Karate Island #27

Tristan spoke in an innocent tone of voice. "I am glad to be able to win, I am Tristan and am also from the White Storm group. Though I cannot exactly say that winning this was a dream of mine since it is just a secondary pursuit of mine. Boxing is more like... a hobby I guess?"

"Pfft!" Suddenly many people spat out their drinks and began to cough uncontrollably after hearing what she had said.

Many eyes were cast upon her body filled with numerous emotions like jealousy, rage, bewilderment and some looked towards Jerry who lay there with eyes full of pity and sorrow.

A young sixteen year old girl had defeated a 43 year old man who was destined to win the championship and claimed that she only took up boxing as a hobby, in many peoples eyes she was like one of those arrogant people who showed up and practiced a sport for a short time only to surpass most geniuses.

They could not deny that Tristan had not put in efforts to reach her current strength and skill but it was still a little insulting to hear for many others who had spent more than twenty years training and gaining experience.

The male announcer coughed clearing his throat and then asked helplessly. "Then... what is your main goal?"

Tristan raised her head proudly. "I am to be a highly capable doctor. I am working on many types of medicine and other medical tools to help many people with disabilities. Once they are completed, they will be sold through the White Storm group."

The male announcer nodded. "Hmm.. I see. Well if your abilities are much better in medicine than boxing, I look forward to seeing the good you can bring to the world."

Tristan smiled as she bowed and stepped off the stage.

Alyssia was counting the berries won from the bet that she had made and silently thought to herself. 'Now that Jerry has lost, it will not be long until he leaves and returns to Cypher Pol. Soon he would be assigned a new task and show up again on the Sea Train as an agent who is now the runner up in the boxing championship instead of the winner.'

The story would not be changed all that much according to her guesses but she had still made a large amount of berries and fame points from Tristan's win.

She shook her head slightly with a small smile on her face. 'Everyone must have been truly shocked and enraged after what Tristan said... though what she said was completely true.'

Although Tristan was one of the 'big three' of the crew, her main pursuit was medicine and it took up a lot of her time which sometimes made her unable to focus solely on training unlike Carrot.

Carrot had surpassed her a little as they grew up together and reached their current stage because she had more free time to train and focus on other things to improve her fighting prowess, meanwhile Alyssia possessed her monstrous talents provided by the system along with the talents bonus effects upon reaching a certain mastery.

Even when she was busy with research, she still set aside time to train her body, rest and keep herself fed which kept her far ahead of the others in terms of pure physical strength and combat abilities.

However for people like Jerry and many others who possessed talent but also had put in a lot of hard work, Tristan's innocent words may have come off as mocking or insulting to the efforts that they had put in.

In the end it was just the result of many years of training and guidance from Alyssia along with the Minks natural fighting abilities and instincts that had gotten Tristan this far to claim the boxing champion position.

Two female champions had emerged in the same year of the Karate Island's martial arts championship and both had emerged from the White Storm group.

Two of the champions were decided but there were still five more final rounds to begin.

Shortly afterwards, the Sumo and Jujitsu finals started and ended quickly with the crowd cheering while Alyssia continued to collect her berries from her bets. 'If this keeps going... I may end up bankrupting them.. aha. However they must have made more than enough with the ticket sales so nothing to worry about.'
