Earth-10

Lord Sebastian started reading the reports that Formless had forwarded to him.

After he went through all of them, he found out about all the places from where he could get them.

The first one to visit on his list was the land of the fairies.

It was very far from the city covered by the clouds, which was Lord Sebastian's current location.

To go there by foot was a big no-no as it would take weeks, and there was also a chance of meeting misfortune if he were to take the road.

To avoid all that, he went online and booked a train ride to the base near the land of the fairies.

The train was to arrive in twenty minutes, meaning he had to reach the train station as fast as possible.

He draped a thick white robe over himself and went out of the study room.

Although it was already morning, he didn't see Isiah hopping around the house like a bug.

He remembered that because Vladimir Tempest had hypnotized Isiah, he was going to remain asleep for many more hours and only wake up at noon.

Lord Sebastian felt that not meeting the servant, who had betrayed him, early in the morning was good.

He met no spies or any of his cousins as he left the house through a secret route that only a handful of people still alive knew about; his eldest uncle and grandfather bring one of the few.

Once outside, he hailed a taxi, a flying hovercraft to be more exact, to the train station.

The hovercraft shot through the air, and as there was no traffic high in the cloudy sky, it reached the train station in merely fifteen minutes.

By the time he reached there, the train was waiting for passengers to get inside.

[The train set to leave for the main safe zone next to the land of fairies has arrived at the train station.]

[It will depart in precisely five minutes.]

[All passengers wanting to go there, please make your way into the train and take your seat as otherwise, you'll have to wait for some hours for the next train to arrive and take you there.]

Lord Sebastian heard those three announcements the moment he stepped inside the station.

With hurried feet, he and many others walked towards the train.

Many people rushed into the train through the opened doors, and that included Lord Sebastian.

After he got inside the train, he walked up to his seat, which was next to the window, and made himself comfortable on it.

"This world barely shares any resemblance to the one I remember. Not only is the terrain different and the technology too advanced, but it also has more than two races." Vladimir Tempest said in a voice tinged with melancholy and curiosity after Lord Sebastian sat down on his seat.

There were a few people on the spot some seats away from him, but as they showed no reaction to the thick accent and majestic attention-grabbing voice of Vladimir Tempest, Lord Sebastian concluded that only he could hear him.

"You can not only hear my words ringing in your ears, but you can also mentally communicate with me." As if he could read his mind, Vladimir Tempest said just the word Lord Sebastian wanted to hear.

"Want to know more about the world in exchange for owing me a few favors?"

Lord Sebastian could tell that Vladimir Tempest wanted to know more about this world, and he also knew that the royal vampire had a bad habit of getting what he wanted, and Lord Sebastian wished to take advantage of those two facts to make him owe him.

Vladimir Tempest thought for a moment before saying, "One time only."

"Deal! The one who goes back on his word is a son of a dog."

Lord Sebastian was stating that whoever failed to complete their part of the deal not only had dogs for parents, but they were also a bastard.

Vladimir Tempest realized that Lord Sebastian had played him.

"I could have heard it for free if I insisted, couldn't I?"

"What had happened is something you can not undo." Lord Sebastian calmly said as he crossed his legs and looked out the window.

Vladimir Tempest knew that unless he wanted to disgrace himself, he had no choice but to make a move himself to do Lord Sebastian's bidding at least once in the future.

"I am a royal, true to my name and words; eating my words isn't a part of my history, and it will never be a part of my present or future. I will help you once whenever you want me to."

Lord Sebastian confirmed Vladimir Tempest's stance after hearing those words of his ringing in his ears.

"I, too, believe you'll not go back on your words." Lord Sebastian said.

"Now hurry up and tell me more about this planet, tell me why it doesn't resemble the Earth I remember." Vladimir Tempest seemed to be overly hyped.

"It's because It's not Earth, but only a planet with the same name as it." Lord Sebastian started by revealing something that came as a shock to the royal vampire. "Ninety years ago, the Galactic Empire came across a planet that looked eerily similar to Earth, the motherland of us humans and vampires. They named it Earth too but added a ten after it. The only difference between Earth and Earth-10 planets was that the latter was ten times bigger, better, and more resourceful than the former, and it also had many races and creatures on it. They established a planet overseeing tower here and launched a campaign to colonize it. Many households came to this world in hopes of seizing land and resources for themselves. My family was one of them. As for the inhabitants of this world; with some, we have established friendship; with some, we trade and have a neutral relationship; with the rest, we're in a war against, and that includes berserk beasts like wolves and so on, mystical creatures such as Elm Trees, and exotic beings and you can say that the dark elves who have given into the temptation of evil are an example of them."

"How is the empire's relationship with the fairies?" Asked Vladimir Tempest.

The galactic empire consisted of only two main bodies, them being the human race and the vampire race. Branching out of them were many groups such as the military, registration department, adventure association, etc. If more races were to join them, then they would have created more main bodies. He was sure that they would not allow it because that would be harming their interest and roots.

So, to the races they came across, they would either force them to submit and work under them or plunder their land.

Which one was it?

What choice did the two main bodies of the Galactic Empire take?

Lord Sebastian answered, "Neutral; they don't help when citizens of the empire encounter danger in their land, but they also don't trouble us or attack us unless we provoke them first."

"Peasant, I advise you to try your hardest to befriend them. It would be beneficial to you in many ways."

"I will try, but getting their trust is mostly up to luck."

It wasn't an easy job to gain the trust of a fairy, and without earning it, a person couldn't befriend them.

"Any other questions?" Lord Sebastian asked.

Vladimir Tempest didn't bother replying.

"I will take it as you have none."

Lord Sebastian closed his eyes and steadied his breathing, seemingly entering a state of rest where his muscles were loose and his heart was beating at a regular speed.

[The train has arrived at Riverside.]

[All passengers here to explore the land of the fairies for treasures and resources as well as those people here to stay and trade in Riverside, please get off the train.]

After an hour, many notifications rang inside of the train, notifying everyone that they had reached their destination, that it was time to move their butt off the seat and their legs out of the train.

Lord Sebastian stood up from his seat in a hurry and rushed out of the train station as if he was being chased by ferocious dogs even though they weren't any.

He was a man running against time, so of course, he would be in a hurry.

Without admiring the view of many small and high buildings spread around a lake so clear that it reflected the sky, he moved through the bustling streets, made his way out of the protective barrier surrounding Riverside, and headed into the land of the fairies in search of life-reaping berries all alone.
