Chapter 10: Meeting The Dad

Jiwook saw Bella rushing towards him in the waiting room. Bella saw that Jiwook was shedding tears of worry as he looked at her. He got up and held her hands for support.

Bella: I heard about your dad. How is he now?

Jiwook: he is being treated inside. The doctor hasn't come out yet.

Bella: Don't worry, he will be fine. DO you want some coffee or something to drink?

Jiwook: No, I don't. I just want my dad to be okay.

Bella looked at Jiwook and calmed him down to sit on the sofa in the waiting room. She walked towards the vending machine and bought a cup of hot coffee for Jiwook. She walked back to him and handed him the cup. Jiwook took the cup and sipped the hot drink as Bella sat beside him. Hae Rae came into the waiting room and approached Jiwook.

Hae Rae: How is dad? Is he okay?

Jiwook: After you left, dad went unconscious and he wasn't opening his eyes. The doctors haven't come out yet with the results.

Hae Rae: Okay, so do you know when the doctor will come out?

Jiwook: I am not sure. I am still waiting for the results.

Bella: Don't worry too much. I am sure he will be fine.

Hae Rae: I don't know why you have to bring her everywhere. You realize that this is just acting right?

Bella: Why do you feel threatened now? Do you know something that I know about?

Hae Rae: What do you mean?

Bella: Oh, so you want to play fake here. The pregnant-

Hae Rae: Ah, okay! The only person who is faking anything would be you. Stop screwing with Jiwook and just do as you are asked to.

Jiwook: Hae Rae! Stop it, will you?! This is not the time or the place to talk about this. She is here for me, not for you!

Bela: I am leaving. You have Hae Rae now. Well, he is right. I am just faking everything. This is just an act.

Jiwook: Bella-

Hae Rae: Let her go, Jiwook! She is just a distraction to you. We don't need her to be here. This is only family included.

Bella: I am sorry for intruding here. I am leaving now.

Jiwook: No, wait-Bella!

Hae Rae pulled Jiwook back to him in the waiting room as Bella walked out from the waiting room. She was upset that Hae Rae acted so mean and rude in the waiting room. She was there for Jiwook genuinely and Hae Rae could just assume that she was acting.

Jiwook: What is wrong with you again?! Why did you say such things?!

Hae Rae: To hurt her. She has to know her place. She came for just acting so she can't just get involved in family matters.

Jiwook: So, you wanted to hurt her. Like she said, are you threatened by her or something?

Hae Rae: Threatened by her? Why so?

Jiwook: Then why do you want to hurt her so badly?

Hae Rae: I just think she is a distraction to you when it comes to family matters. She was supposed to help you out as your fake girlfriend and not act like a real one.

Jiwook: What if I want her to be my real girlfriend?

Hae Rae: You in love with her or something? Are you sick?

Jiwook: You don't decide for me, Hae Rae! Why did you introduce her to me then in the first place?

Hae Rae: I thought she would just help you out and not get involved in any of our family issues. But you brought her to the family dinner party? Crazy?

Jiwook: Dad wanted to see her! He asked me if I could bring her.

Hae Rae: You could have told him that she was busy or out-stationed or something?

Jiwook: What is wrong with you? I don't get you sometimes!

Hae Rae: Look, when it comes to family issues, don't involve Bella. That's it!

Jiwook shook his head in disbelieve and looked at Hae Rae in the room. Suddenly, the room door slided open and both of them looked at the door.

Melinda: Jiwook, I heard that your dad is not well. Are you okay?

Jiwook looked at Hae Rae who was already smirking at Jiwook. Hae Rae called Melinda to visit Jiwook in the hospital.

Hae Rae: I will leave you two alone now.

Jiwook: Wait, what! Hae Rae-

Melinda: It is okay. I need to speak with you alone too.

Jiwook: Me? What about?

Hae Rae walked out of the room and closed the door back. He was smiling his way as he walked to the car park. Now, Hae Rae's plan is starting to work and now he has to completely eliminate Bella from Jiwook's mind.

Melinda: I heard you hired some girl to be your girlfriend and now she is trying to control you?

Jiwook: Who said that? Nothing such...

Melinda: Don't have to hide anything from me. I know everything now.

Jiwook: Look here, I don't know what Hae Rae has said to you that you think that I am being controlled. I just want to say that I hope that you don't get involved in my or my personal life anymore.

Melinda: Jiwook, I was just trying to help here. Why are you so mean to me? Did I do something wrong?

Jiwook: Nothing. It is me. So, just leave, will you? Thanks for coming.

Melinda: Look here, just let me help you get out of this sticky situation. I can act as your girlfriend, so, just let her go.

Jiwook: Didn't I tell you to leave yet? Why are you still here?

Melinda was shocked at Jiwook's reaction but she did not give up in convincing him to et Bella go and to take Bella's place instead.

Jiwook: Melinda, I will be direct with you. I don't like you and it is because of you I hired Bella to act as my girlfriend. So, please!

Melinda: Are you saying you were avoiding me all this while because you don't like me and the marriage contract?

Jiwook nodded his head and looked at Melinda with his stern face. He bit his inner cheeks hard and walked towards the window for some fresh air.

Jiwook: I don't want to hurt you anymore. So, just leave before you get hurt more. It will never work between us, Melinda.

Melinda: I will see to that. I want to see how long you will go with this loving act with this girl.

Jiwook: Don't try anything here. We had a deal so I am sure we won't break it.

Melinda smirked at Jiwook and turned around to open the door when she turned back to Jiwook.

Melinda: I know who is she and I know what to do now.

Jiwook: Melinda...! Melinda! Wait-

Jiwook ran after Melinda in the hospital only to be stopped by his dad's doctor. The doctor told Jiwook that his dad had a mild attack and if his dad gets this attack again, his health is at risk. Jiwook learned that his dad is doing fine in the ICU and would be transferred to the normal ward the next day. Jiwook looked through the glass window of the ICU ward where his dad was lying there on the bed.
