New Project

Ein turned to Alyssia and asked. "Will these be enough?"

Alyssia smiled in response. "You guys went above and beyond for this. Although there is one major problem that needs to still be overcome."

Ein narrowed her eyes before adjusting the glasses on her face. "What is it?"

Alyssia calmly responded. "These things cannot be made to be remotely piloted by others or be put under the control of the average Automata that you are used to building. You are lucky that my area of expertise happens to be in programming."

The inventions in the designs were excellent in theory and could be a great help in many ways but there was one major problem that came with them.

If they were not managed well then they could just as easily be turned into a weapon.

The designs had been primarily to have an Automata as the base to let the Automata be able to handle most of the problems and venture inside of the affected areas.

They could collect samples and leave safely which would allow for various chemical weapons and other outbreaks to be collected and studied without having anyone having to put themselves at risk to do that.

Those were not so dangerous in theory but if they could store certain things, they could be controlled to release them too afterwards.

It would be quite easy for them to be used to disperse dangerous things into areas so that was a major problem that needed to be overcome.

The usage of them needed to be managed since the potential of it being misused could become catastrophic for many.

As a product, it could not be sold but having it used in a location could be purchased so there was value in it as a product.

There would be a need for such a thing so it was not a worthless investment of their time and resources.

It could be said that several locations needed the use of such an invention even more.

The next problem was who was supposed to take control of it.

Alyssia could not trust in such a thing being under the control of one of her fellow humans so a remote control method could not be used.

There were other issues which included the possibility of someone figuring out how to hack the control method too.

The only thing that Ash could think of was making use of the Automata designs to allow them to carry out everything.

They had a degree of human emotions upon learning them when they were created and were usually quite loyal to their creators or those they were considered close to.

They had a mix of mechanized artificial intelligence mixed with traces of humanity so they could be considered as good or bad candidates to operate such a thing.

The main problem was related to who they learned from and their programming.

It could be said that the Pacifista had quite a good design when it came to their purpose and such but there could be a wide variety of problems that could occur at times.

It was the same for the Automata so Alyssia needed to put to use everything she learned during the creation of Val and her time on Egghead Island to help build that programming framework that would prevent future problems.

Just as the Pacifista was programmed to capture criminals and uphold laws or how Val had been built to embody the characteristics of a Valkyrie and a shieldmaiden, the invention would have to be built with a clear purpose and directive that they lived by.

That objective would be related to the surveying, study and collection of things while some would have distribution purposes too they would never unleash harmful things into areas or have any purposes related to being purposed for war or something similar.

So long as they had various programming and directives in place, they would not be able to do harm and go outside of the purpose that they were built for.

There were always chances that loopholes in the programming could appear or a fault could appear too so it needed Alyssia to work on the programming personally to make it as perfect as possible before it would be turned on and put to use.

What needed to be prevented most was the chances of there ever being an event that could be similar to the movie Terminator or something similar.

There were always pros and cons when humans were dealing with things but it was the same when it came to mechanized beings too.

If there was one thing that was a big difference between something like a Terminator and an Automata then it was that an Automata was able to learn emotions and empathize with humans so they were able to gain more of a connection to them.

Their every action and calculation would be affected by the connections they made and the things they learned from each experience so they would think twice before taking a severe path of action that would lead to the targeting of humanity as an entire species.

Even if that was not enough to keep them from taking such a path, the programming ingrained into them would help to keep them in check and away from such a path.

Ein nodded in response while pointing to the others. "These blueprints are mainly related to the collecting and distribution of certain substances. As you can see... this one can collect a high amount and draw them in toward it.

This one here is more suited to distribution over a wide radius. These here are mainly more suited toward other purposes like surveying and collecting data. These are more suited to gathering... as for these, they are more suited to delivering various goods."

Alyssia smiled in response. "I like the last one. It would be quite cool to have a delivery service that can deliver things by air rather than sea. We could gain quite the monopoly over that if used correctly."

Nica watched quietly from the side before speaking up. "So was this all about making more berries again?"

She was a little suspicious about the motive of Alyssia and why they had to work together on the project together.

As one of the more introverted members of the crew, Nica preferred it better to work alone but she was made to work in a team once again and share ideas with the others to develop something new.

It could be said that she had made many contributions to the designs and she learned a lot too but she still found that Alyssia had mainly taken a backseat when it came to the overall involvement she had in it all.

It was like Alyssia had come in at the end of it, put in her finishing touches then began thinking of ways to use it to make a fortune like usual.

It was a little funny to see everything play out and to have such a thing happen suddenly from the perspective of Nica but she had already grown used to how Alyssia did things.

She already knew that Alyssia would have been able to achieve all of it on her own and probably in a smaller timeframe too if she wanted to.

If there was one thing that was realistic about how Alyssia did things that made Nica respect her then it was how she was able to look toward the future and see how certain things could be used or how things could play out.

For every experiment that was to be done, there needed to be more funds and resources to be put to use.
