Art Buddies!

Chapter starts with Sunny standing in her neighborhood, evidently on her way to school, although she isn't walking.

Sunny: Ugh, darn! I was hoping to catch Kai on his way to school! W-would he even want to talk to me, though? I mean, he kinda-sorta asked me to be his girlfriend, kind of, but does, uh, ugh, does that mean he's interested in me? I mean— *Gets a text* Huh, huh! It's FC!

FC: "Mornin' Shu!"

Shu: "Hey FC!"

Sunny: Hey, what is he doing texting me this morning, so early? Well, I guess it's not uncommon— uh, huh?

FC: "I had fun this weekend"

Sunny: Huh, doing the dungeon?

Shu: "Doing the dungeon?"

Sunny: Of course you did! I had to heal you through the entire thing!

Shu: "OF COURSE YOU DID!" "I had to heal you through it!"

Sunny: Ugh. It was fun, though.

FC: "LOL! Right :)" "But I did tank the whole thing"

Shu: "Pfft fine!" "We're even then."

Sunny: Still... Maybe we should do it again sometime! That would be great!

FC: "Hey, I wanted to ask you a question"

Shu: "Yes?"

Sunny: What does–?

FC: "Are you okay being my friend?"

Sunny: Ah, what?

Shu: "wat?" "why?"

Sunny: Uh, is everything okay with him?

FC: "I just want to know, kinda meh right now"

Shu: "Oh shush you. We've been friends for years like this" "Honestly, I can't get rid of you. :P"

Sunny: Haha! Hopefully that brings him out of his funk.

FC: "..." "Thanks Shu"

Sunny: Hm. Um,

Shu: "I like it when ur weird but (seriously) chill" "I'll always be ur friend even if we never meet"

Sunny: There we go. heh. *Sighs* Sometimes, I swear. Still,

FC: ":)"

Sunny: Oh, hehe.

FC: "Have a great day, Shu"

Shu: "U 2, FC :)"

Sunny: Heh, I swear, FC can be so weird sometimes.

Kai: Hey beautiful.

Sunny: Laurance?! "Beautiful"?!

Kai: Why, thank you.

Sunny: No no no! I didn't mean that!

Kai: Oh?

Sunny: No, no, no! Not that! I meant that you're absolutely beautiful and any girl would dream about you at night. Heheheh.

Kai: Do you?

Sunny: What?!

Kai: Because I dream of you.

Sunny faints on the floor.

Kai: Fainted again. Should I wake you up with a kiss?

Sunny: Yes! I-I– No-No– uh, I mean, why are you doing this?

Kai: Doing what?

Sunny: Making me blush like this.

Kai: Because it's cute. Plus, you overreact, it's kind of funny.

Sunny: Are my emotions funny to you?!

Kai: Just a little. Heheh.

Sunny: I-I see. So, you really are a tease.

Kai: Usually. But with you, I don't know, it's kind of different.

Sunny: U-Uh.

Kai: I'm glad I ran into you. What do you... Want to walk to school together?

Sunny: R-Really? *Voice cracks on next line* I-I mean yes, I'd love to.

Kai: Hm, that voice crack is cute, too. Come on, let's go.

They walk down the sidewalk. They are now arriving at the school.

Kai: So, what class do you have first?

Sunny: Uh– Oh, my first class? Oh, well, let me see. *Looks at schedule* Oh wow, it looks like I have—

Vaele: Ah, good morning, you two.

Kai: Morning, Vaele.

Sunny: Morning.

Vaele: Hey Sunny, H-How was your weekend?

Sunny: Oh, uh, it was good. I got to go to the park with these two cool guys. Hehe!

Vaele: Heh, that's sweet.

Sunny: Haha! How about yours?

Vaele: I went to the park too with this beautiful Snivy so, it went pretty fantastic.

Sunny: *Nervous excited noise*

Kai: Too bad you missed walking with her this morning.

Sunny: What?

Kai: I just walked with that beautiful Snivy this morning to school.

Vaele: Oh you did? Well, maybe I'll have to walk her to school next time.

Sunny: Heh, or maybe she can just walk herself.

Vaele: I'm sure she can. It's just, maybe I'd like to get to know her more.

Sunny: Eee! So classes! I really should get to mine! Heh!

Kai: Right, so what class do you have again?

Sunny: Uh, I have Art 101.

Vaele and Kai: Really? Oh, me too!

Sunny: We all have the same class together?!

Kai: THAT'S AWESOME!

Vaele: YEAH!

Sunny: Heh, we should take a picture!

Kai and Vaele: Picture?

Sunny: Mm hm. To celebrate us as art buddies.

Vaele: S-Sure.

Kai: I'm down.

Sunny: Hehe, alright, com here. Uh... heh. *Takes the selfie* Haha! Perfect! Thank you guys so much! Hehe! *The bell rings* Uh,

Vaele: Ah, we should get to class.

Sunny: Hehe! I'm so excited! I love art!

Kai: Really? So you... art a lot?

Sunny: Uh, well, I draw, mostly. Um, so—

Kai: Bet you're pretty good at it.

Sunny: Mmm, not really. I kind of just doodle a lot. I did it when I was in home school, heheh.

Vaele: Still, that's more than I can do. I'm absolute rubbish at art. I still remember when I tried to sculpture for the first time.

Kai: Oh yeah, you made a pretty good ashtray. I was impressed.

Sunny: Hm.

Vaele: ... It was supposed to be a vase...

Sunny: Hehehe!

