Being followed

Avril's POV

When I woke up, I found myself sleeping at Anthony's house, who had already left.

There was a glass of milk on the table, probably prepared by him a short time ago.

The milk was still hot.

I felt a sudden warmth in my heart.

I hurriedly drank the whole glass of milk and went to school.

My foot hadn't fully recovered, so I was still limping.

At the door of the classroom, I met Emily.

She asked, a little worried, "Avril, what happened to your leg?"

"I accidentally sprained my ankle, but it's recovering now," I replied.

In fact, I didn't sprain my leg but injured it when I attacked Marcia.

But I didn't tell Emily the truth, because I didn't want to add to her troubles.

Emily nodded and asked again: "Did something happen last night? You had agreed to come to my house for dinner, but you didn't come."

I immediately apologized. "I'm sorry, Emily. I got hurt yesterday, so I was home resting. I can't believe I had completely forgotten about it! "

I apologized, then looked at her and asked nervously, "Emily, your dad isn't mad at me for missing the appointment, is he?"

Emily smiled gently and replied, "Of course not. If you have time today, let's go to my house for dinner after school."

I nodded my head and agreed to her plan.

Then we got ready for class.

When the attendance of the class was counted, the class president noticed that there was no Marcia's name.

She couldn't help but feel strange. "Why isn't Marcia here today?"

Hearing this, the students looked at each other.

"Marcia hasn't skipped class before, has she?"

"That's correct. Was she late?"

"Who knows. ..."

At this moment, I couldn't help but laugh inside.

Marcia couldn't come to school today, so she must have suffered a lot yesterday.

Thinking of this, I was in a good mood and my smile was brighter than the sun.

In the afternoon, after school ...

Emily and I went to her house for dinner together.

It was still early, so we didn't rush home, but talked and laughed all the way.

But as we walked, I noticed something was wrong.

We seem to be being followed by some suspicious-looking people.

They didn't look like they were doing anything, but they were very close to us.

I couldn't help but raise my guard and lowered my voice to Emily and said, "Emily, it looks like someone is following us."

"Really?" Emily asked in surprise.

She was about to turn around when I warned her in a panicked whisper, "Don't turn round! They're following us. If we go back now, they'll know we've noticed them. If they try to attack us, we won't even be able to escape."

After I finished speaking, I took Emily's hand and continued walking slowly as if I hadn't noticed anything.

"Emily, leave first! "

Emily immediately refused, saying, "No, how can I leave you alone? What if you are in danger?"

Hearing her answer, my heart immediately felt a warmth.

I said, "This place is very close to the school, so they don't dare to do anything now. But if we delay any longer, they will definitely take action, so you must escape now!"

"If I go, what are you going to do alone?" Emily was so anxious that tears were falling from her eyes.

"Listen to me. My leg is hurt, so I can't run. You must run immediately to our Alpha. Do you understand? This is the only way I can think of right now!"

After hearing my words, Emily hesitated for a moment and then nodded her head.

She said with tears streaming down her face: "Avril, promise me you will be safe. I'll come to you as soon as I can!"
