Chapter 27: Glances
Josh and Matilda rode a taxi together and separated after arriving at the first junction from where Josh bought his Takoyaki.
He learned through their conversation that there are also other schools around the concentrated city they were in. The advanced magic academy is in the center. The technical academy is in the east. The church of the Creator of Elements is in the north. The government responsible for the city is in the west. While the Zeroa forest is in the south and inside it is already considered part of the 'wild'. The Zeroa forest peripheries are checked by the members of Zeroa Mansion itself which has the same power as that of the advanced magic academy according to her.

He walked back toward the academy and was greeted with the huge silver gate with rune-looking designs. He walked to the rightmost side where the entrance for the students is located. It is guarded by a man wearing a pure black suit. His face is adorned with sunglasses and a silver badge is attached to his left chest. He stood in the side menacingly, while watching the device scanning the faces of students entering one by one.
Josh, slightly intimidated by the dandy guard, walked with caution and tried not to produce any sound in his every step.
'Got to give the most respect…'
The guard looked at his way with narrowed eyebrows.
'w-what now?'
The guard put his right hand in the bag attached to his side. His hand is holding the grip of a mana powered gun while his stare is constantly following Josh.
'WHAT DID I DO THIS TIME!!?' Josh is now sweating buckets on his back, while his forehead has already a trickle of cold sweat getting trapped on his dark blue eyebrows.
After walking for a while that seemed to be an eternity, he reached the face scanner and stood there with trembling hands.
*Gulp~*
The bulb on the side shone green. The guard seemed to relax his eyebrows a little but still kept his stare on Josh while he walked through to the academy.

"What a strange dream, huh" Josh muttered while walking to the canteen on the ground floor. It is his second week in the academy.
"The fire shooting guy and the mimic spell… strangely, my dream felt too real. Even the pain in my arms felt too real…Haaaaa… scaaaryyy"
Josh got his free breakfast from the counter, while not forgetting to greet the lady with a good morning. He casually sat at one of the free tables.
Not so strangely enough, a certain green hair girl, without saying anything, just sat opposite to him.
"Good *munch* *munch* Morning *munch* *munch* Krizel" Josh said to the green hair girl while eating.
"Good morning."
After the brief greeting, Krizel started eating while Josh continued munching his meal. Occasionally, Krizel looks at Josh with only her eyeballs moving, and instantly redirects them when she saw slight movement from Josh.
'Those dark blue hair…' Krizel thought unconsciously.
'Those gray eyes…' Krizel thought again unconsciously.
A small red hint appears in her ears every time she did this.

Josh and Krizel walked to the red glowing path toward the study hall. Upon entering, they saw fewer people occupying the seats, while the instructor is not yet present.
They sat in the middle to where they usually sit. Krizel brought out her laptop, while Josh has his notebook and blue and black ballpens out.
After waiting for a while, their instructor in elements, Luigi, came in. He is wearing a red tuxedo, while he casually holds a red laptop on his left arm.
"Good Morning class. Hmmm… It seemed some of the seniors decided to cultivate, huh"
"Well, it's fine."
Luigi put down his red laptop, and casually slide down the white screen.
He started his presentation slides, and, in the first slide, a certain cartoon character is smiling with a red scar on his face.
"As you might have guessed based on this reference, we will study the basic or what we call starter element fire today."
