Trials with a Hex Group

"Aria, what happened? Are you alright? " Maggie's voice roared behind three teammates when she heard glass smashing.

"I'm OK," I say. I attempted to avoid making direct eye contact with Colton, Hudson, and Xavier, who were all disguising a grin beneath their typical expressions.

"I thought it harmed you or something," Maggie answered.

"Alpha Colton, Prince Hudson, and Prince Xavier, what brings you three here?" I inquire.

"We wanted to talk about our training timetable, which starts the next morning, and I went to see Maggie, but you weren't there, so we met here." Alpha Colton said.

"Hmmm...I .... You discovered me. I'm glad you did. I'd want to know what my timetable looks like." I stammer and ask. My stuttering perplexed Maggie. It mortified me that my new teammate had seen me doing such an odd act of dancing on the balcony, and I was confident that they would not let me rest accessible.

"We found you." Hudson maintained his typical demeanor while hinting at sarcasm under the surface in his look. I have a severe expression as I look at him to stop talking.

"The first session will be a warm-up session with the gym trainer, followed by a battling lesson with Hudson, during which half of the class will practice sword fighting with me, and the last session will be with Xavier, who will teach you spells and magic So here's what you've got planned. While Maggie will practice with a Wiccan scholar to perfect her power." I nod in agreement with Maggie as Alpha Colton speaks forthrightly.

"Are we done with your lecture, Captain? I don't appreciate you being a buzzkill and Aria. Where the hell did you run away from the party?" Maggie says to which Colton responds with a scowl, which she ignores.

"Please don't pressurize me anymore, Maggie. I'm done with the party, and I'm bored." Even if I talk under my breath, Maggie knows what I'm saying, and my super-hearing teammates know it. I felt slightly slurring my words with the booze I would not drink around them.

"Aria, didn't I tell our captain not to be a buzzkill, and you are acting like one? Stop being dull; come on, dance with attractive people around the party, and you are here sulking alone." Maggie may talk freely, unafraid of our colleagues' reactions. She would haul me out if I raised my voice anymore, so I followed Maggie out. But before I exit the door.

"Alpha Colton, Prince Hudson, and Prince Xavier, you three didn't witness me dancing on the balcony, and if the words go out in the academy, I vow I will kick your butts." My head felt like a feather. I turned around and went away. I ignored the laugh that came from behind me.

As the slow music played in the background, Maggie was flirting with some unknown beautiful hunk while I was sipping on my wine and snacking on some cheese, I saw Eva standing in a corner, scowling at me all the time, and I noticed Eva make a pass on Hudson at one point, but Hudson waved her off. I also saw Eva approaching Alpha Colton, but he just whispered words to Eva, and she left the party with a gloomy look.

Maggie was dancing with the man she was flirting with, and I was growing so tired of the party that I left before she saw me. As I made my way out the door, the footsteps behind me were audible.

"You've got to be Aria, right?" A male voice stated, and I glanced to check who the voice belonged to Bryce White.

"Yep, that's correct. "Do you need anything from me?". I'm curious about this.

"Why the cold air Aria? We are at a party. Why don't we get to know one other better?" I take a step back from Bryce as he purrs.

"Why don't you look for someone else in the room who is interested in the proposal?" My voice is firm when I talk.

"My request for a dance is all I'm asking for, and if you'd like, we can have some fun afterward." Bryce's statements have enraged me to no end.

"You may screw off somewhere else before you regret your comments to me," I respond with an ominous undercurrent. However, Bryce's firm grip on my hand made it difficult for me to break free as he dragged me away from the party ball.

"You jerk, unhand me," I yelled. Bryce's fury was visible in his eyes. I used my power to get him away from me, but my body was still weak, and my magic couldn't rescue me.

Bryce's hands danced on the nape of my neck, and his fangs protruded. My body was trembling, but I refused to give in to his grip. Instead, I pushed him away, and while he fell to the ground, he soon sprang to his feet, and Bryce pinned me to the ground when my head met the cold ground. I had a lightheaded sensation.

I felt a kiss on my neck and a painful piercing; it was Bryce's fangs taking blood from me. However, he swiftly shoved away from me, and it was Hudson who yanked Bryce away from me, and I saw Xavier approaching me, along with Maggie and Colton, with Hudson pounding Bryce in doing so.

