Chapter 9: From Fear to Bankruptcy

Cale's words did bring some comfort to Yuuki Kitahara.

In this situation, with the mysterious means showed by the mysterious merchant, there was little need for the other side to deceive him.

With his eyes resting on the jars, some cold sweat appeared involuntarily on his palms.

He was a very ambitious man and had amassed a large fortune starting as an ordinary man, but because of that, he was more afraid of death than anyone else.

"I wonder how much these jars, are worth?"

He asked tentatively out loud, while glaring hard at his older son, who was still trembling uncontrollably, and in comparison, his second son who had tried to calm down, was significantly better.

"These are just first grade jars, worth, fifty thousand a piece." Cale lifted five fingers.

"Fifty thousand?"

Yuuki Kitahara was a little surprised. Not because it was expensive, but because it was, surprisingly, so cheap?

After all, according to the mysterious merchant, these jars could contain great power and even immortality.

"Having just started doing business, it's natural to start small and build trust first."

As if he knew what he was thinking, Cale laughed lightly, "I, as a businessman, value the word trust."

"…Good!"

Yuuki Kitahara also pulled out his gumption as the head of the family.

Stretching out his hand, he respectfully placed the five hundred thousand coins in front of Cale.

"Then, the deal stands."

With a wave of Cale's hand, the coins disappeared, "Won't you open it and take a look? Trust me, it won't let you down."

Yuuki Kitahara's palm trembled slightly.

It would naturally be great if it just ended after the purchase, but unfortunately, it was obviously not that simple.

He took a silent and deep breath. Reaching out his palm, he was about to open it when…

"Father."

His second son suddenly spoke up, "Let me do it."

"Ryuta …"

Yuuki Kitahara was a little touched, after all, who knew what these jars would contain when they are opened.

In the end, he nodded. After all, the Kitahara family couldn't do without him.

Kitahara Ryuta, with the same sweaty palms, carefully looked at Cale before gritting his teeth and violently opening one of the jars.

Inside was a halo of light.

"Congratulations!"

The sudden sound that Cale made scared all three of them, but he didn't pat them any heed and continued.

"Surprisingly, the first jar has opened a rare item worth sixty thousand."

With a congratulatory smile, Cale raised his hand, and this small corona of light flew up, "This is an experience corpus, representing the experience one gets from swinging a sword fourteen hundred times. So, would the customer like to try it?"

Yes, it was a custom item.

Although custom items are expensive, Cale had kept the cost to the minimum of the six hundred trading point limit on the deal anyway.

The point was that, it worked wonders to take some of the guard off of these trembling customers, as well as increase their interest.

Faced with Cale's smile, Yuuki Kitahara fell silent.

"Father."

It was still Ryuta Kitahara who spoke up, "Please let me give it a try."

"Ryuta." Yuuki Kitahara gave a relieved look, "It seems that I have cared for you too little in the past."

It was true that he didn't like this second son much, but the way he behaved today was a great relief to Yuuki Kitahara.

Cale watched the scene with interest.

These people…

Without saying too much, Ryuuta Kitahara showed a determined expression on his face, then, stretched out his hand and slowly touched the halo of light.

There was a flash, but the halo of light didn't enter his palm.

Ryuuta Kitahara's body immediately stiffened as he felt his arm faintly heat up, and a memory that was not his own surfaced in his mind — a memory of himself, swinging his sword at the stake a full fourteen hundred times, never stopping, even subconsciously, as his palm became a false grip on the sword.

By the time his consciousness came back to him, he dumbfoundedly looked at his palm.

There were even blisters worn from holding the sword.

First an expression of incredulity appeared, then after a few swings of the arm, a look of delight and shock replaced the incredulity.

"Father."

He looked to his father and excitedly showed him the blisters on his palms, and made a gesture of swinging his sword, with an unusually standard and seamless movement.

Surprisingly, it was all true!

Yuuki Kitahara couldn't help but take a deep breath.

He couldn't have been clearer in his disregard for his second son, who, because of his weaker frame, hadn't been exercising at all, but had been reading instead.

But these blisters…It was clearly newly sharpened from sword training!

Not to mention the skillful sword swinging stance…How exactly did that happen?

Yuuki Kitahara felt his scalp tingling in shock, it was beyond his comprehension.

With a smile on the corner of his mouth, Cale slowly and methodically straightened his not-so-messy collar, and then, in a soft voice, he said.

"This, right here, is the magic of the jar, which holds goods you cannot fathom. Would you like to continue?"

His words seemed to be a reminder to the men, and it dawned on Yuuki Kitahara.

He looked at the nine remaining jars. Surprisingly, they were some eye candy to him now.

He had become vaguely aware of it.

This may not be a crisis for their Kitahara family, but an opportunity, a great opportunity in the sky!

The next jar, he then opened it himself.

Inside was… A dagger.

"There are plain and simple goods too."

Cale shrugged his shoulders slightly, "After all, this is only the cheapest first grade jar."

'Ordinary?'

Yuuki Kitahara held it in his hand, the cold face of the blade reflecting his haggard face under the candlelight, the cold blade even stung his eyes.

This was an unbeatable tool. Not to mention the grooves on top.

Yuuki Kitahara, who also dared to fight and kill in his youth, could tell it's worth.

"Nice knife." He exclaimed.

"Please continue." Cale prodded slightly.

The cost of maintaining this mirror space was a bit greater than these commodities.

He was going to sell twenty sets of level one jars as quickly as possible, and then start selling level two jars.

"Yes!"

Yuuki Kitahara had also eased up from his initial fear and looked at Cale with awe, as well as a vague excitement in his gaze!

Even the eldest son who behaved badly held the same gaze.

At this point they all stopped trembling and had a few curious, even eager looks at the remaining jars.

Cale could see what would happen next.

From fear, to anticipation, to fascination and finally…Bankruptcy!

One by one, jar after jar was opened.

Various magical items appeared inside.

This series, in Cale's composition, it was a jar belonging to the "Kendo series".

So, he had put weapons in there, sword practice experience, remnants of sword secrets, and even a subtle wisp of sword intent, from the Sword Immortal World.

Even if it was very subtle and fleeting, it was enough to leave the three people in front of him in shock.

They did not feel anything substantial, but only seemed to "see", a break in the greatness of the mountains and rivers.

It was the unimaginable realm, as if it were a deity.

And after those ten jars were opened, Cale pressed slightly.

Yuuki Kitahara, without saying a word, simply decided to go ahead and buy the next jar with eyes that had begun to go wild.
