Chapter 8 Start of the war

At the grounds of Marineford, time 12:59 Am.

There were a total of a hundred thousand elite marine soldiers at Marineford.

The civilians have been evacuated to another island and everyone is just on their last preparations, readying for the war ahead of them.

On the execution platform, there were two old men and a young man on it, the two old men were wearing marine uniforms while the young man was on his knees, chained up in sea stone cuffs.

The bottom of the execution platform, there were 4 chairs that spell out exclusivity, it was the chairs of the four admirals.

Three middle-aged men were on their respective chairs, sitting quietly and waiting for the war to start. There was a chair empty, and it looks like one of the admirals is late.

Footsteps were heard and a young girl that looked like a child appeared, she was wearing a marine uniform with a gold-ingrained justice cloak.

She walked to her chair and sat down, her position was just next to Kizaru as she sighed and complained, "Kizaru, do you know that today is supposed to be my rest day?"

"Oh~ You too, Yumi?" Kizaru said in surprise, and he continued with his usual slow and relaxed tone. "That old man sengoku is quite stingy with our rest days, maybe if we perform slightly better in this war, he'll give us a month of paid vacation."

Yumi's eyes lit up when hearing this, "Really? That's great! If I perform better than I could blackmail him to give me a paid vacation."

While the two lazy admirals were chatting leisurely, their voices were not low, sengoku above the platform could hear it perfectly fine and he had black lines on his forehead.

"Don't be kidding, even if you take care of all the emperors of the sea, I won't give you any paid vacation." Sengoku muttered.

Look at the higher ups, since they are not worried about the outcome of the war then it must mean they have confidence to win it.

Dying a meaningless death is a horrible result for any person but dying for justice is something that is acceptable to most people and even an honor.

If everyone were to see the fall of whitebeard in the hands of the marines, they would have more faith in the world government and in turn, pirates will have more fear to the marines.

Now there is an opportunity to lower the confidence of pirates and of course sengoku would do it.

Just as the time reaches 2 PM, there was still no signs of whitebeard. The marine ships patrolling the area hasn't found whitebeard yet and the people down below are getting anxious.

"Is whitebeard gonna come?"

"I don't know yet, maybe he got scared away, haha!"

The discussions of the marine elites sounded as more and more people came to a conclusion that whitebeard was scared away.

In a few minutes, the calm water on the port of the sea became turbulent and suddenly a giant whale-themed ship rose up from the sea.

With his words, the marine elites, rear admirals, and vice admirals all ready their weapons and on the port, the huge cannon muzzles were aimed at the Moby Dick.

Whitebeard just had a smile to this as he clenched both his fist and hit the air, mirror-like cracks appeared and in a moment, as if a bomb was set off in the seabed, the ocean currents became turbulent.

Two huge tsunami were moving towards Marineford with unstoppable momentum, the marine elites looked shocked and some even dropped their weapons in fright.

'Is this the power of the strongest man in the world? Whitebeard?' was the thoughts of the marine elite footsoldiers.

Aokiji suddenly stood up from his chair, he leaped forward and appeared at the center of the two huge tsunamis.

"Ice Age!"

A huge blast of icy cold air were launched, and the two huge tsunamis instantly became solid ice, whitebeard wasn't surprised at this, "Kuzan-brat, you have become stronger since the last time I've seen you."

"You have become older, whitebeard." Retorted Aokiji.

Because of freezing the huge tsunamis, the sea was also frozen, providing a solid platform for the battle.

The pirates on board and the marine elites on the port all hopped on the frozen platform and began fighting.

When Aokiji fell to the ice platform, he began fighting the division captain of the whitebeard pirates.

On the execution platform, Yumi said, "Kizaru, it's now your time to shine, as you said, if you perform better than a year of vacation is not a dream."

"Oh~ you might not know this but sengoku is really strict with the vacation days, much less a month, even a week is hard to get from him." when Kizaru said this, Yumi sighed at his laziness before contemplating whether to end this war quick?

In that time frame, there were more than a dozen pirate crews affiliated with the whitebeard pirates that came to support and many of those crew were either destroyed or severely injured.

As a result, the battlefield was quieter than the start.

On the other hand, Yumi looked at this indifferently, those marines signed up and did this for justice and for those that perished, the least she could do is to ensure a victory in this war.

In the original timeline, the warlords didn't help at all on the battlefield, only taking out pirates that come to them and looking for death.

But this time, the warlords and admirals were cooperating together, holding the cadres and looking for a way to defeat them.

It was all due to Yumi, with her intimidation and threats, she was able to let the warlords fight effectively in this war.

Now the two kings in this chess game, Yumi and Whitebeard stood on the side, waiting for an opportunity to strike a decisive blow to the marines.

Though only whitebeard is thinking it like this, Yumi was just bored and decided to wait for a while until she feels like she should take action.

She turned her head at the sides and looked at the empty chairs beside her.

"Oh, how lonely I am~" She said dramatically as her backhand covered one of her eye.

Just as she did this silly action, a ship appeared in the distant, it had a red design, and two sea snakes could be seen pulling it.

As it gradually approached the battlefield, most people turned towards and gasped in surprise, "The Kuja pirates? Are they reinforcements?"

Yumi who was sitting on the platform had a smirk on her face, "It looks like the snake lady chose to betray the marines…but I still wonder if love sickness is really real?"

Love sickness is a really strange disease in the one piece world.

Once contracted, you'll experience extreme pain and later death. The only way to survive this disease is to love the man you contracted from.

A very weird disease…