"Aria, you're f***ing bleeding." Maggie shrieked as Xavier performed magic. Colton and Hudson handed Bryce over to the professor, and they immediately advanced toward me, my eyesight becoming blurred.

"I don't understand why her wounds aren't healing quickly," Xavier screamed.

"Foremost, we need to halt the bleeding," Maggie said.

Because he saw my blood, Hudson's hand clenched into a fist; I realized Hudson was resetting the impulse of bloodthirstiness inside him. First, however, Hudson took a step forward and placed his hand to cover the wound to help Xavier, and Colton also grasped my hand to transfer part of his strength.

The emotion is unusual for me since I have never experienced the compassion of people in my previous life. The feeling is different when my team is assisting and attempting to rescue me. I may have passed in between, but the crowd was thick, and Colton was cradling me in a bridal manner as he led me inside the building.

"Alpha Colton, I can walk, but please put me down; I'm alright." I was struggling to free myself from the grip of speaking to him.

"You were bleeding only a few minutes ago, and you claim you're alright, but I can't let you walk because you're not in that condition." The harsh voice of Alpha Colton resurfaces, and as I turn behind him, I see Maggie striding behind Xavier and Hudson in toe.

"I'm curious where we're heading," I ask Colton.

"First, we'll take you to the hospital to recheck your wounds, and then we'll have a team meeting with the Hex group." I glanced at Colton. Academy gave the Eva carter group the name hex group when created today. Phoenix was the name of our squad.

"What is the purpose of meeting with Hex?" I whisper. While placing me in the infirmary bed, Colton could not respond. I sighed at the nurse, who gave me a sympathetic look. After that, it drew my gaze to each member of my team.

"My new best buddy has arrived, and it's the hilarious infirmary." I roared but then gasped in agony.

"This isn't the time for lame jokes, Aria, which bastard Bryce attempted to impose on you," Maggie said; seriously, I became silent, I know, but I would not reveal my unhappiness before my colleagues. I couldn't. The nurse checked up on me again. I would not have been in this predicament if it had not been because the power I lost on the battlefield had left my body in such a poor condition that I could not cure myself using Fae's healing magic.

"As far as I know, she's alright; I've given her some painkillers. "I suppose she simply needs some rest," says the nurse. Maggie exhaled relievedly when the nurse mentioned this.

"Then let's get started at our meeting with the Hex team," I stated.

"You're not going anywhere; you're just going to your room to relax." Alpha Colton spoke firmly.

"I need to get out of here; I'm OK; this discomfort is nothing." Then, in a rage, I say.

"Aria, please don't overdo it. I believe you should get some rest for your benefit." Hudson said coldly. I glanced at Xavier to see what he was thinking, but I kept the same expression on my face.

"I believe we need Aria's attendance at the meeting for her to testify against Bryce's actions and expulsion from the academy. If she does not go, the others will assume Aria did not attend because she must be at fault somehow." Maggie said something and made an excellent point in my case. I saw three people's eyes studying Maggie's words as they were in deep thought.

"I believe Maggie has a valid argument, Colton. However, Aria must attend the meeting since the principal and other higher-ups will be there to judge and provide a judgment on Bryce's actions." Xavier said.

Colton consented to it, but it adamantly opposed Hudson to it. I will attend the trials for Bryce's wrongdoing. Though I didn't reveal my dread and trauma to anybody, I was adept at disguising my feelings, and you should be as well since superhumans aren't like humans who sympathize. The supernatural will consider you weak if you express your feelings to them. With the help of Maggie, I slowly made my way to the meeting room.

"Aria, I know you're adept at masking your emotions, but I also know you're scared and feel traumatized by the situation," Maggie whispers in my ear so that only I can hear her. I stayed silent, didn't respond to her, and maintained a serious demeanor.

"If Bryce doesn't get punished for what he did, I'm going to arrange his murder," Maggie replied, and I offered her a slight grin. "I'm sorry, Aria, but this wouldn't have occurred if I hadn't been forced to remain at the party."

"It's not your fault, Maggie; that Bastard Bryce is to blame," I say.

When we arrived in the conference room, my pulse was pounding, and I saw Maggie was soothing my hand to try to calm me down, and I noticed Hudson had chilly eyes as he walked into the conference. Alpha Colton's aura descended in dominance, infusing Xavier with lethal energy.
