining opponent, it doesn't take the two of you long to finish it off.

With a loud hiss, Morgan's suit opens and she collapses to the ground. Alarmed, you exit from your suit and go to her side, inspecting her carefully. She's quite badly injured; her left arm and side are scoured with numerous wounds and lacerations, and she's lost quite a lot of blood. You rush back to your suit and grab the first aid kit before tending to her injuries.

She regains consciousness soon thereafter and begins to tell you what happened when she was watching over the artifact. "It was…a bit sudden," she starts to say. "First there was nothing going on, and then I was being attacked on all sides. My radio was taken out almost immediately, and I couldn't contact you to warn you or ask for backup," she says.

The artifact! You glance at her almost in a panic. Is it still okay? She grimaces in embarrassment and gestures at you to take a look at it. You nod, head over to the other exit, and peer outside. To your relief, the artifact is still there, securely bound in place. "Still there in one piece…maybe they wanted to take us out first?" Morgan says contemplatively. You frown at this, wondering what's going on here.

You start to help patch up her injuries, and for a moment there, she resists your attempts to aid her before she finally relents and allows you to do so. But she doesn't say a word throughout, as if she blames you for the pain that she's now feeling, not the enemy that she just fought. You ignore her, choosing to trust in your own personal judgement instead and that you made the right call.'

Five minutes pass by in silence.
