Chapter 3: Even a Stone Could Melt

At the café, Jiwook was waiting for Bella to arrive so he kept looking at the file he created for her to know him better. He wanted everything to go smoothly and he hopes that no one would suspect this act. He just wanted Bella to know him better so that he could expect her to go along with him if something pops out when it is not going as planned. Jiwook saw Bella walking into the café and searching for him. So, he waved at her and she smiled hugely at him. This made Jiwook's heart flutter and he became nervous suddenly.

Bella: You have been waiting for me for long?

Jiwook: No, I just arrived. What do you want to have?

Jiwook looked at the waiter and then back to Bella for her reply.

Bella: Just water...

Jiwook: For me, coffee...

The waiter nodded her head and took back the menu cards away. Jiwook took out his file and placed it in front of Bella.

Jiwook: This is my file on me. I have stated in an organized way what I like and what I don't. Have a look.

Bella smiled and took the file on the table. She flipped through the pages in the file and read carefully without any reactions on her face. She closed the file and nodded her head.

Bella: I think I should be ready by tonight. Here is mine.

Bella handed Jiwook her file and Jiwook was excited to look through it. He is usually not like this around any girls but Jiwook fell for Bella instantly when he saw her at the house.

Jiwook: I will have a look at this at home. I have to rush back to work now.

Jiwook waited for his coffee and Bella just sipped the water that the waiter brought her. When Jiwook's coffee arrived, he just took two sips from the cup and got up from his place.

Bella: So, I will call you once I am done reading through your file again. Hope you do the same for me.

Jiwook: Sure! Hope everything works out well.

Bella convinced him that everything would be good as she knows what she is doing and if he agrees to pay her in time, then everything should go well. Bella walked out of the café with Jiwook in front of her. She suddenly spotted her high schoolmate, Dianne, who use to compare everything with her and make her feel bad in the end. She quickly hid behind Jiwook but her friend saw her.

Dianne: Is that you, Bella?

Bella: Hey Dianne! How are you?

Dianne: Yeah, good! Still, come here alone?

Jiwook looked confused at first when Dianne asked Bella like that. He wanted to wait for Bella to finish her conversation with Dianne but then he thought it would be unnecessary for him to wait there. So, as he wanted to leave the place, Bella pulled Jiwook closer to her and smiled hugely at Dianne.

Bella: This is Jiwook, my boyfriend!

Dianne's face changed from a happy kid to a sulky kid's face. Dianne looked at Jiwook in confusion and shock.

Dianne: Oh, I did not know you have a boyfriend.

Jiwook froze at this and was confused at what he was supposed to say next. Bella tugged on his sleeve for some response and kept a smiling face to Dianne.

Jiwook: Nice...to meet you?

Dianne: You too. You don't look like you are a European...

Bella: That is right. He is Korean!

Dianne: Oh, from South Korea?

Bella: That is right again! We met during our work trips.

Dianne: Glad to hear this. I would love to hear more from you both but time is running out for me. I have to get back to work.

Bella: Okay, see you then!

As Bella saw Dianne walk past her and Jiwook, Bella sighed hard and looked at Jiwook. She smiled sheepishly at Jiwook and took a deep breath.

Jiwook: What is that all about by the way? Who is she?

Bella: Firstly, I am sorry for pulling you into this before we could confirm anything about us. She is my friend from high school. She used to compare everything, head to toe when it comes to me. She always has the best and she would eventually make me feel bad in the end.

Jiwook: Oh, I see. Is it alright that she knows we are a couple now?

Bella: Wha-That is why we are here right? To make people believe that we are a couple?

Jiwook: Right! I keep forgetting. I will be more alert next time.

Bella shook her head in disbelieve and walked towards the main road. Jiwook ran to her and pulled her back. Bella was shocked at this but kept a straight face.

Jiwook: Do you want me to drop you off?

Bella: I don't want to trouble you. Plus, you said you have to rush back to work.

Jiwook: I do but I can spend some time sending you. It does not matter.

Bella: I don't want to trouble you. Just go...

Jiwook: Do you want me to call your friend back here because I would if you don't get in the car now.

Bella: Okay! Fine! I will get in. Gosh, you are so demanding.

Jiwook smirked and got into the car with Bella. He knew he had to say like that so that Bella would agree to get in the car with him. Bella was all quiet in Jiwook's car as he drove to her house. Jiwook was on a call when he drove so Bella was relieved that she did not have to say anything in the car till she got down.

Bella: Thank you for dropping me! I will call you tonight.

Jiwook nodded his head with a smile on his face and his dimples showed this time. Bella noticed his dimples and her heart skipped a bit. She straightened her back and turned her back to walk back into her porch. Jiwook wanted Bella to go into the house before he left the compound so he waited for her to close the gate and lock it. He sped off to his office after Bella locked the gate of her house.

