Meeting my brother

Karaoke and game night was tonight. Lilith had officially finished her first year at Hidden Ville High School with an A+. Very impressive. To celebrate, the class representative had proposed for everyone to go to KTV together. Of course, no one was going to miss that much fun, especially not Lilith, considering that she had not gone to a place like that in her old life and since she started training with her new body.

She was waiting for Becky and Gina as being the smartest out of the trio, she had finished before them. They were supposed to collect their report sheets and then go home before meeting at the designated place. It was no surprise that Gina had left her previous friends, Lilith believed it was only a matter of time.

After some time, they came out together, laughing over whatever it was and walked home together. Along the line, Lilith, having been trained, had noticed a black Audi on their trail since they left school. Even after Gina left, the Audi continued to tail them. It could only mean one thing. Whoever was in that car wanted either her or Becky. She had just made new friends and didn't want them to part ways as of yet.

While she was still soliloquizing, the car had stopped beside them and the window at the front was rolled down. She recognized the one driving, it was the butler, Mr. Regan. He waved at her, beaconing for her to come. She guessed that her Grandpa had sent for her, maybe something happened at home. She decided to dismiss Becky.

"Um..sorry, I'll see you later. I need to go home"

"Is that your car?" The overly nosey friend asked her while pointing.

Now that she mentioned it, the car didn't look like any in their garage.

"Yes, got to go, bye..". Lilith waved.

" Hey, Mr. Regan. Why are you here? "

"Your Grandfather asked me to come pick you up, he wants me to bring you somewhere "

"Oh.....Okay"

"Are we there yet?"

"I'm sorry, young miss, but the location is still pretty far. You might want to take a nap"

Although grumbling, she reluctantly agreed, asking the butler turned driver to reduce the car temperature and engage the divider.

As seconds turned into minutes and minutes into hours, Lilith drifted into an unnatural sleep. When she woke up, she was in a dark room. Her first thought was, had she been kidnapped?

The next was, maybe it was a test by her Grandpa. She settled for the second. She knew her Grandpa, he was likely to do this kind of thing. Probably one of his trainings. Although she had accepted, it didn't mean that she liked to do it without prior knowledge. She had to give that man a piece of her mind when she got out of the place. If she ever got out on her own.

Trying to leave, she became aware of the state of her body. She had been bound by thick acrobatic ropes and was placed on the floor. The ground was cold to touch so it was likely made of cement. Luckily she wasn't blindfolded therefore she was certain that her eyes would get accustomed to the darkness. While she was waiting, she decided to use the advice her Grandpa had given her. She had to continue to move if she was one day trapped in this kind of situation unless her limbs would get stiff and she would be unable go escape if the chance finally came.

She was wiggling when a door open from one side of the room and the light was abruptly switched on. Her eyes, trying to get accustomed to the brightness, settled on the stature of a man with blonde hair like hers. Luckily, she had died her hair strawberry blonde. She didn't like wearing the same thing with someone else. It was the main reason she hated uniforms and couldn't wait to graduate out of high school.

"Do you know who I am?" The mam who had turned he back towards her and his face away from her asked.

Didn't Grandpa send him here, why was he asking her who he was? How was she supposed to know that? Although she was one hundred percent sure he was no shadow guard as she knew them all, except for the higher ups of course. The higher ups...maybe this was high level training by one of them. Was she about to be promoted to a captain of a shadow team, at the age of sixteen, what a feat....a one of its kind achievement. She would become a legend.

"I have no idea, Sir!". Why was her voice so raspy. She really needed water or else she might die from thirst before she became captain.

"Well Darling, I'm Nikolai, your elder brother"
