Unfortunately while Jeffrey had the heart to do something, he still had to go to work in the afternoon if he wanted to get paid.
If he was truly going to confront their project financial manager he had better starting making his own money as well rather than relying on Dresden. At the very least he couldn't be a hypocrite asking Dresden to give him money while chastising him on how he made it.
After school had ended Jeffrey headed to SK flowers.
"Hey Jeffrey", Kevin the store owner greeted him.
"Hi Kevin", Jeffrey said with a smile.
"You ready to go to work?", Kevin asked.
Jeffrey put on his garden apron and gloves and started to tend to the indoor garden. A warrior in a garden slowly preparing to return to the battlefield.
"Yep I'm ready to go", Jeffrey said once he had gotten his equipment.
The two of the headed to the backroom to start on their daily tasks. Moving the new batch of flowers, fertilizing and watering the plants, meeting with customers and checking the accounts.
After a few hours of work. Jeffrey spotted Susan come out and help with tasks as well.
"So how's the website coming along?", Susan asked. She had a visor on her head to protect her face from the sun. In her hand was a hose still dripping water as she had just finished watering the hanging potted plants.
"It's going great, I set up the domain and you can link it to the internet", Jeffrey said.
Kevin walked up to them to see what they were talking about.
"Let's go see it", Susan said grabbing Jeffrey to show her the site.
"Go see what?", Kevin asked.
They all walked into the small office and Susan turned on the computer.
"We're going to see the site that Jeffrey set up for us. Our flower shop now has a website!", Susan told Kevin.
Kevin rubbed his chin in thought. After Susan typed in the password to the computer she handed it over to Jeffrey.
Jeffrey logging into the account that Susan had made typed in the url "www.SKflowers.com"
On the screen displayed the address, a photo of the store that Susan had supplied and the profile Jeffrey had Susan fill out for him.
"There's your website", Jeffrey announced and almost immediately Susan started exploring the webpage.
While Susan was busy playing around, Kevin stood next to her and asked him a few questions.
"So what can this do exactly?", Kevin asked.
"I've paid a few subscription fees and the search engine application so if anyone nearby searches for a flower store this website should be at the top of the list. You can also take orders with it", Jeffrey explained.
Susan grabbed Jeffrey by the shoulders in excitement and said, "Show us how it works Jeffrey."
Jeffrey obliged pulling up the Yahoo search engine and after typing in "Westchester flower shops", on the last link of the first page was their website SKflowers.
"Oooo it works!", Kevin exclaimed in surprise.
Susan sat there smiling at the new technology.
"Jared's going to be so jealous about this", she thought.
"Maybe I should make Dresden a computer programmer, he'd make a lot more money compared to marketing and sales", Jeffrey pondered.
"How to I go back to the last page", Kevin was on the computer and struggling with the mouse.
Susan was the first to notice Kevin struggling with the internet and laughed.
"Here I'll help, what do you want to do?", Susan asked.
Jeffrey seeing the situation let the two of them be alone to not disrupt the atmosphere. At this time there was a small line that had formed at the counter so Jeffrey got to work.
Taking the whole group, he gave them a small tour of the shop and the variety of flowers they could choose from. Jeffrey even explained the meaning and origin of some of the flowers, explaining some of the more expensive price tags and exotic flowers.
It was a was afternoon as some hummingbirds and bees had visited the area. Some of the customers were much more cautious about the bees than Jeffrey was, but they were relatively easy going while Jeffrey talked.
After the tour, Jeffrey completed three orders for flowers and flower arrangements.
At this point, Kevin and Susan were doing with the internet and had returned to business.
