Doctor

"What?" Eclipse asked, playing with the bedspreads as he stared at this strange person with a hat that obscures most of his face as well as hair and a coat that covers the rest of his body.

He can hardly make anything about this person and it is putting all his senses on overdrive … for some reason. Instead of relying on his eyes, his body started relying on his nose and ears as well as all his other senses instead.

From the tone of his voice, he is able to get a good make of the man's age and by the little glimpses of the man he sees, he is able to piece everything together to form a face in his mind.

Once his mind allowed him to form that proper figure, face and age of the man in front of him, he immediately relaxed, finally able to listen to the conversation happening in front of him along with the weight of what the man just said.

"Please say that again. I didn't quite understand." He said pleasantly, much to the surprise of everyone around him.

"Have you not been listening, kid?" Aseko asked, tilting his head to the side as he stared at this strange person in front of him. "I thought you were."

"I apologise, I was busy trying to figure his face out." Eclipse said, waving his hands at the man.

"Oh? Have you been able to then?" The man asked, looking at him, amused.

"Yup." Eclipse said happily, like he just discovered something incredible. "I can tell what you look like now."

"May I test that?" The man looked at Aseko simple just shrugged at him.

"You can try."

"Wonderful." The man said, turning to Eclipse, holding his hand out. "Think you can project my face in your mind to mine?"

"I can do that?" Eclipse asked, tilting his head to the side.

"Of course. You just have to imagine it and then show it to me."

How am I supposed to do that? Eclipse thought before just following the man's instruction as he projected the man's face from his mind out to him.

How did I even do that? He stared at his hands, eyes wide before turning to look at Karr who is not moving the moment he saw the face Eclipse projected.

"Is that right?" Eclipse asked, though it is not entirely a question as it is a confirmation.

He knows that he is right. Karr thought, grinning at him as he finally took his hat off. "What do you think?"

His chestnut, curly brown hair and deep brown eyes seemed to come to life when compared to Eclipse's projection of his mind.

"I suppose I am not bad at guessing." Eclipse said, playing with wisps of his hair falling over his shoulder. "Why do you cover it anyway?"

"Because … well, that is not anything important, kid." He patted the man's head like a child's. "Though, I would like it if you remembered my face."

"I have not been very good at remembering things these days. But I will try." Eclipse said, determination written all over his face. "By the way, what is your name?"

"Right, we have not introduced ourselves have we?" He got to his feet, and shook the man's hands. "Hello, I am Dr. Karr. You can just call me Karr. I have been working with the boss ever since we were both children. I was in the Great War of HaIt too. It is a pleasure to meet you."

"It is pleasure to meet you too, Karr. I am Eclipse. I don't know anything about myself because … the boss here is the one that picked me up from the side of the road."

"Amnesia, I see." The doctor said, sitting back down as he looked at the man's chest. "Well, it could have been because of this curse. Do you know where you got it from?"

"No."

"Expected." He said, tapping his chin. "Well, there seems to be a lot of pieces missing and without most of your memories … we are not going to be able to find anything out."

"I see." Eclipse said, nodding. "I do not have a proper idea of what is going on too … and there does not seem to be anyone that knows me."

"No one here knows you?" Karr asked, turning to look at Aseko sitting on his chair, leaning back. "What does he mean, boss? I did not know that you were all looking for his family or someone that knows him."

"We are not doing anything like that," Aseko said, looking up at the man with a very lazy expression on his face. "We cannot afford for others outside of the people here to find out about his existence."

"His existence? I don't understand. Is his existence something to be kept hidden? Is he a fugitive?"

"No, it is nothing like that, Karr," Aseko said, pressing the back of his neck, a sigh escaping his lips. "It's just that … we searched everything we could and did not find a single thing related to him. Nowhere in our database exists Eclipse.

"So, there is one of two things that could be happening here. One is that he might be part of another group from another country or … something like that. Because, I am sure you remember what happened a couple of days ago."

"The conference with the foreign ambassadors?" Karr asked, turning to Eclipse who just shrugged.

"Yes. He might be with some of them." Aseko said, tapping on the armrest of the chair. "But I doubt he is the main group because they are sure to be looking for him.

"That brings me to my second conclusion. Is that he is someone that might have escaped a group here. Perhaps the Westroth group."

Aseko is insinuating something here. Eclipse thought, looking at the man's facial expression.

"That is a high accusation, Boss," Karr said, an excited smile coming on his face. "You know that things like keeping slaves or … well anything like that is not allowed here and you are accusing one of the groups that signed that law of doing just that."

"They are not what they were years ago," Aseko said, waving his hands dismissively. "Anyway, that group is really the only one that will be able to put that type of curse on anyone, from what we know."

"Well, you are not wrong," Karr said, turning to Eclipse. "But why do you think he is being kept hidden?"

"He is something incredible, Karr," Aseko said, looking him in the eyes. "I know that you have not seen it before but … I have and it is amazing the things he can do."

"What can he do?"

Aseko turned to Eclipse, "You already saw how fast his mind works and how precise it is. His healing abilities are no joke either and he is … well … he has plenty of impressive traits that I cannot even mention."

"For you to praise someone this much. That is making me a lot more curious about him than anything else you have said, boss." He said, looking at the mark on Eclipse's chest once again. "Would you mind if I took a sample of your blood, Eclipse?"

"I don't think that would be a problem." Eclipse said, holding his arm out as Karr placed his hand on his arm, pinching the skin until it broke, watching the red blood spill down his arm.

But, before more than a drop could fall down, the wound healed up and the blood disappeared, much to Karr's surprise and the impressive look on his face.

"You were not joking about his healing abilities, boss." He said, looking at the part he tore the skin from, not seeing a single mark on it. "Very, very impressive. I don't think I will be able to collect his blood."

"Why is that?"

"Because his blood is not the type to be able to survive for long outside of his body." He said, pointing to the trail that the blood followed, leaving only a faint line as though nothing happened seconds ago. "Perhaps there is something in his blood that allows him to be able to heal as fast as he does."

"But you cannot collect it, can you?"

"Nope." He said, shaking his head. "But … perhaps a taste will not hurt."

Reaching into his bag, he pulled out a jar of some rat-like creatures squirming inside. "You might want to clench your teeth, kid. This one will definitely hurt."

"What is that, Karr?" Aseko asked, looking at the creatures as Eclipse felt his breath stuck to his throat the moment he saw them.

"These are simple creatures I can use to extract his blood and keep it stored in them so that I can observe it later on," Karr said, unscrewing the lid while Eclipse suddenly moved away from him, eyes turning violet, baring his fangs on the person in front of him.

"Get that away from me."
