Chapter 54

Hsien Lian really didn't think he was going to get yelled at as much as he did. He didn't expect to get yelled at right when he left the Human Realm. But there Tao Wu was, ready to yell at Hsien Lian. To do more than yell.

"God Tao WU, before you say anything. Can I explain?" Hsien Lian was not going to get out of this. He wasn't. THere wasn't any way he could. But he still tried. You can't just accept death. Tao Wu stared at Hsien Lian for a moment, before sighing. "Fine. But you are on a thin string." Tao WU threatens, before sitting back in his throne.

"Ok, well I got what you wanted. The ghost," Hsien Lian, made sure to not call him XingYing. That was a name for him, but it was a name that only Hsien Lian called the other. Well, Hsien Lian could be more creative with the name. Ge Ge, maybe. But, calling XingYing nicknames like Ge ge shouldn't be his main priority right now.

"He, well….. I observed him for a year. Practically studied him. He really only does things for the good or others. Honestly Tao Wu, he's very….." Selfless. That's what Hsien Lian had learned over the years. XingYing is selfless. Hsien Lian sighs. "He cares about others, rarely does he care about himself. He's not doing anything near bad." Hsien Lian answered.

Tao Wu didn't seem convinced, but he sighed, looking behind Hsien Lian. "Fang Hai? Chen Guo? Do you agree?" Tao Wu asked, rubbing his forehead. Hsien Lian turned his head, looking at the two. He didn't giving them a begging stare, nor a harsh one. If they were true and honest, as Hsien Lian has known them to be, they would both do the right thing.

"Well, I can't really say why he did what he did, but Hsien Lian isn't wrong. He didn't hurt anyone but once. And that was because the man was threatening Hsien Lian. We watched him closely." Fang Hai assured me. Hsien Lian smiled slightly. Chen Guo nodded. "Really, he's a good guy." Chen Guo stated.

Tau Wu slowly nodded, turning back to Hsien Lian. "Still, what you did was unexceptable. You knew he was dangerous, and you should have been careful. Shouldn't have let him get too close to you. He can manipulate you in a way you couldn't imagine. How much does he know?" Tao Wu asked, crossing his hands over his chest.

Jing Mei sighs as she walks in, seeing Hsien Lian, knowing he was supposed to arrive back in Heaven any day. She smiles when she sees him. Hsien Lian waves silently, Jing Mei waving back. "Um, well he knew I was a god. But that wasn't something I could control much. He knows my name, knows what I'm the god of-"

Jing Mei stopped him. "Did you tell him these things, or did he find out on his own?" Jing Mei asked, seemingly knowing what had happened before she was there. XingYing knew a lot about Hsien Lian. He didn't know everything, but he knew a lot. "Um, mostly he found out." Hsien Lian answers.

Tao Wu sighs a breath of frustration, nodding slowly. He expected Tao Wu to yell at him. To scold him more, tell him how stubid of a decision Hsien Lian had made earlier, but he didn't. The entire room was quiet, waiting for what the King Of The Gods would say. "Hsien Lian, I have a feeling that this is going to backfire terribly. I hope not, I honestly do. But, now I'm worried."

Hsien Lian lowered his head guiltily. Jing Mei sighed as Tao Wu excited, leaving only the Queen Of The Gods to handle the situation further. "Hsien Lian, nothing bad will happen. He can't even come here." Jing Mei slowly lifted Hsien Lian's head, smiling warmly at the young god. "You did good." She smiled. Hsien Lian was still hesitant, but he nodded.

Jing Mei smiled before standing back up straight, standing up. "I will talk to Tao Wu and Chao Ju. You should go back to your kingdom." Jing Mei advises, smiling once at Fang Hai and Chen Guo before stepping out. Chen Guo sighed, patting Hsien Lian's shoulder. "I thought that was it for you." Chen Guo laughed quietly.

Fang hai rolled his eyes, beginning to walk out of the main hall. Hsien Lian quickly followed him, with Chen Guo the last in the line. "Oh come on. You think everything is the end." Fang Hai countered, shaking his head dramatically. Chen Guo flicked out his bronze fan, hitting Fang Hai on the head. "Honestly, I thought Tao Wu was going to revoke your Melee God citizenship card." Chen Guo jokes. Hsien Lian shook his head. "He didn't, which is good."

"He wouldn't have. He shouldn't have. Just because you were routing for a ghost doesn't mean he automatically should lower your status. You would need to betray Heaven. You didn't do that." Fang Hai explained. Hsien Lian hummed, stepping into his kingdom. He turns around to face Fang Hai and Chen Guo. "You don't have to walk me here. I know where I'm going." Hsien Lian smiled. CHen Guo nodded, beginning to walk away. But Fang Hai grabbed his shoulder. "You do. But we are now your god parents, so we will take care of you." Fang Hai smiled.

Chen Guo scoffed, shaking his head. "No, we are his god siblings. No way I am going to be that old. Tao Wu and Jing Mei can be his parents." Chen Guo sighed. Hsien Lian looked at the two with an odd expression. "Uh-huh, whatever you say. I'm gonna.." Hsien Lian gestured to the inside of the kingdom. Fang Hai rolled his eyes, waving, before walking away Chen Guo did the same.

Hsien Lian sighed, reaching behind his head to tighten his ponytail, before beginning to walk. At first, he didn't see anyone, but soon he saw a young boy walking around. An older girl ran after him. When she saw Hsien Lian, she quickly bowed, before continuing to run. Hsien Lian smiled before continuing to walk. He walked to his room, sliding open the door.

Hsien Lian sighed, shutting the door behind him. He scanned his room. It was still clean, exactly how he left it. Hsien Lian smiled softly at the familiar room, before going straight to his bed. He flopped onto a bed, face first into his pillow. He sighed happily, his eyes fluttering shut. He hadn't expected to be so tired, yet there he was, drifting to sleep.

Suddenly, his door slammed open. Hsien Lian quickly looked up at the loud sound, seeing Chen Guo standing in the doorway. His face was pale. Him out of breath. "The capital of Wuhan was burned to the ground." Chen Guo yelled, Hsien Lian's eyes widened. He sat up. "The capital? Wha- how did that happen?" Hsien Lian asked, slowly standing from his seat. He wasn't shocked Chen Guo knew he was the God Of The East.

"Because your ghost friend burned it down."
