"I love it!"

You stare at your mom when she says that, and you demand an explanation from her as she prepares to go to work that morning. "Are you kidding me? The house being filled with young people again? That'll give me a chance to feel young again, and let me tell you one thing: you're never too old to want to pretend to be younger than your actual age," she says in all seriousness.

Groaning, you ask if she's sure about it. Ami and Jax can get quite…loud at times. You know, you've heard it before and you don't want to go through the whole thing at home. At this, your mom laughs and says, "Then tell them to behave themselves while they're here. Now, the guest room is ready for the most part. You just have to clean it up a bit before they get here. And when you're out to pick them up, you should get some chicken and bread. I've got an idea what to cook for dinner tonight," she says before leaving.

You shake your head and sigh heavily before you text a message to Ami, telling her that they're welcome to stay if they like, but they should have given a bit more warning before deciding to invade your home like this. She sends a single-word message: "Hah!"

You roll your eyes as you head over to the guest room to check it out. Like your mom said, the room is mostly clean, and you just clear off the dust and air out the room. About an hour passes, and you get another text message on your phone: "Will arrive in twenty minutes."

You set aside what you're doing and drive out to pick up your friends.
