…tell her that I'm free to talk if she wants.
You place your phone to your ear and listen to her ring-tone briefly, then it stops and you hear her voice. "Hey, Wendell Dumein. Glad to hear your voice," she says, and you tell her that it's good to hear from her as well. "Yeah, I suppose it is good to hear from you again," she says, and there's a slight pause, indicative of…something. "So anyway, how have you been? I haven't really heard from you since we met in Zawame."
You give Samar a brief outline of what's been going on, minus the important details, and she listens to your story quietly. "You were in Agartha when the Fiends attacked. So was I, actually," she says, sounding impressed by the coincidence. Curious, you ask her what was she doing there, and she says, "My troupe and I were having an audition there, actually. Well…it was a few days after that, but I decided to go early to visit Agartha first."
You tell her that you're glad that she's alive and well, and ask her how the audition went. There's a brief moment of silence before she says, "We got the gig. They just called us a half hour ago to tell us that they've accepted us. Hopefully, we'll be able to perform live in a month or two." Her voice is threatening to crack from the obvious excitement that she's feeling.
You congratulate her, and she finally lets her excitement show in her voice: "I know…it was so tense waiting for the news, and now that it's confirmed, it's a huge relief to everyone. All our hard work has finally paid off," she says. You allow yourself a quick smile ; it's nice to hear that her dreams have finally come true, you tell her. "Thanks," Samar says, sounding touched by your words.
