The Council

As we sit there waiting for Mathew to come back two things come to me.

"Arya ruined my date. I want to slap her. We need to get to the bakery so I can get things done for tomorrow. And I'm starving is it possible to get something to eat?"

"Oh honey yes, do you want turkey and ham or peanut butter and jelly? Also do you want coke or dr. pepper?"

"Turkey and ham please, and Dr. pepper please."

"After you talk to the council we will go work on tomorrow's order. As far as Arya is concerned I'm sorry, but we have the party tomorrow to think about. You can use that as a date."

"I guess it's just that Mathew put a lot of thought into it and she ruined it. I feel bad because he tried so hard to do something nice and my aunt was the one that messed it up. You should have seen how excited he was when he was telling me about it. I just want to hurt her."

"Well honey forget about Arya and just focus on the party. I know she hurt your feelings but You have to move on, Mathew is upset but he is upset your day was ruined. I'm glad your thinking about each other's feeling but You both need to move on. Think of something else that You can do for him. You know we are doing a gift exchange tomorrow right. Have you found a gift for Mathew yet?"

"Oh I wanted to ask you about that. There are a few things actually, it's going to sound silly but I make quilts and blankets in my free time and I was wondering what you think he would like. I have some pictures here that I wanted to get your opinion on if that's okay."

"Oh honey I would love to help. What have you got?"

I show her ten pictures, she shows me three she knows he would like and she sees one she would like so I decide to give her that one. Then I tell her about the wrestling DVD collection I got. She thinks it's a wonderful idea. She also tells me only one gift tomorrow. So I decided to keep the blanket for Christmas. Then I ask the next question.

"Okay so how many people will be coming tomorrow? I had a thought and I asked Edith about it but we don't know how many people will be there. Also do you know if any of them have a nut allergy?"

I watch in amazement as her eyes cloud over for a minute then they clear off. Then she looks at me and says.

"We will have one hundred seventy-six people coming tomorrow and three of them have nut allergies."

"You can really talk to everyone around you without saying a word? That is so cool. So Edith are you like them?"

"Actually yes dear she is my sister. I didn't tell you because after everything you have gone through I didn't want you to leave because you think of me as a monster or something and be all alone."

"Wait so your Mathews aunt then. Why doesn't he ever call you aunt? I would never think of you as a monster. I'm the freak in the family with all of the strange things I do."

"Young lady you are not a freak. You are special just like everyone else in the pack. If you want to think that way then you fit in quite nicely."

"My dear I know it is a lot to take in today and your handling everything so well but there are things you should know. Mathew believes and so do we that the reason no one knew about your Wolf is because somewhere in your family your Wolf traits skipped a generation. Your mom and aunt was adopted and trained by a witch we don't know who their birth parents were so they could have been wolves. You call yourself a freak and that's not true, I believe your mom and aunt might have had witch genes to begin with and you inherited that. We believe your witch side is the reason you can heal and do other things. Since you lost your mom she wasn't able to explain anything or teach your about your gifts, if it's okay with you I will call a friend of mine to come help you. She is a higher ranking witch from the Starlight coven. She can test and train you so you no longer feel like a freak."

"Thank you I would like that. Couple of questions is there any way to find out about the Wolf side I seem to have? Or what group my people it comes from. And what is your name no one ever uses it."

"My name is Emily, nice to meet you. And as for your other questions there is a few blood tests they can run to learn what pack you came from. And where your abilities come from."

Before we can continue with our conversation Mathew walks in with two men. He comes over to stand by me and he introduces them to all of us.

"Mom, Edith,Ellen these are the elders from the council. This is Stan and that is Terry. They are here to discuss the attack. And everything we know about Arya. Also we tried to talk to them but you gave the command before you passed out now they can't say anything. So we need you to come down and tell them they can talk."

"Umm I don't know how I did it before or how to fix it now."

"I wish we knew your wolf's name. Maybe we could call her forward. But then again she said she wasn't supposed to emerge till tomorrow. We might have to wait till then. I'm not sure but we will try. Sweetheart please come with us."

So I go with Mathew and the council members down to the dungeon. Mathew takes me to the cell at the end. Arya looks up at us, and all I see is hate in her eyes.

"Why did you attack us? Why did you try to hurt the pack that helped you and gave you a place to stay."

When she doesn't say anything I yell at her.

"TALK TO ME DAMN IT, WHY DID YOU DO IT? WE ARE FAMILY FOR GOD SAKE."

The elders and Mathew watch me during the screaming match. they watch as I make my hands into fists and I start shaking. Then as I get up close to the bars and scream at her one more time I flatten out my hands and scream at her again.

"TALK TO ME NOW YOU BITCH. YOU RAN OUT ON YOUR FAMILY. YOU SHOW UP WANTING GOD KNOWS WHAT FROM MOM. THEN YOU THREATEN EDITH. TELL ME NOW."

Everyone staggers back a step as a blast of power leaves my body. Then she drops on the floor and starts talking.

"My Alpha lost to Jamie and we ran here. I wanted my sister to help me get my pack back. The alpha here said he wouldn't start a war for revenge so when I found out my sister was dead I wanted Edith's help but she said no. Then I saw how much you looked like your mom. I figured you should have powers to. But I couldn't get close to you. The Alpha had you under guard so we went back to Jamie I made a deal trade you for my pack back. He jumped on it, then we came here to get you I did a summoning spell to get you to come to me. But then you were fighting it so we had to come get you. Before I could get close that silver/grey Wolf showed up and took over."

"Why trade me? What did he want from me?"

"He took over my pack to get my power since I was raised a witch. He figured I could make him stronger. But when I told him my sister was a witch to and had a young daughter who is stronger than me he jumped all over it. Told me he would leave me and the pack alone if I gave him you."

"I am a living breathing person you can't just give me away like that. Edith is my family. Mathew is my mate, did you honestly think they would let you get away with this? Was it your plan to start a war with the Alpha that helped you to begin with?"

"I didn't care I just wanted my pack back. You are only good to me if I can use you to make me better. Your mom knew that that's why she told me to leave. She didn't care I was her sister she wanted me out of her life. She gave me five hundred dollars and told me to leave. After that I used her secret to continue getting money from her till I found my mate. After that I didn't need her anymore. So I forgot about her. I was going to tell Edith everything till I found out she was dead. After that I came up with a new plan."

I turn to Mathew and the elders and say.

"She is my aunt by blood but nothing more. You got your confession right. Use it how ever you want I don't want to see her again. If I must sign anything let me know, I'm done here and I'm going back to the house. Edith and I need to get back to the bakery and prep for tomorrow's party anyway."

"If we need anything Mathew can show us where you are. For now your good to go."

Mathew walks me out of the dungeon and over to Tim. Tim takes me to the house and then he takes me and Edith to the bakery.
