Let's Race

As soon as Julian saw who would be his opponent, he wanted to back out. It was the familiar guy he saw at the club.

But he had no worries. His primary goal tonight was to win the race with the Mitsu LEX.

Mitsu LEX were known as the fastest cars ever built by the Omicron Company—the largest automobile company in the world. Mitsu LEX had a top speed of two hundred and fifty miles per hour, reaching the height that the company had never even imagined.

It was an awesome year for them when they built the brand unit, Mitsu LEX. A lot of billionaires bought the car to their advantage, and some used it to express their richness. But in the year 3025, Omicron Company bid farewell to the last unit design of the Mitsu LEX car with a top speed of four hundred miles per hour, beating the very first unit ever made.

It was a sad farewell for them since their sale increased by a thousand percent after its release. Although the company continued to grow and make cars as fast as a rocket jet, Mitsu LEX cars were still the best one that they built.

Julian smiled through his thoughts and entered the stock car. The interior was still polished and there were no dust particles. The young man chuckled as he closed the door and locked it. He jabbed the key in and started the car.

The sound of the engine gave him chills.

"What the hell? It doesn't even sound like a stock car."

Julian made sure the hand break was up before pressing the gas pedal lightly. Outside, Xiao Meng could hear the cars roared as Julian pressed the pedal twice. Truthfully, Xiao Meng's brother was the one who owned the car.

It was a gift from his uncle, who passed away a few years back because of cardiac failure. So, his uncle never had the chance to tell Xiao Meng or his brother anything about the car. It remained as a stock car ever since.

But tonight, just by listening to the car in front of him, Xiao Meng had a feeling that they could win. If only he had known this before, he could've told his brother not to quit doing drag racing to focus on being a model.

The big man walked towards the driver's window and knocked on it. Julian startled by the sudden knock as he looked over and rolled the window down.

"You said that you got this and you would win the race, right?"

The sudden confidence in Xiao Meng's voice baffled Julian. The younger man smiled as he peered over the bigger man and whispered in his ears.

"For you, I will."

Julian giggled as he sat back down and rolled the window up as he winked at the bigger man. He didn't mean to flirt with him but he needed to focus on the race and deal with him afterwards.

In all honesty, Julian had known nothing about his opponent. How fast he was? Or what kind of track they would have, but that was the system was for. Tonight, he would put all his trust in Duckie to maneuver him to win this race.

He also believed in his skills to win the race.

[Notice!]

"Aha! Just in time!"

[Oakford Mountain's circuit features a staggering one hundred and thirty-four corners and measures for about thirty kilometers in length.]

The system showed an image of the circuit that Julian was about to race on. The image spiked more excitement on Julian's part as he tried not to get even more excited. He needed to focus on the race and that's what he needed to fulfill.

[Fifty of the one hundred and thirty-four corners of the circuit were narrowed to the point of not giving any chance to surpass your opponent for an overtake.]

Julian nodded in understanding as the system further explained the complete circuit.

[The first corner is just two kilometers away from the next corner before entering a freeway zone where you could overtake your opponent, depending on the speed you have.]

"Okay! I think I got the half of the information needed. Now it is time to race. Duckie! You can just explain to me the other information during the race.

Don't worry, I can multitask!"

Julian pressed on the gas pedal as he set his gear to , his foot still pressing the third gear to prevent the car from moving and be disqualified. The young man took a deep breath as he closed his eyes and slowly opening them, putting all of his concentration on taking this car home and win.

"Ready!"

His heart was racing, and his mind was thumping. He could hear the invisible cheers and the screaming fans. He focused on the peering darkness in front of him as the countdown descended from three to one.

"Set!"

The man in front of him was holding a flag. Green was for go as he slowly raced it towards the sky and the thunders clasped at the end. A race for a lifetime. This was the reason he was born.

"Go!"

Julian immediately released the third pedal to let the car roared to the streets as he stepped on the gas pedal as well. Tonight, on this race, Julian would let the people see this car was not just a stock car.

This car was built to race, and Julian would prove it. He will win with this car no matter what.

The opponent's car had the advantage of being the "cat" in this race. But that didn't matter to Julian. He would never underestimate his opponent, no matter which role he has. Julian knew his own strengths and weaknesses. He knew how much trouble it gave him in his past life by being arrogant to his opponents.

He won't do it again. Erasing every doubt in his mind that he won't be winning, he set the gear to as pumped up the gas pedal even more to revere his speed until the two cars were bumper to bumper. He needed to win this race.

To prove that he still has the skill and to prove that the car he chose was not just a stock car for modelling.

"Duckie! Let's win this shit!"
