The next day morning, Zane was in the kitchen making toast and he accidentally touched the inside of the toaster.

"Ahhh shit," said Zane as he felt his hand get burned, he lifted his hand expecting to see a red burn but to his surprise, his hand was as good as new.

He was still looking at his hand when his uncle walked in. "Zane can you go pick up the girls from miss Bordeaux's house she had an early shift.

"No problem," said Zane who ignored his hand and ate his toast.

He then grabbed his keys and drove a short way to their home.

Isabelle and Abby were already waiting for him on the front porch.

"He's here let's go," said Abby.

Isabelle was walking when she saw a shadow move at the corner of her eye.

"Hey did you see that?" said Isabelle.

"What?" said Abby and Zane simultaneously.

"Nevermind," said Isabelle.

They both got into the car and Zane drove them to school.

While driving they almost hit a car that was driving way above the speed limit.

"Hey what the fucks wrong with you?" said Zane.

said Zane once they all got down from their various vehicles

"Hide me," said Abby to Isabelle.

"Why," said Isabelle.

"That's my trash ex-boyfriend," said Abby.

"Wait, the one that left you for your ex-best friend?" said Isabelle.

"Yes," said Abby.

"Get that old ass van off the road," said the snobby boy.

"How about you look where you're going," said Abby.

"Oh Abigail, is this your new boyfriend you know I was always too good for you but he seems just right," said The boy.

Before Abby or Zane could even speak to everyone's surprise Isabelle said, "Oh shut up daddy's boy go be a problem somewhere else."

"Common let's just go where gonna be late," said Zane.

Abby didn't budge she was infuriated at him for everything he did to her and just wanted to let go of that anger she looked at the fire hydrant he was standing next to and immediately she did that it exploded and blasted him with water.

Zane and Isabelle saw it explode and they started laughing.

"Looks like even intimate objects find you annoying," said Zane.

Abby's ex-boyfriend then walked to his car and drove off angrily.

"The universe works in mysterious ways," said Abby who was still laughing.

"Did I do that?" whispered Abby to herself.

They got to the school and as they were walking in, Maddie passed them in the hall and gave Zane side-eye.

"I thought we worked through all this territorial business," said Abby.

"We broke up later last night, don't ask," said Zane as he left to go do his training.

"Wow, ok," said Abby.

"See you later I gotta go with him for tryouts I guess," said Isabelle and she left and went in the same direction with him.

Abby was walking to class when Jenna, whose hair was messy. Abby then noticed her deep dark circles and asked, "Are you ok? you look horrible."

"I'm fine, I just got zero sleep last night I kept having nightmares.

You wanna know the strangest thing I couldn't remember anything that happened in the nightmares," said Jenna.

"Sorry you should get some coffee, do you have literature first period?" said Abby.

"Yeah," said Jenna.

"Ok let's walk together and grab some coffee on the say there," said Abby.

"Ok," replied Jenna.

Meanwhile, in the school field, Zane and Isabelle were doing laps in their p.e uniforms and Maddie who was supposed to be leading cheerleading practice was staring at both of them.

"Hey can sit this one out coach?" said Nathan "I don't feel so good this morning."

"Okay," replied the coach

A few hours later, during Chemistry class Isabelle and Zane were paired together for the practical.

They were having fun and Maddie noticed this while holding a test tube filled with water the test tube immediately started to foam and emit white gas so, the teacher sent her out of the class thinking she broke the lab rules and mixed two off-limit chemicals together.

After a couple minutes, Isabelle took a hall pass from the teacher and went to pee.

When she walked into the girl's bathroom she heard someone crying in one of the stalls.

She then walked towards it and asked, "Are you ok in there?"

"I'm fine, leave me alone," said the girl.

"Maddie is that you?" said Isabelle upon recognizing her voice.

"Yeah, what do you want?" replied Maddie.

"Why are you crying?" said Isabelle.

When she didn't get a reply, she said, "Is it because you and Zane broke up?"

"Yeah, he broke up with me," said Maddie.

"Why?" asked Isabelle.

"We were arguing last night about him bonding me around and then I said something u shouldn't have about his patents," said Maddie.