In the office, Jiwook walked into his room and sat on his chair when his secretary came in with a note. She came in with a bouquet of flowers in her hand and waited for Jiwook to take it.

Jiwook: Who was it from?

His secretary: From Melinda sir. Should I just put it in the vase?

Jiwook: Melinda? Sure! Throw the note away by the way.

His secretary: But sir, there is something she wrote that you have to see.

Jiwook: Read it out then.

His secretary: It says, "Thank you for dropping by yesterday. Meet me at 8 pm today at the Touch Club. I have something to tell you". That is all sir.

Jiwook: Throw it away now.

His secretary nodded her head and threw away the card and placed the flowers in his vase on his table. She walked out of his room and went back to her desk. Jiwook looked at his watch and looked at his laptop. He continued his work on his laptop without giving any type of reaction to his face. He got a call on his phone and he answered it without even looking at his phone screen.

Jiwook: Yeah?

Melinda: Did you get my flowers?

Jiwook: Who-What?

Jiwook looked at his screen and it was an unknown number. He looked confused but decided to answer it anyhow.

Jiwook: Melinda?

Melinda: Yeah! You did not save my number?

Jiwook: Oh, I am sorry. I will now. I got your flowers by the way. Thanks!

Melinda: Right! Don't forget at 8 pm today. I will be waiting.

Jiwook: I will try, Melinda. I will give you a call if anything.

Melinda: Please don't try. Come? I will be waiting for you.

Jiwook: I have some work now. Call me later!

Jiwook ended the call with Melinda and shuts his phone off. He was just annoyed that Melinda wanted to see him that day and he had to take care of this fast. So, he called up Hae Rae again and told him to take care of Melinda that day. Hae Rae convinced Jiwook that he would handle Melinda and that he should try to make Bella more convinced on this dating matter.

Jiwook: Just make sure she doesn't interfere with this. I will not keep quiet if something goes wrong with this plan.

Hae Rae: Just relax bro! I will handle everything.

Jiwook ended the call with Hae Rae and continued with his work on the laptop. He couldn't concentrate much on his work this time as he kept worrying about what would happen if Melinda knew about this plan with Bella. Bella would lose her job first and then Jiwook would be stuck with Melinda forever and no, he doesn't want that at all. He picked up his phone again and dialed Bella's number. Before he hit the call button, he bit his lips and thought that he was just overthinking and getting worked up for no reason. Bella knows what she was doing so Jiwook now has to rely on Bella on this and have full trust in her. He placed his phone down and looked outside his window. From where he was, he could see the whole city from above and he admired the view as he looked at how people on the street were so carefree and happy with their life.

His secretary: Sir, you have a meeting now.

Jiwook turned around to see his secretary with his meeting files in her hands waiting for him to follow her to the meeting room.

Jiwook: Our partners are all here yet?

His secretary: Yes, sir and they are waiting for you.

Jiwook nodded his head and grabbed his suit on his chair and walked out from his room with her. He adjusted his tie as he walked but was stopped by his secretary.

His secretary: This is the reason why you need a P.A for this. Look how you are struggling to be neat?

His secretary adjusted his tie as she spoke with him outside the meeting room. Jiwook smiled at her and waited for her to adjust his tie properly.

Jiwook: I still think otherwise. I don't want to rely on anyone. It is better I do my work myself.

His secretary smiled and sighed hard at his stubbornness. She couldn't do anything for him if he doesn't want to help himself. She could only tell him what he needed but it was up to him to execute it. Jiwook and his secretary entered the meeting room and were greeted by their partners in the room. They discussed how should they increase the percentage of their rate online and also in the public as JCB company would be taking over their company soon. Jiwook convinced and assured them that JCB company would not be able to buy over the company if they do something big to raise some funds.

His secretary: What about a campaign? A campaign of new building space and what they would benefit from this?

Jiwook: Good idea! Can we afford the cost that we would be putting in for this event?

His secretary: We will make it sir. We will make it to the next level.

Jiwook: Okay then! Let's get to work and let's fight against the JCB company. Fighting!

Everyone was eager to start the campaign as to how Jiwook's secretary have suggested and they were willing to put in all their efforts and energy to save their company from falling into the wrong hands.

Jiwook: Cancel all my other meetings for the day. I will update them myself with emails.

Jiwook told his secretary: as he walked into his room and sat. His secretary nodded her head and walked back to her desk. Jiwook took his bag and walked out of his room as he looked at his secretary.

Jiwook: I will be heading home first. If anything, call me.

His secretary: Yes sir!

Jiwook walked to the elevator and entered it as he pressed the button to the ground floor. He walked out of the elevator and opened his car door. He sat in it and started his engine and waited for a while.

Jiwook's mind: Should I pay a visit to Bella's house before heading home? Will it be too weird to do this?

Jiwook thought it was a bad idea to just drop by Bella's house suddenly like that so he headed straight home. He totally forgot about Melinda and that she would be waiting for him at the Touch Club at 8 pm that day.
