I Arrived In Time

"There is someone standing there." Jun Haru said to the boy next to him.

Right now, they were walking in a hallway.

"What should we do"

"He is a servant. Keal, you should go and tell him that elder Jun Nie needs something, and is calling for a servant." Jun Haru asked the boy named Keal.

"Xin, both of us need to hide," Jun Haru hid in a room with the other boy.

Keal went to the mortal servant and said,

"Hey, you,"

"What is it, lord?" The mortal servant hurriedly bowed.

"Elder Jun Nie is calling for you; he needs something; go," Keal ordered the servant.

"Ok, my lord," the mortal servant did not reject Jun Haru and hurriedly left.

They had used Elder Jun Nie's name because he was also involved in this plan; thus, when the servant goes to the elder and asks if he requires something, elder Jun Nie would probably understand that Jun Haru had used his name. Therefore, elder Jun would most likely give the servant some work. Even if Elder Jun doesn't understand, what could the mortal servant do to them?

"Let's go," Jun and Xin hurriedly came out of the room and left.

After walking for a while, they stood only a little away from the clan leader's daughter's room, about thirty feet away.

"You two, we need to finish this quickly before someone arrives." Jun Haru said to the two boys who were with him.

"Why not? Let's finish this quickly." Keal's tone changed suddenly.

Jun Haru felt something amiss and hurriedly turned around, only to see a knife coming toward him.

Jun Haru couldn't dodge in time, and the knife managed to reach his neck.

However, a light glow appeared on his body and the knife was unable to pierce Jun Haru's neck.

"What is that? You got a treasure on you? But according to our information, you did not have any treasures, so how come you are using one?" Keal said after seeing the glow on Jun's body. The glow had already disappeared.

Jun hurriedly jumped back and said,

"What are you doing?"

"Didn't you say to finish it quickly? I am just doing that." Keal replied with a smile.

"Xin, hurriedly get away from him. He is a traitor." Haru hurriedly asked Xin to get away from Keal.

Xin did just that and came to Jun's side.

Keal said with a sinister smile,

"Hey, you are making it difficult for me. Don't we need to finish this quickly?"

"Who told you to do that?" Jun asked with a serious expression.

"Do you really want to know?"

"Yes," Jun was determined to know.

"I am not telling you." Keal rejected.

Jun Haru did not wait and jumped at Keal. His hands turned gray and looked like they were made of rock. He tried to punch Keal with his right hand. However, Keal dodged and attacked Jun with the knife.

Jun Haru moved his left hand toward the knife and grabbed it. He then punched Keal again, but Keal released the knife that was caught by Haru and jumped backward to dodge Haru's attack.

Both of them tried to make as little noise as possible because they had come here to do something. If one was caught, then all three of them would be punished.

Keal summoned a wind blade and shot it at Haru.

Xin hurriedly jumped in front of Haru and defended by creating an Earth Square in front of himself. The wind blade struck the earth square and disappeared.

"Keal, why are you doing this? If our clan leader knows about this, he will kill your whole family." Xin said with a serious expression to Keal.

"How would the clan leader know if I kill both of you here?" Keal did not care for what Xin said.

"You…" Jun greeted his teeth after hearing Keal.

"You basta*d, I thought you were my friend."

After saying this, Jun Haru jumped at Keal again and a battle started. Xin, on the other hand, helped Jun from time to time. All three of them fought with as little noise as possible.

Even though Xin and Jun were two against Keal, they could not gain the advantage for some reason.

However, after a while, both of them suddenly started to gain an advantage over Keal.

"Strange, there seems nothing wrong with Keal, so how are we gaining the advantage all of a sudden? There is something wrong here, but I can't put my finger on it.¹"

Jun Haru felt that something was wrong. At first, nobody could gain the advantage, however, they started to gain an advantage all of a sudden without any reason.

However, Jun did not have the time to think about this and focused on the fight.

Keal was slowly being pushed back by them and was panting heavily.

Jun Haru punched Keal in the face heavily and then Keal fell to the ground because of it. Just when Jun was about to land another punch on his face, Keal produced a wind blade and shot it toward Jun.

Jun Haru moved his hand in front of himself to defend against the blade.

A crack appeared on his hand because of the wind blade, and his hand started to bleed.

"Do you think you can defeat me that easily? If you do, then you are wrong." Keal said with a smile and slowly tried to stand up.

However, he was thrown back by Jun's kick. Jun pulled out a knife and said,

"Now, die,"

Jun Haru moved his hand backward and was about to attack Keal with the knife to kill him.

However, he froze all of a sudden and looked down. What he saw was that a blade had pierced his stomach, and the blood was falling from the sword's tip. He looked behind and saw Xin smiling.

"Why? Why did you do that?"

"You still don't get it, huh? Try to think back to the battle again." Xin spoke with a ruthless smile.

"Oh, now I get it. So, that was what I could not put my finger on. I know now why we were unable to gain the advantage over Keal even though we were two, and then we got the advantage suddenly without any changes. It's because you were helping Keal by obstructing me without letting me realize it. And here I thought you were helping me, how foolish." Tears fell down Jun Haru's eyes. He wanted to live.

"Huh, so, you understand now, that's good."

"Please, spare me, am I not your friend?" Jun Haru begged for his life, but only silence welcomed him.

"You bast*rds, I always took care of you. I shared everything with you, but you can't even spare me." Jun Haru wanted to shout loudly and call for help; however, he did not have enough strength to do that.

But he only saw Keal and Xin smiling. He fell down on the ground whilst his back faced the sealing.

Xin put his foot on Jun's face and said,

"Beg, beg more for your life, ehehehe,"

"Please, I beg you, I beg you, spare me." Jun Haru did not feel humiliated and still kept on begging.

It was to be expected, after all, he was the son of an elder. He never faced any difficulty and lived happily all his life. He got everything he wanted all his life, but now that his life was in danger, he could not think of anything and wanted to live.

It was the reality of the world. The wealthier a person was and the more comfortably they lived, the more difficult it was for them to leave and accept death. After all, they got everything they wanted their whole life; they lived enjoying their life, so how could they leave all this easily?

It was like climbing to the top of the power or becoming a powerful cultivator, and then all of a sudden, they had to leave all this; would they accept it? No, nobody would want to lose everything they got. The more a person had, the more difficult it was for them to leave all this.

Like on earth, the people in power would blame the others and would try to win the public's hearts by making false promises. This was to remain in power. If they really cared for people, they would do things that can help the people instead of wasting time blaming others. Time reveals the reality. Everyone wanted fame and all. Yang Zhai had discovered the reality of these prisons a long time ago. They were just hindering a person's real talent.

If everyone realized that they had to leave this world empty-handed, reality would appear in front of them, and they would realize that this wealth and fame do not accompany a person to their death. This wealth, fame, false promises, everything was just a hindrance to one's future.

Jun Haru kept on begging. His face was covered in tears.

"Do you know who asked us to kill you?" Xin said all of a sudden.

"I beg you, spare me." However, Jun Haru still kept on begging.

"It was your father, elder Jun Nie. How tragic, a father wants to kill his own son. This world is really ruthless." Xin said with a smile, however, he still didn't see any shock on Jun Haru's face, as if Jun knew about it. Jun Haru kept on begging.

"Forget it, now die," Xin did not bother to think about it and put the blade on Jun's neck.

However, Keal saw Xin's head falling to the ground. Xin's blade was still on Jun's neck, but Xin's head separated from his body and fell down.

"I arrived just in time," a voice came from behind Xin's body.

"You are here!" Jun Haru looked up and said after seeing someone.
