3. Arranged marriage

"You want to get married? hahaha ..." laughter immediately boomed when Aaron delivered his statement that he wanted to get married. "Who would want to marry a blind man like you," sneered the Eagle half laughing.

The atmosphere around Aaron was cold when he heard what his stepbrother said. Some of his stepsisters fell silent when they saw the cold look on his face, but not with the Eagle.

The room was silent full of laughter, the man felt funny with what Nature had just said even he couldn't hold back his laughter.

"Can you not be noisy, it's very annoying," said Nature coldly making the Eagle stop laughing.

"You..." Eagle growled, he didn't like Nature's condescending attitude.

The eagle crossed his arms, his face showing annoyance at Nature. Even though the man was blind he was able to silence him and he hated it.

"He's your brother, can't you appreciate him?" his father asked.

Aaron raised an eyebrow raised to look at his father. "Why should I respect them after what they did to me three years ago,"

"Don't accuse me without evidence."

The incident three years ago made an impression on Nature's mind, especially when she lost her sight. His half-brother is the main suspect of what happened, being the heir to the company is their wish.

"Proof?" asked Aaron, frowning. He was so annoyed when he wanted to reveal that what happened to him had been planned but he had no evidence.

"See, you don't even have proof and you accuse us of doing it," the Eagle exclaimed.

His half-brother was so annoying, always insulted him all the time, and wanted to get the heir seat, but he didn't deserve it because he was so passionate about it.

"El, you better shut up," Tristan scolded his son, he showed a serious face making everyone in the same room with him silent.

"Do you have a boyfriend, Aaron?" his father asked.

"Not,"

Suddenly the Eagle laughed again. "Want to get married but don't even have a boyfriend, hahaha ... besides who wants to marry a blind man like you,"

"Eagle, no one told you to speak up," Tristan rebuked.

The look on the middle-aged man's face looked at Nature who was sitting in front of him. As a father, he could see the seriousness of what his son said. However, he doesn't want to take the risk of his son marrying the wrong woman. They will lose.

"Do you have someone you like?" Tristan asked.

"Yes,"

"Is that true? Who's he?" Tristan asked curiously.

Nature was silent for a moment making everyone curious who the girl he wanted to marry was. They know, when he went blind his lover left and never had a relationship with anyone again.

All eyes were on Emily who was sitting beside his father—Jordan. Thin lips polished with pink lipstick, and a silver dress with cleavage, flowing hair, and her beautiful face can hypnotize Aaron's half-sisters.

"This is my daughter, Emily," Jordan called out introducing his daughter.

The atmosphere was very awkward for Emily, it made him puff out his cheeks and pursed his lips, for a moment he saw some mischievous gazes on him. It made him want to leave immediately.

In front of him, a Nature was sitting in a gray suit and sunglasses even though it was nighttime, a gray coat wrapped around his athletic body. Emily looked at Nature making the woman immediately look away, she remembered the embarrassing incident while carrying out the mission.

Remembering what happened two days ago frustrated him when Jordan said he was going to marry a blind man. Even marriage was never thought of at all. I don't know if this is a joke or a problem for him.

"We should set a date for their wedding soon, the sooner the better, right?" Tristan asked suddenly surprising Emily.

"W-the wedding date?" Emily stammered. "I haven't answered whether I agree or not," he said again.

Everyone looked at Emily, while Tristan's father Aaron looked at his old friend.

"I leave this decision to my daughter," Jordan said.

"Jordan," Tristan's voice rose, causing Emily who saw this to change his face.

"Sorry Tris, I just want my son to be happy,"

Tristan looked at Emily who was sitting leisurely. The man expected an answer from the beautiful-looking woman.

"I refuse this marriage," Emily said casually.

Suddenly, Aaron's brother laughed at the sound of the voice. Disrespectful, and the first time Emily saw contempt for the man was Aaron clenching his fists, there was emotion showing on his face, it was just he was trying not to be seen.

"Is it because my son is blind?" Tristan asked, glaring at Emily.

"This woman doesn't want to marry him because she's blind, who would marry a man who can't see," sneered the Eagle pointing at Emily.

Emily couldn't stand to hear all the insults from the man in front of him got up from his seat and then slapped the Eagle making everyone dumbfounded while the man he slapped could only wipe his face and stare disapprovingly in front of Emily.

"You slapped me?" asked the Eagle. "You bitch," he growled. The man immediately wanted to slap Emily but the woman who wanted to slap him avoided making the Eagle suddenly fall, causing Emily's adopted brother to laugh at him.

Without feeling guilty, Emily chose to stand back while the Eagle was getting more and more annoyed. Emily's gaze was cold.

"You don't deserve to be talking here and what you're saying isn't classy at all," Emily said coldly that made Aaron smile faintly when Emily glanced at him.

"You …."

"Eagle, shut up," Tristan snapped at his eldest son, he was also annoyed with the treatment of Emily who suddenly slapped his son even though he knew that the Eagle was indeed at fault.

"He deserves it, his mouth can't be polite and an impolite mouth needs to be taught to respect other people," Emily said making the Eagle clench his fist tightly, he hated Emily.

"Why did you refuse this marriage?"

The woman was silent for a moment, for her marriage is something sacred. Even from the beginning, he did not mind Nature's blindness, it was better because he could move freely when carrying out his mission. However, 'marrying' is a bit scary for him who has been a victim of marriage.

"I don't want to get married, that's all," he said firmly.

A few moments later he chose to leave there. It made everyone stare at him.

"Sorry, he was traumatized by his childhood," Jordan said making Tristan frown. "When she was little her mother left and she was sold to pay off her father's gambling debts because it made her not want to get married," explains Jordan.

Nature immediately moved from her seat. "Where are you going?"

"Get some wind, it's quite hot in here," he muttered as he left the room.

Nature goes around looking for Emily's whereabouts, he has to get her to marry him, no matter what. His gaze fixed on one direction saw Emily was shooting in the garden with a distance of 25 meters.

"Why don't you want to marry me?" asked Aaron suddenly making Emily's aim miss.

"Damn," cursed Emily who saw that Nature was suddenly there. "Why are you here? You will get lost."

"Your father lied about your trauma, right? You just don't want to marry a blind man like me."

Emily took a deep breath.

"I'm not that kind of person, seeing someone because he's disabled,"

"If not, why don't you want to get married?"

"Not only," said Emily again pulling the bowstring.

"It turns out you are the same as other women, looking at someone from the physical,"

"I'm not the same as them," said Emily. "Only, I can't for other reasons," said Emily as he drew back his bow.

"Is it because you're an assassin?"
