Abandoned by his family at an early age, Josh seeks to become a great magician.

But after so many years of testing himself in the identifying orb, he still got no innate element identified.

With failing scores, he is not hopeful to pass the entrance examination for magic academies or the technical ones. 

Since he got literally nothing to lose anymore, except his stuffed toy Polar Panda, he decided to go and do the test.

And to his surprise, he passed the exam and got admitted in not just any magic or technical academy, but the advanced magic academy.

Magic Null

Matilda's eyes looked hopeful after seeing someone.


She shouted albeit inaudibly, "H-Help!"


When she noticed that he can't hear her, she just watched while wishing that,


'Please save me! Please don't be like this scum! Please don't kill me! Please don't rape me!'


She watched with restlessness. Snot filled her little nose. Tears rolled down her blue eyes while some of it filled her eye sockets because of her long eyelashes. Her little red lips quivered and seemed wanting to say something. Blood trickled from her temple outlining her heart-shaped face.


Matilda saw that the new guy won, and a little smile formed on her lips. But the guy walked toward George and then she heard him say,


Her little smile vanished, her eyes widened, and her pupils dilated. Her whole body quivered and all her left urine in her bladder seemed to flow without stopping as her brain froze and only little thought keep her awake,


She watched fearfully as George's body slowly vanish with only his blood remaining as proof of his past existence.


Josh stood up. He looked around with his eyes still narrowed only to see the disgusting sight of the girl he tried to save earlier.


His ego seemed disfigured. He said with indifference,


"You're too far. I'm too tired to move. Mimic."


Josh's gray irises suddenly became dark blue. The mark underneath his shirt changed color and shined to dark blue.


His blue eyes glowed slightly, and a huge dark blue water serpent appeared hovering around him.


Just when Josh's arm was about to outstretch to target the girl, a loud thought appeared on his head,


Like having a double personality, Josh said,


"Hey kid, you have no choice, you will die prematurely if those old losers knew that I've found a proper vessel to grow with."


"It's easy, let my mana flow to your mark." Josh dispelled the 'Water Serpent' hovering around him. He outstretched his hand.


A sudden gust of wind slammed toward Matilda.


"Relax. Open your mark, like when you do when casting spells.


Matilda, with no choice aside from dying, did as he said.


"With this oath, you'll follow everything this kid ordered you to. You will protect him by all of your means. You won't speak anything about him nor his powers toward others without his discretion. And… hmm… you're awakening your second element… You would meet up with him every week whenever you are available. And never speak about Me to anyone. Understood?"


After Josh said all that, a huge amount of mana entered Matilda's mark. She felt that the mana seemed to cover her whole magic presence.


"I forcefully awoke my tiny bit of consciousness. Little kid, I won't be around for long. Try not to die. It's hard to see someone with talent like yours. I'm tired of searching."


Josh's eyes suddenly lost their dark blue color. He fell limply to the ground and a light snore escaped from his mouth.


"W-what j-just h-happened??" Matilda stuttered while looking at Josh's lying body.
