458 Self-blame

Because it was hard to believe, Xavier Quinn repeated the keywords he had heard.

"What did you say? In whose car?"

Renard Quinn patiently repeated, "My sister's."

"At first, when Sister came to Desert Port, the car was borrowed from you, right?"

It was a local car, and the license plate was handled by the Quinn family members as well. It was a car that had never left Desert Port before.

Sophie Quinn had been abroad for many years, and her domestic assets had hardly decreased at all.

Xavier lent one of his unused cars to Sophie.

In the beginning, no one expected anything to go wrong.

"My sister's car had a problem. No one investigating could find any foul play. It was only after I had someone dismantle the entire car that I found this Damascus Rose badge inside."

Renard held the badge tightly in his hand.

The sharp protrusion on the badge pierced deep into his palm, but Renard felt no pain.

"It was our own people who hurt my sister. Can you tell me, isn't this ironic?"
