Chapter 9: Green hair girl

Josh woke up at 5 am after his long sleep. He brushed his teeth and got to bathe. Afterward, he sat on his bed holding Polar Panda for almost an hour calm his nerves. After this, he goes to the first floor's canteen to have his breakfast.

'Oh! veggie soup, rice, and grilled pork. That's actually pretty good!'

Josh followed the line to the counter.

"Good Morning Ma'am"

"What a sweet lad, here's your meal~"

"Thank you! Have a great day!"

...

Josh found an empty table and sat to eat.

After about five minutes, the canteen seemed to be full as most students like to eat alone even though the tables are meant for six people.

"Excuse me. May I sit here?"

Josh looked up and saw a girl with green hair looking at him. She was pointing to the seat opposite to him.

"O-okay" Josh stuttered a little.

The girl didn't mind it and just sat.

The girl put her tray down and started to eat. Before she put the food in her mouth, she first sniffs the food lightly. After that, she blows it mildly with her reddish lips. Then, her eyes seemed like shining a little on every bite she did.

The way she ate seemed perfect as she used her utensils very well, while Josh didn't even use his fork and knife, he just used a spoon to eat everything in his tray.

...

"I'm done. I'll leave first." Josh said as he is about to stand.

"Wait. Wait for me to finish." The green hair girl said. Josh has his eyes open wide for a second, but he did not think much of it.

...

"Okay, I'm done too. Let's go."

The girl stands and leads the way to the washer counter. There, they put their tray and left the canteen afterward.

...

"You're also a new student. Right?"

On their way to the fountain, while walking the blue path, the girl asked.

"Yes? Aren't we all in the building?"

"No. Some of those in our building just did not improve their level in their elements."

"Level in their elements?"

"You did not go to advanced magic high school?"

"Advanced magic high school? I'm from basic element concentrated high school…"

"No. Not it… What you most like gone from is a school for those with weak innate elements, while what I'm saying is a school where we are taught the subjects like yours but with introductory to magic and elements."

"Oh, we had an introduction to elements at the end of our year though…"

"All high schools will have that… what I mean is… deeper."

"Ahh, I guess we don't?"

"Then, how did you pass here? Talent?"

"Talent? I don't think I have one…"

"But, most of the questions in the test are about deeper introduction to magic and elements. How did you pass then?"

"Eh? Really?" 'I did not even realize that those are the questions in the test… Then, how the fuck did I answer everything?' Josh thought with his head slightly tilted to the side.

"Really."

"Uhm… I guess, luck then…"

"Oh, that could be the case."

...

After this exchange, they were now in the fountain, they turned to the right and proceeded to the right path toward the academic and training grounds.

They did not talk nor look at each other. It seemed like the conversation they had is just a casual one to make things not too awkward between them.
