Her

Mathew's Pov

As Tim and I make it to the bakery I am thinking about this evening. I wish I could find my mate but I haven't yet. It seems she is not in my pack. I guess I will go to this year's singles ball at the Starlight Pack to see if I can find her. But tonight is just for the pack to hang out. I ordered the cake and pastries for the kids mostly I knew they would like that. Mom said she set it up with aunt Edith to have it ready for pickup. So here we are getting ready to pull up and go in.

My head is still in the clouds as I open the door. As I open the door I feel it hit something hard. That's when I look up and see her fall. I grab her before she hits the ground. As I wrap my arms around her I feel the most amazing electrical charge. She is my mate, but she is not a wolf. I know she is different but I'm not sure how. Aunt Edith rushes over to make sure we are okay. I can't help but stare at her for a minute. She has beautiful glossy black hair pulled up into a messy bun. The most startling green eyes I have ever seen. She only comes up to my chest so I think she is about five foot tall. I do notice that her ears have a delicate point to them. For a moment she seems dazed then she snaps out of it and leaves the room, Then I turn to Aunt Edith.

" Who is she? I know she is not a wolf but she's not human either. Aunt Edith she is my mate. But I don't know how to proceed with this."

" Her name is Ellen, she has worked with me for the last three years. Her parents died two years ago. I have watched over her every since. She does not know anything about us. She doesn't know we are related either. I know she is different but not sure how. I do know she has a few gifts but we will talk about that later. Both of her parents were human. She doesn't trust easy so be nice. We can work through this if we work together. Invite her to the party tonight and get to know her. She is coming out with the cake now so see what she has to say."

She brings out a large box and sets in on the table. I nod to Tim and he takes it out to the car. Then she goes back in and gets more stuff. After two more trips Tim takes out the last of the pastries. And thans when I turn and ask her a few questions.

"Okay so is that everything? And I was wondering would you like to come to the party tonight?"

I think it's cute that she looks to Aunt Edith first then turning back to me she says she would like to. I am so excited I can't wait for tonight. Tim and I get in the car and we head back to the Pack house. Once we get there I have my gamma and Delta help get the pastries out of the car. Sadly Chris my Delta is the one who brings the cake in he does something and makes a mess out of one side. On one hand I am upset that it's messed up but then this guarantees that I can get her to come out and fix it.

I go see my parents after that so they know what's going on. Once I get to their house I knock on the door. A minute later I hear mom say come in so I open the door.

"Mom, dad do you guys have a minute I need to talk to you. I have good news and strange news. Mom dad I found my mate but she is not a wolf. I don't believe she is human either. I'm not sure how to proceed with this because she didn't feel the bond like I did. I told Aunt Edith about it and she suggested I invite her to the party tonight so I did. What do you guys think? How do I do this?"

"Son I am happy you found your mate, can we meet her tonight?"

"Yes dad I would love it if you and mom can talk to her. I could use any help you can give me. I have to have her fix the cake so I will get her here. I can't wait for you to meet her."

"Oh, I'm so happy my boy has found his mate. I can't wait to meet her. I know she will be wonderful. We will work through her being human. We will also see what Edith has to say about her. When will you be going back to get her?"

"Tim and I will be going back at five. I can't wait for her to get here. She also does not know we are related to Edith and Edith wants to leave it that way."

"That's fine, but son we need to finish setting up for the party. We will do anything and everything to help you."

"Your right dad, I'm going to go finish setting up now. I will link you when we get back."

After I head back out I finish setting up for the barbeque. We pull out all four grills and set out the tables. Then I look at my watch. It's almost 4:30, so I go and take a shower then I get dressed. Once I link Tim to see if he's ready we leave.

As we pull up outside the bakery I start getting nervous. I hit the bell and as I see them come down the stairs. My heart beat picks up as I see how beautiful she is. I see Aunt Edith grab a bag and pass it to Ellen then they come outside. Tim and Aunt Edith get in the front of the car and I sit in back with Ellen. As we drive to the pack house I watch as she looks at everything. That's when I realize she has never been up here before.

Once we get to the pack house I watch as she checks everything out. I don't know if she likes it or not then I tell them about the cake issue then she goes in the kitchen with me. It's in this room that I see her eyes light up as she checks things out. Then I show her the cake. All she does is smile then she calls for Aunt Edith. They both look at the cake and start laughing. I was shocked when Edith passes the bag to Ellen. She pulls out all kinds of things, the only things I recognized were the frosting bags. But we watch as she fixes the cake then We carry it out to the table. I almost start laughing as I watch Ellen get upset at how Tim is arranging the desserts. Once I tell him to stop and ask her to take over she gives me the biggest smile and I am happy. As I watch her fix the table I have to admit it looks a lot better than how Tim had it. Shortly after that the pack started showing up. As Tim and I did the cooking Aunt Edith introduced Ellen to my family and some other people. I tried to watch and cook at the same time until I got burnt. After that I just focused on the food. Once I was done cooking I sat down at her table. We talked a bit then I asked her to dance. I was excited to be able to teach her how to dance. We got to dance for three songs then mom came over to tell me what she learned. As mom was talking to me I noticed Ellen was getting tired. So I told mom I was going to take them home.

Once we got back to the bakery I didn't want to let her go. As Aunt Edith went upstairs I grabbed her hand to hold her back. I asked her for a date and asked her if I could give her a good night kiss. I figured she would turn me down but she didn't. Then when she admitted she has wanted to kiss me all night I got so excited. I got hard just thinking about it. When I leaned in to kiss her the sparks were amazing. I wanted to go further but held back. Once I saw her go inside I left. I can't wait for our date this weekend. I need to collect all the information I can before then.
