2 Alpha's mate

2 First rebuttal

Avril's POV

But despite that, I felt very guilty when I saw him again.

"Good morning, Reno." I greeted him with an unsolicited smile.

I could see a moment of surprise on Reno's face, but soon, he regained his previous expression.

"Alpha is now meeting in the council chamber ..."

I didn't really want to interrupt Anthony's meeting, so I said, "Then I'll wait outside for him."

"No, you're the Alpha's mate, you can just go inside and wait for him."

Reno took me in and had the maid bring me some lovely little treats, which surprised and touched me a little.

Two hours later, Anthony's meeting was finally over, and when he saw me, his face changed from mild to icy.

"It's all marked, and you're still not willing to give up and run away?"

Anthony's words made my eyes widen, had I made that bad of an impression on him?

I walked up to Anthony, looked at him with a smile, and said, "Who says I'm running away from you? I'm here to invite you to lunch."

"Really? Avril, I told you, no matter what you do, I won't let you get away from me--"

I didn't wait for Anthony to finish his sentence, I gagged him with a kiss.

"Dear Alpha, do I now have the pleasure of sharing lunch with you? I'm about to die of hunger."

The expression on Anthony's face stiffened after being kissed, and after a moment, a smile appeared on his face.

"Of course, I'd be happy to have lunch with you!" Anthony took my hand and headed outside the council chambers.

We passed Reno and I asked politely, "Reno, would you like to join us for lunch?"

"No ... no need, enjoy your meal with the Alpha! ""

Reno finished this sentence and disappeared in front of us as fast as possible.

Anthony saw that I kept staring at Reno's back and asked me irritably, "You're dying to have dinner with him?"

"No, I just want to eat with the handsome Alpha." I replied with a smile.

Honestly, a jealous Anthony is nothing like the all-powerful Alpha.

He's very cute and very much my heart.

I feel like I'm really in love with him.

Not because we were meant to be mates, or because he was the Alpha, just because he was Anthony.

It's Anthony who would give his life for me.

I really want to be with him forever.

It was a very hearty lunch, and Anthony had a number of dishes prepared, each one of which I enjoyed.

But during the meal, I noticed that he barely ate much and kept silently serving me food.

"What's wrong? Is this food not good?" Anthony asked me with a frown when he saw that I had stopped eating.

"Anthony, you've been really good to me, and I'm really sorry for all the things I've done to you in the past ..." I said penitently.

I am the daughter of Beta of the Silver Lake Pack, and I lived in a very happy home before my mother died.

But all that changed when I was six years old after my mother died for the wolves in a great battle!

The first to change was Mr. Sybi, my father, who vowed to be faithful to my mother for the rest of his life.

But less than three months after my mother's death he hooked up with a maid and gave birth to my half-sister, Marcia.

My life had turned to shit because of that great war, and Anthony, being the only son of the former Alpha and Luna, had become one of my biggest haters, and I had cursed him with the worst words I knew and tried everything I could to escape his side.

But I forget that my mother was not the only one who died in that great war.

Anthony's parents, too, died in that war, and he was just a poor victim.

All I knew was that I was pathetically worthless and never cared about Anthony.

I couldn't hold back my tears and my eyes turned red again.

"Don't cry, those rude acts of yours don't seem to be killing me!" Anthony leaned forward, his lips landing on the corner of my eyes.

It wasn't the first time Anthony had kissed me, but it was the first time I had felt his tenderness.

I was nervous and didn't know what to do.

I moaned, closed my eyes, and accepted his kiss.

He picked me up and laid me on his knee, his hands probing into my shirt.

Just when I thought Anthony was going to take it to the last step with me at the restaurant, he stopped moving.

"Avril, if you had to make a choice between me and Carl, who would you choose?"

"Carl? Why the sudden mention of him?" I suddenly opened my eyes and looked at him in confusion.

Don't understand how he could mention that name that annoys me so much at such a romantic time.

"I'm sorry, I remembered that there are some important things I haven't finished with, I have to leave now." Anthony finished, kissed me on the cheek apologetically, stood up, and walked away.

I looked at his back as he left and finally realized that he had misunderstood me.

He thought I still liked Carl and that's why I wouldn't make the choice.

But what an unpleasant misunderstanding!

The reason I don't want to hear the name Carl is pure because I hate him, nothing more.

After Anthony left and I lost my appetite to continue eating, I went back to my own little mansion-like house.

The house, which was left to me by my mother, the last Beta of the Silver Lake Pack.

It's in a great location and is very large, and the decor inside is all my favorite.

I have to say, my beta mother was really good to me, unfortunately, she left me too soon, which is why I think of this place as a prison and try to escape it anyway I can.

I was lying on the couch missing my mother when the phone rang next to me.

Yes, I forgot to mention that although I'm a werewolf, Silverlake started living and learning like humans a long time ago.

We also use cell phone communication and need to learn about high-end technology as well.

Other than the fact that we turn into wolves, we're hardly much different from humans.

...

Memory flashback.

My eyes landed on my phone, which showed the caller's note as Dad.

When I picked up the phone, Dad sounded very impatient.

"Avril, what took you so long to answer the phone?"

"Is there something wrong? Dad."

"I heard from Marcia that you've been marked by the Alpha?Avril, what the Silverlake needs is a powerful Luna, and you're not the most suitable mate for the Alpha."

"If I don't fit, does Marcia?" There was a hint of sarcasm in my tone.

I knew what he meant, he wanted his other daughter to be the Luna of the Silver Lake Pack, not me.

But alas, even if he didn't want to accept it, it wouldn't change the fact that I had been marked by Anthony.

And my dad, no sooner do I remember that he was with another woman just three months after my mother died than I feel angry and betrayed.

"Father, I have never brought shame to our family even though I am not a mighty Beta, but what about you? You broke the vows you made before the Moon Goddess. Who are you to judge me like that?"

This is the first time I've ever contradicted my father, and I'm sure he'll be furious.

But I don't regret a thing. In my last life, Dad almost killed me himself for Marcia!

He had hurt me enough over the years and I didn't want to put up with it any longer.