"What did you say?" asked Isabelle.

"What do you care? you're the one helping him make me jealous all day," said Maddie.

"What? no, we were just hanging out," said Isabelle.

"You know, what it doesn't matter, did you apologize?" said Abby.

"Yeah but he said we can just be friends," said Maddie.

"Well maybe you both aren't good for each other maybe one day you'll find someone even better than Zane," said Isabelle.

"You really think so?" said Maddie.

"Yeah, now I gotta pee," said Isabelle.

"Hey Isabelle, thanks for this," said Maddie.

"Sure," said Isabelle.

When Isabelle was done peeing she saw Maddie fixing her makeup at one of the mirrors and she went to wash her hands.

As she was going her hands, she saw a shadow move across the room in her room and turned around and she saw nothing.

Maddie noticed this and said, "What was that?"

"You can see it too?" asked Isabelle.

"No, you just turned your head really quickly I figure you saw something," said Maddie.

"Hey, this might sound weird but can I sleep over at your house tonight?"

"Why," said Isabelle.

"Well my aunt isn't gonna be home and my cheerleading friends are gonna just make fun of me for being dumped and I don't really wanna stay alone," said Maddie.

"You know what? sure," but your gonna have to tell Abby.

Later that night, Abby and Isabelle were having dinner.

"I can't believe she's sleeping here," said Abby

"I wasn't gonna let her just stay alone? she was all depressed," said Isabelle.

"You did the right thing, Isa," said Miss Bordeaux.

"Mom you too? Fine whatever but she's sleeping in your room", said Abby.

When Maddie eventually arrived, she came in with her stuff and greeted Miss Bordeaux respectfully. She even hugged Isabelle.

"Is she the same person who we go to school with?" said Abby and Isabelle shrugged her shoulders.

After showing Maddie to Isabelle's room, they started preparing to watch when Isabelle said "Can I tell you guys something?"

"yeah," said Abby.

"Okay," said Maddie. Then they both proceeded to sit on Abby's bed and then Isabelle said, "I've been seeing weird shadows all day, and weird things have been happening to me all day."

"Me too said," Abby and Maddie simultaneously.

"Well not the shadows part but weird things have been happening to me all day," said Abby, and Maddie nodded in agreement.

"Wait do you think we're being haunted by the dead kids in the librarian's story," said Maddie jokingly.

"Only one way to find out, let's hold a seance," said Abby.

"No, No way," said Isabelle.

"Come on you know I've always been into these horror movie-type things, please?" said Abby.

"Fine," said Isabelle.

"Already googled one, we need an onyx fit protection against negative energy and we need like five candles," said Maddie.

"I'll go get the candles in the kitchen," said Isabelle.

"I'm pretty sure my mom has an onyx laying around somewhere she's superstitious like that," said Abby.

Once they gathered the ingredients, they lit the candles and sat in a circle crossing their legs and holding each other's hands.

"Should we turn off the lights," said Maddie.

"Yeah let's do it," said Abby, she then stood up turned if the room lights, and sat back in her position.

"What do we do know," said Isabelle.

"We ask if anyone is here and close our eyes," said Maddie.

"You should probably ask since you're the one seeing the shadows," said Abby.

"Ok," said Isabelle.

They all closed their eyes and then Isabelle said "Is anyone there." and nothing happened they only heard quiet, so she tried again by saying, "Reveal yourself." Immediately she said that the flames on the candle wicks burned more intensely and turned blue.

"Ok is that your proof let's stop this," said Isabelle.

"No we have to get to the bottom of this," said Abby.

Abby then asked, "who are you?".

But there was no response instead, the windows of the room flew open.

"Abby I think you made it mad," said Isabelle.

"Why are you here," said Maddie, and the melted wax from the candles started moving with a mind of its own. After a while, it spelled out 'Isabelle', and then the name burst into flames and the onyx shattered into hundreds of shards.

"Umm guys I can't move," said Maddie.

"Me too," said Abby, and Isabelle nodded in agreement.

They were about to start screaming when Abby's mom ran into the room and saw what was going on.

She screamed "Discede," and all the activity stopped and the girls fell on the floor.