Vaele: *Sighs* I can't believe you talked me into this, Laurance...

Kai: You didn't have to take art with me. It's your fault for being such a good friend.

Vaele: ...Thanks?

Sunny: So, why are you talking Art, Kai?

Kai: Because of my sister. She's kind of really artsy and said I had to take some kind of art class if I was going to be her brother. *Sighs* Cadenza can be a little dramatic.

Vaele: True, but lots of our classmates find her cute.

Kai: HEY! SHE'S MY SISTER!

Sunny: Hehe! Well, I think that's nice, Kai. I'm sure she appreciates it.

Kai: Well, come on. We should get going. Y-you should stay close to me.

Sunny: Huh? What?

Kai: Don't want you getting lost on your way to class again, do we? You still don't know your way around here yet, do you?

Sunny: Eh, well no, but I-I'm getting better. I can just get– I can get to lunch just fine, hehe! Hehe.

Vaele: So you're saying that you can find the largest room in the center of the school?

Sunny: I... Really like lunch.

Kai: Heh, you know, I used to get lost all the time in these halls.

Sunny: Uh, Really?!

Kai: Oh yeah! In my first year, I went to the wrong homeroom for an entire week.

Sunny: W-What?! You stayed in the wrong homeroom for a week straight? What the?

Kai: Yeah, I was really embarrassed. I didn't want to bring any attention to myself, so I would just keep my head down and wait for the first bell.

Sunny: What?! Really?! Uh, what about the homeroom teacher– what about the homeroom teacher? Didn't he care that you were in the wrong class?

Kai: Mr. Castor? Haha, nah, he didn't seem to mind at all. Actually, I'm not sure he even noticed me.

Sunny: Mmm.

Vaele: Hmm... Maybe we'll both walk you there.

Kai: Hey! I haven't gotten lost once since then!

Vaele: Right, right, of course you haven't. So, how's the soccer team look this year, Kai?

Sunny: You play soccer, Kai?

Kai: Ugh, they're a mess. We'll be lucky if we can make it through the season in one piece.

Vaele: Sounds like it might be the captain's fault there.

Kai: Oh, haha, sure, let's blame it on the new captain. But we lost all of our best players. Honestly, I'll be happy if we can just beat O'Khasis Prep this year.

Vaele: Maybe try to be more realistic. We've lost to them six years running. Maybe I should have went there instead.

Sunny: Hm, wait, what? Kai, soccer?

Kai: Sure do. In fact, you're looking at the captain of the team.

Sunny: Wow! A captain!

Kai: *He, Vaele, and Sunny start walking to class* You should come to a game some time.

Vaele: Looking to add another fan girl to your cheering section, Kai?

Kai: N-No! It's not like that. I mean it... It wouldn't– It would be nice knowing Sunny is in the stands, cheering me on.

Sunny: Yeah, um, that sounds like it could be fun. Heh, heheh.

Kai: Really? Great! I'll get you a schedule.

Vaele: *Going ahead of everyone* Oh look, here we are, at last.

Sunny and Laurance walk to catch up with him. Inside of the Art room, Vaele and Kai are sitting with Sunny sitting between them.

Teacher: Good morning Students and welcome to Art 101. I'll be your Art teacher. Now today, we're going to learn all about—

Vaele: *To Sunny* You should teach me how to draw sometime.

Sunny: What? Bu-but we're in Art class right now!

Vaele: I know, but I mean, I'm not good at drawing at all, really. So some private lessons from you would be awesome.

Sunny: But I'm not an expert artist!

Vaele: I know, but maybe we can learn together.

Sunny: Hehehehe! How 'bout we see where this class goes first, hm?

Vaele: Fair enough.

Kai: Grr...

Teacher: So, do we have any volunteers to be our first drawing subject of the year?

Sunny: Oh, me!

Vaele and Kai: You?!

Teacher: Well, and here I thought everyone here would be too shy, but you seem rather outgoing. Are you sure you want everyone to draw you? Some people aren't too pleased with others' perspectives of them.

Sunny: *Laughs* I don't mind. Everyone has different views, and I'd like to embrace them.

Teacher: Very well. Come on up and pose. Now students, you have one hour to draw this beautiful Snivy. This will be a test to see where your skills are. Ready? Go!

Pencil writing noises start. The teacher walks out to the class.

Teacher: Alright, students. Pencils down. Leave your drawings at my desk before you go, and we'll go over them next class. Thank you young lady for being so courageous.

Sunny: No problem!

Teacher: Oh, as for your submissions for the work, if you could just submit a drawing next class so I can see where you are, you can pick anything to draw.

Sunny: Awesome! See you later! *She walks over to Baele and Kai* Hey, can I see your drawings?

Kai: Oh, um, sure. Ok. *He shows her his drawing*

Sunny: Wow!

Kai: Yeah, it's nothing crazy but, I tried.

Sunny: It looks beautiful. Vaele, can I see yours?

Vaele: *Looks down* Ugh, no.

Sunny: Oh, come on!

Vaele: It's really bad.

Sunny: Please?

Vaele: *Sighs and shows her his drawing. It looks kind of like a green gingerbread stick figure girl*

Kai: Hahahaha!

Sunny: Heheheh, this is... heheheh, Vaele, it's beautiful.

Vaele: *Looks up* Really?

Sunny: Yes it is. I do think you need some work, but I love it.

Vaele: Th-Thank you.

Sunny: Heheheh. Hey, maybe you and I should practice some time. I actually do think I have a few pointers for you.

Vaele: He, heheh, that sounds great.
