Chapter 55

Hsien Lian froze, staring at Chen Guo. "He… burned it down?" Hsien Lian asked shakily. Chen Guo stared at him for a moment, before sighing "Let's go. There's a meeting." Chen Guo said, before stepping out. Hsien Lian continued to sit down, not exactly doing anything. He sat there, thinking.

Did people die? XingYing wouldn't have done that. He promised Hsien Lian that he wouldn't do something like that. He promised Hsien Lian that he wouldn't hurt anyone. Wouldn't kill anyone. But when he burned down the capital of Wuhan, someone had to have gotten hurt. Why would he even do that?" Hsien Lian sighed, slowly standing.

There was no way that it could be XingYing.

Hsien Lian stood, stepping out of his room. He was quick to bolt out of his own kingdom. He ran as fast as he could to the main hall. It was close, but still. Hsien Lian ran as fast as his legs could take him. He quickly pushed the door to the main hall open. Tao Wu, Chao Ju, and Jing Mei sat at the table. Nine of the top Melee Gods are also sitting at the chair. Hsien Lian being the last one.

Hsien Lian didn't sit down in the chair.

"What happened?" Hsien Lian asked. No one answered him. Tao Wu gestured to an empty seat. "Let's talk calmly and civilly." Tao Wu says calmly, laying his hands back down. Hsien Lian sighed, slowly sitting down. He placed his hands on the table. "What happened." Hsien Lian asked again, this time much calmer. Fang hai's face was straight. His mouth is a line. However, before he could speak, Chen Guo did.

"Ning Huo had gone to Wuhan for some reason. And he burned down the entire capital, leaving only the farms and a couple of houses." Chen Guo explained. "One of my Nobles saw him. She said that he was there. No other ghost would be able to burn an entire capital by themselves." Hsien Lian was quiet, laid back in his chair. He was simply listening. That was all he had been doing. Just sitting, listening.

Well, he was also trying to understand why in the word XingYing would burn down Wuhan. That doesn't make sense to Hsien Lian. Maybe Hsien Lian didn't actually know ingYing like he thought. Hsien Lian looked at Chen Guo confused. "What are you talking about? Whose Ning Huo?" Hsien Lian asked. Chao Ju looked up. "Ning Huo? That's the ghost's name. His name is Ning Huo."

Hsien Lian slowly nodded. "Ning Hou….. oh." He whispered. Ning Huo. It was always XingYing for him. But that wasn't his name. XingYing was made by Hsien Lian, he made that name. Guess XingYing didn't trust him enough. That' probably why Hsien ian didn't know anything about him.

Chao Ju sighed, looking up at Tao Wu. "What do we do now? We have to kill him. It's obvious that he's a danger to humans. Hsien Lian obviously lied about Ning Huo." hao Ju said. Fang Hai looked up, alert. "No he didn't. Because that would mean all of us did. Chao Ju, remember who was actually on the field, vs who wasn't." Fang Hai glared defensively. Hsien Lian looked up.

Chao Ju turned to Fang Hai, shaking his head. "Respect Fang Hai. Remember who you're talking to." Chao Ju voices, before turning to Hsien Lian. "You spent a year with Ning Huo. Doing nothing but what, hanging out with him. It's obvious you're fond of him. Maybe a little too much-'' Jing Mei grabbed Chao Ju's shoulder, pulling him back. "Enough, he didn't do anything wrong." Jing Mei says, as Tao Wu scans the room.

"Well, Ning Huo can fool the strongest. He probably put on some persona to trick Hsien Lian. Our problem is what we do with him now." Tao Wu looks over at Jing Mei, nodding. "Yes, we need….. We need to kill him." Tao Wu whispers. Hsien Lian looked up, but before he could say anything, Tao Wu raised a hand. "Hsien Lian, something that is true, you are obviously fond of Ning Huo. But it seems he doesn't care about you as much as you acted. He wouldn't have done it otherwise." Tao Wu reasons, lowering his hand.

Hsien Lian sighed, sitting back once again. He didn't say anything, only quietly nodding and looking down. Tao Wu was right. Ning Huo wouldn't have done that if he didn't care. So, Ning Huo must not have cared. So why should Hsien Lian? "What if we push him into Realm's Edge? Even the most powerful won't escape." Chao Ju reasons. "But we'll need someone to lead him there." Hsien Lian looked up, raising his hand.

"I'll go."
